Go here for a special occasion! From the moment you enter it's like entering a secret garden. We sat outside the back garden and there was beautiful ambient lighting where you are surrounded by a Lucious landscape. The service here was top notch! Worth 25% +tip! After our meal, the owner greeted us and checked in to see how everything was. He and his wife have been in business for twenty years. It's a prefix menu so you pick 1 app, 1 entree and 1 dessert. Started with the fried green tomato, had the seafood risotto and the coconut vegan cake. Everything was excellent except for all the up-charges on the seafood and steaks. Hub said the beef was good quality and almost seemed dry aged. His came with broccolini which was a little too charred. It was about $200 pp without the tip. The coconut ice cream was amazing but the vegan cake seemed to be missing something. Overall a great meal, ambiance and service but at an uber high price point.

My cousin and her husband live locally and eat here regularly. BYOB and ice bucket waiting- nice touch!!! We sat in the very back garden which I loved. My cousin specifically requested the garden and I was glad. Loved the ambiance. It was very relaxing. Soft fresh bread. Warm. Loved it. Delicious olives. Not many but good. I ordered the agnolotti which she said is fresh made in house everyday. I also ordered the tuna and the coconut custard. The angolotti were delicious and the portion was not small. The waitress said it was but it was not. Next time I would pace myself better or order a salad. I could barely eat my tuna but it was absolutely fresh and delicious. Even as leftovers it was very good- the whole dish. My cousin loved her arancini. I thought they were ok. Her husband said the duck was gamy and fatty. I did no try it. Cheesecake dessert had lemon not evenly dispersed. I liked my coconut custard.

What a wonderful dining experience! The service and food were both outstanding. Loved the decor of the entire space. The piano entertainment was a classy touch and so romantic. The pre fixed menu had nice choices with an up charge for the filet and tuna. The complimentary bread was so addictive we ordered a second. lol. We started with the burrata salad and Arancini. The burrata salad was great. The cheese was creamy and tossed with greens and homemade croutons. The dressing was fabulous! The arancini were also very flavorful. The entrees that we choose were the Pork chop and Tuna. Both dishes were exquisite! The pork was so flavorful and tender. My boyfriend loved the broccoli rabe as well. It was seasoned to perfection. The tuna was outstanding. So fresh and seared sushi style. It honestly was the best tuna I've ever eaten. Seasoned well and a very high quality. Both dishes were presented beautifully! For dessert we had the crème brûlée with raspberry and the coconut custard. Both were sinfully good and worth the calories. lol. I highly recommend The Gables for a romantic night out or special occasion. For two hours you will be transported to culinary heaven. It's also a byob so bring you finest bubbly! Awesome!

We came here for the first time for a celebration. The decor is clearly Victorian and you can see it in the wide plank floors and decor. The menu is fixed price plus. Three courses. The appetizers were unanimously, delicious and well apportioned. Everybody enjoyed their entrée. The duck was a little cheap, with three little pieces, not what was expected in the least bit. The bone in fillet was delicious and a $35 up charge All the desserts were very tasty as well. The ambience is definitely well worth it.

The flowers and ambiance at The Gables is magnificent. This is such a perfect date night spot. My husband and I went here for my birthday and I was delighted. The food was delicious, service great, and the company was fantastic. It truly was a perfect night. Definitely check it out.

Gables dining is always a summer fulfillment of mine. The ambience is quite elegant with a calming atmosphere landscaped with overflowing hanging baskets that match perfectly with one another on the open-air porch. The garden is lined with a flow of pink and white flowers, tall greenery and a fountain that attracts a curious bird or two. The tables are lined with white linens, heavy silverware, what appears to be crystal glasses, and a simple candle lit vase with one dark colored rose next to it. The meals being offered were a choice from a three course meal menu at $99 a person and an up charge of $38 for a bone in filet and a lobster Caesar salad. I must say that I was slightly disappointed with the choices of apps that evening. The salad my husband had was what appeared to be shredded thin long veggies tossed in an Asian dressing. It was definitely a light fare, but not something to order again. The bone in filet was an extra $38 and the first bite tasted like heavy charcoal from the grill. I wasn't impressed until cutting a bit more into the meat where the flavors eventually appeared. The scallop risotto was delightful and was a decent portion to satisfy. Our dessert was delicious and should've been offered with coffee after finishing our meals. All in all, I think the Gables is a must try, but I think mostly the romantic dining atmosphere is what really attracts me to dining year after year at this establishment.

Had a lovely dinner at The Gables prix fixe this week. Super romantic with a garden-like atmosphere with beautiful lamps and swings. Good is expensive but worth every dollar. Keep in mind they're BYOB.

The food was over priced for a fixed meal dinner. Could not substitute any sides on the menu. Serves was adequate. Will not be going back.

One I received my plate it was very obvious it was from frozen. Part of the tuna was cooked through and part of it was partially rare and the texture was not from fresh. I could also tell also by the coating which was supposed to be blackened was pre made. For the price of the plate I would expect better than upscale diner food which is the category I would put it under.

There is an indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is very nice and well spaced out. We sat outdoor, but I could see indoor. The layout looked very nice and pleasant older style decor. The server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and just the right amount of attention not to bother us, but not to leave us at any moment waiting It is a BYOB which we didn't know. They do have some wine you can buy by the bottle we bought a bottle. It was OK. The food overall we found to be very good every step of the way the bread that they gave us to first starter was good then the appetizers. My daughter had the Barada salad, which was very good. I had tuna bites. They were excellent. For our main course, I had Cory's combo which is a seafood combo of flounder, scallops, crabcake, and shrimp. All of these I found to be very good. The crabcake in particular was full of lump crab, and not too much of the filler. It was very well done. My daughter had the black and prime rib with baked potato. It was excellent perfectly cooked nice and tender flavorful. My wife had the fillet which she frequently orders when we go out to dinner, this one did not disappoint the texture the way it was cooked the flavoring. The sides were all excellent. We were very happy with this last minute decision and hope you find it to be the same! Good luck. I very rarely give five stars, but had a hard time finding a reason not to. Good job.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ Garlic Rolls with a side of Marinara - OK, these were just garlic rolls/knots, BUT they were sooooooo good. Hot, fresh and super soft. Our kids gobbled them up. + Blackened Shrimp Tacos - PHENOMENAL tacos. Soft tortillas and fresh shrimp laid on a bed of shredded lettuce. + Blackened Mahi Tacos - Just as good as the Shrimp Tacos. There was a decent size piece of mahi in each taco and each one was very fresh. + Barry's "Tailgate" Philly Cheesesteak - Great cheesesteak! Delicious chopped up pieces of ribeye had melted cooper sharp cheese on it and sauteed onions. Sesame seed long roll was super soft and a perfect vessel for the cheesesteak. + Ice Cream - Had the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chunk, Midnight Jersey Shore and Strawberry. All EXCELLENT flavors. If you love dark chocolate, the Midnight Jersey Shore is perfect. + Menu consists of a whole host of foods - fish tacos, cheesesteaks, salads, burgers, sandwiches, paninis, wraps, fried baskets, cold sandwiches, hoagies, pizza ... and, of course, refreshingly delicious ice cream! THE SERVICE ------------------- + Considering how busy and chaotic it was, all of the employees were working blazingly fast. They did warn us that it would take about 30 minutes for our food to come out because of how busy it was. + All employees were relatively courteous and helpful. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + A lot of tables indoors and outdoors, but they fill up fast during peak summer hours. - No private parking lot, but there is a lot street parking right outside (if you can get a spot during peak summer hours). There is a public parking lot across the street too. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = This restaurant was realllllly happening, which was a great sign. Came by at 7 PM on Labor weekend Sunday and saying that it was chaotically busy was an understatement. It was the busiest restaurant we went to BY FAR and probably one of the busiest in Beach Haven, LBI. = There are 2 lines inside, one for ice cream and one for food. = Order your food first, then grab a seat, however, you can definitely try to snag a table first, if possible. Chances are that it will take some time for your food to be prepped when it's very busy.

With tax and tip came to $93.00 The chicken cheesesteak was very good but the bread. You really can't find good bread in South Jersey, unless they could spend a few extra pennies a loaf and order bread from a Northern New Jersey bakery. The tacos consisted of three tacos per order a little light on the shrimp only 2 small pieces of shrimp per tacoo for $19 per order. If they would've added an extra shrimp or two to each taco would've been more satisfying. The salad was very good. The lobster bisque had more potatoes in the soup than I expected. They also give you three golf ball size garlic knots that basically tasted like spongy, garlic coated marshmallows. Gave it to the birds. so at the end of the day, our choices are limited when you're on foot in Beach Haven.
