I have been in the process of getting solar panels with an ev charging panel. Most of this process…read morewent relatively smoothly despite some lag time with cps which I already understood would happen. My only issue is communication, it felt like I was the one reaching out constantly trying to get updates even for simply setting a date for installation or following up on paperwork.

It has been about 3 years since we got solar panels. On Memorial Day 2024, our house was hit by a…read moresevere hailstorm. As a result, our roof and 8 out of 42 panels got damaged. I contacted the original company that installed the panels (from here on, it will be referred to as OrgCom). Dan Moran was my first contact at OrgCom. He quickly sent me the information my roofer needed on uninstalling and reinstalling the panels. He periodically checked on where we were in the process. As we got closer to starting the repairs, he informed me that he was no longer the contact person since he was not working with them anymore and provided me with the new person's contact information. My roofer had difficulties getting a hold of the new person or anyone else from OrgCom. I called Dan and he offered to reach out and see if he could get a hold of someone at OrgCom. He called back right away and informed me that they had ceased operations. During our conversation, I learned that he was now working for Central Texas Solar and that they only serve a 100-mile radius from San Antonio. I asked if he knew of any company that offers services in my area. He could have easily said NO, but instead, he spoke with his new boss and got them to agree to take me as a new customer even though I was many miles outside their service area. Central Texas Solar matched the repair estimate I had received from OrgCom and quickly began working with my roofer to schedule the panel removal. After the roof work was completed, they returned to reinstall the panels. The crew drove from San Antonio and worked until late (it was dark when they left). After checking MySolarEdge App it was not reflecting that all the panels were up and running. My roofer contacted them, and they sent a crew back to check what was happening. Two men from Central Texas Solar showed up on the 23rd of October and quickly figured out what was wrong. I started talking to them and found out that one of them was Mr. Leo Kapici the owner. I took that opportunity to tell him about Dan's exceptional customer service. Nowadays it is hard to find workers with great attitudes, passion, and professionalism. I must acknowledge Dan, Kathy, Leo, and all of you who worked behind the scenes to make this happen. Central Texas Solar gets 12 out of 10 in my book.

We are so glad we chose to go with the local guys (Roof Chiefs). We had hired them to fix our roof after hail damage. We had extra unknown damage to our chimney that was leaking water into our house. They came out promptly and were able to fix the leak and limit the damage. The quality of the work is excellent. My roof looks great and was completed faster than expected. They fabricated a new chimney cap from scratch for us. We also had them install new gutters which work perfectly. Their attention to detail is amazing. We had a spot that water was pooling and they were able to redirect the water coming off our roof to fix this issue. They took the time to answer all my questions and made sure the job site was spotless before leaving. It's clear they take pride in their work and care about their customers. If you're looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled roofing company, I highly recommend them. I would absolutely use them again and refer them to friends and family.

Coach Abe Vargas explained the whole process, didn't rush me to make a decision. We are very satisfied with using Roof Chiefs. All issues occurred pre-COVID-19: The problems began from…read morethe time the first walk through was supposed to take place. The electrician was a no show. The owner apologized and said that he would make it up to me by taking care of me. I missed work to be there for the walk through and had to miss work a second time for the second appointment where the electrician was still late. On October 17, 2019 I was told that the install would take place in a week. The panels were delayed being shipped and did not arrive on time, so I had mounts installed on my roof with no panels. A customer service rep called me and said the panels would be delivered Friday evening October 25th. They said they were personally tracking them and for me to be at home to accept shipment. Nothing ever arrived. Then the same customer rep said they were out for delivery Saturday morning, October 26th. No one ever came to the house. Solar Alliance tried to pass the blame on the business they bought the solar panels (CED) from saying they were only passing on information. On Monday, October 28th, I got a call from a dispatcher saying they would be delivered today with a window from 8am-4pm. When the panels arrived, a single individual loaded them to a dolly and was not able to pull them up our driveway, put them in our garage. This ruined the epoxy on my garage floor that was applied a few weeks before. I could not leave them on my driveway since I have a strict HOA. The installers were not able to come back out until the next Saturday. I informed the owner that this would be fine as long as they were there early since I had a weekend family trip that had been planned months ahead of time. The owner confirmed they would arrive between 9-10am Saturday morning, November 2nd. 10 am comes and no one has arrived. I call the owner and finally hear back around noon that they were delayed at another job in Spicewood Springs, which is an hour away. I asked why they would tell me a specific time if they knew that they already had a job at that time. The owner said the subcontract their installations out. This raises all sorts of red flags. The installers are shown on their website as employees. (This website is now down) This was clear deception and dishonesty. The installer said he would be there by 3:00 pm and did not arrive until 4:45 pm. Again, the owner said he would make it up to me and offered to compensate me $200 for my garage floor damage, which does not cover the cost at all. My project failed inspection and as far as I know it was never passed. Never did anyone walk me through what was done or how it works. This is probably because it was not working. The system does not report on 2 of the three things it should (Solar to the Grid, and Grid power consumed.) The last communication I received was March 6th, and their website is now down.
