They only accepted a new with tags top I recently purchased for 30 dollars and some cute new boots that retailed for about 30 bucks. I was offered 5 dollars total for both. I took it and regret it. I spent more for gas to drive to this place. My stuff was way nicer than the items in the store. What a deflating experience.

I asked them about being able to repair my vintage Longines watch and they said they could, but it would take a little bit because of COVID. Most places won't even touch a Longines watch or it requires being sent out to a jewelry repair a long way away or takes a long time to be completed. You don't even know who is working on it. I've had trouble finding a decent local place to take it and they apparently can. I will definitely take it in soon for them to take a look at it. They seem to know what they're doing, have a nice selection of merchandise, particularly men's watches, good customer service, decent turnaround times on repairs, etc. My wife found a ring or two that she liked, hehe, maybe I'll have to buy one for her when I get the watch fixed. I bet she'd appreciate that.

For me, this was a fun place to shop when I was in college and I guess, in many ways, it still is. While they have aisles of overpriced, inferior-quality items, like cheaply-made clothing and jewelry, they still have cool pop culture items, like TV show and faux vintage rock t-shirts. There are still some good bargains in here, especially during clearance sales. Watch out for the clearance bins at the front of the store- I got a Homeland t-shirt for $2.99! Plus, they sell funky pop culture & retro buttons and lots of vinyl records. Gotta love the vinyl, right? Hot Topic does have the odd assortment of clothing made of rubber, corsets, baby doll dresses, and S & M attire that a fledgling dominatrix or porn star would probably drove over, but I just bypass that stuff. It's like Noir-lite in here. Customer service is a mixed bag- they are either all over you or leave you to your own devices completely. I never expected much in the way of customer service here, so it's not of particular importance. It's a Hot Topic, duh!

They actually had a very large selection of the bracelets and charms, running mostly between $28-$50, including an interesting array of Valentine's Day theme charms. The customer service was excellent, they even offered gift wrap. Other than Alex and Ani, they also had a huge line of Pandora (which my wife loves), including some "last chance clearance" items, plus a nice array of Tacori. I usually use Kay Jewelers for most jewelry purchases, but this Medawar impressed me. They also do on site jewelry and watch repair. I might bring my vintage Longines watch here for repairs. I would like to get that watch repaired locally, as opposed to taking it to a store that I don't shop in regularly. I'm glad to see Medawar can do it here.

I still needed to have my rings resized again elsewhere.. they did not have the rings ready when I came in just before close on the date they were to be done- their jeweler was still refining work on the rings and we had to wait.. My husband and I had two other rings resized here and both were routine - however, the more intricate and pricey repairs to my other rings did not go smoothly.. and i definitely say it was over priced.. However, the sales people are very nice and they have beautiful jewelry- they even have a good array of Pandora. They've since then done a few appraisals for me on other pieces and those experiences were okay. Overall, a nice store with lovely staff but I should've taken the larger repair elsewhere.. as it was, I had to get the rings resized at a separate jeweler..
