So happy we stayed here!! We had a really great experience. The front desk staff was truly wonderful, kind and so considerate. Our room was clean and stocked. It had a mini fridge with a freezer, an iron, blow dryer and coffee in the room. We were able to park on the side of the building and access our room right by our car and they had a cute table and chair set up that we would sit at. They had some board games we could take back to the room as well. The pool area was really enjoyable. Chairs, tables and umbrellas were offered and the water was crystal clear and they checked the water often! The parking lot that it's in is also really great. To be honest we were a little taken back by it's location but it really turned out to be great. There was a restaurant a few steps away as well as an adorable thrift store which we found a lot of things at actually! There was also a brewery, a pizza place and across the street was an antique shop. Down the road was a liquor store, gas station and a dollar general which we stopped at. It was just really conveniently located. The drive to surf city was about 45 minutes which wasn't bad at all. If your staying for a weekend and want an affordable place to stay with great service- this is it!

Our room was dark and dingy. The pictures on the site are very deceiving. The "inn" is located in the back of a shopping center. Directly behind it there's a recycling center that looked like a repair shop. The back door and window in our first floor room were facing this business. The back door wouldn't lock! We had to slam it several times. The room was dark and musty!! The tub was stained. It was a nightmare!! We asked, but they didn't have any other rooms. And at $300 a night it's a joke! Not convenient if you're visiting LBI as the drive back and forth was about 35 minutes each way. Stay away!!

Sunburst Motel - Standard Room with 2 Double Beds

I'm convinced that people who leave poor reviews for motels don't realize what they're getting…read morethemselves into. Seaside isn't Martha's Vineyard or the Hamptons. You're not staying at the Ritz Carlton. Yes, the Sunburst Motel probably needs renovating since it was last decorated decades ago. Yes, there were cigarette burns in the bedding. However, it's clean for the most part, which can't be said about all of the motels in Seaside Heights. The bathroom was very nice. No, there isn't shampoo, body wash, or conditioner. Unfortunately, you'll have to stop by the local CVS and pick up a couple travel sized bottles. You'll survive. Some pros about our stay at Sunburst: There was a functional triple lock on the door. Definitely helps to know that we're safe. The beds were incredibly comfortable and warm despite the cigarette burn holes. That didn't really bother us too much. The bedding was clean. No bed bugs. We had a nice room with two beds, a kitchenette, TV, and refrigerator. The man who runs the front desk was very nice and helpful. I forgot to get his name but he was very friendly. It's very close to the middle of the boardwalk and beach. There was only one con about staying here. It's very loud and the walls are thin. We had noisy neighbors. Not really a fault of the motel but Seaside typically attracts the louder and younger crowd. Not a huge issue. There's also no daily maid service which doesn't bother us but I know that's a deal breaker for some. Overall, this is a comfortable, fairly clean, and safe place to stay in Seaside Heights. Again, don't come here if you're looking for a ritzy hotel. You'll definitely be disappointed. In fact, don't come to the Jersey Shore at all if you want to go somewhere classy. This isn't it. If you just want a comfortable and pleasant stay, this is a good option. Believe me, there are a lot of motels in the area that are in horrible condition and I would not feel safe staying at. Sunburst isn't one of them. It deserves the four stars. The Charlroy Motel is also another family friendly option in the area. More expensive and on the quieter side of town but worth the money. They were booked for the summer so Sunburst was our next option and they didn't disappoint!

Went to Seaside Heights on a spontaneous overnight trip…read more Found a convenient parking lot next to beach. I asked parking attendant for motel recommendations. He gave Sunburst a thumbs up. Nice simple room, refrigerator, working AC. Clean room and bathroom! The pool is heated and great for evening use! Tyler, was very accommodating and gave us great restaurant recommendations! Gotta check out Sunset seafood! Good thing Tyler mentioned it was BYOB! Would definitely stay there again and recommend! Thanks Tyler!

Beautiful hotel, overall great experience. The lobby is large and newly updated. The staff was…read moreprofessional and pleasant. My room was a lovely, large corner king. My one complaint was the blackout curtains were hanging down with no bar to pull them completely closed. It wouldn't be a problem but directly behind the hotel is a town parking lot for trucks and large bright lights 24/7. There is no complimentary breakfast but there is a great restaurant/bar open for lunch, dinner and late night. I would definitely come back.

Overall, I had a positive stay at this hotel. My room was clean, there were no noise disturbances…read moreduring my stay, and I was happy the TV had a nice variety of channels. I booked this hotel to attend my friend's wedding. I stayed on the 5th floor which I loved because the floor was extremely quiet. I never heard another guest while I was in my room, and with it being a wedding weekend, I would assume it was pretty loud at times on my floor. My sheets were spotless, the floors were clean, the bathroom was sparkling, and the mini fridge easily fit our Friday dinner leftovers. There was a coffee machine to make coffee in the morning which was a very important amenity. There was also complimentary coffee in the hotel lobby in the mornings. There were a few small details about the hotel room I did not like. The curtains do not fully close over the windows. There are two layers of curtains: one layer is solid cloth, and the other layer is more transparent. The solid cloth layer does not close all the way so if you try to do work at the desk in the room there is a glare on the screen in the daytime. Also, at night when you want to ensure privacy it is difficult to do so. I ended up taking a hanger with clips from the closet to close the curtains completely and that fixed that concern. Another issue with the room is that the toilet paper is very thin. Additionally, the toilet paper holder is placed at an angle behind the toilet that is difficult to reach. A lot of items in the bathroom were not conveniently placed. The hand soap was in a holder attached to the wall instead of near the faucet. Whoever designed the bathroom was thinking more about aesthetics than function. The hotel room had outlet that did not work. There were four outlets attached to the bed frame that did not work until my husband played with the wiring. He then got those outlets to work at the cost of the outlet in the lamp not working. Some of the wiring was not done well for this room. Overall these minor issues prevented me from rating this hotel as a 5 star experience but would not be cause for me not to come back. I really enjoyed how clean and quiet the hotel was. I strongly encourage other people to stay there if in town for vacation or a wedding.
