Beware! FAIL: Broadway Pizza is now inside the newly renovated Blue Goose Inn located in Garrison, MN. Let me give it to you straight, if you have the chance to go ANYWHERE else but here, do it! We spent over $40 on an Appetizer Platter and Large New York Crust pizza a few weeks ago, and it was by far the worst pizza I have ever had. The crust was NOT hand made, but a greasy-cardboard holder for greasy, TASTELESS toppings. And, if you expect to wait less than an hour? FORGET IT!!! They are EXTREMELY understaffed, and by that I mean ONE person running the entire bar and restaurant area. The poor girl trying to keep up gave me the excuse that "We literally had 2 tables all day so we let others go home" and now, it was 7pm and she was SWAMPED... so overwhelmed, that her "Dad" was a go-between to fetch orders and help her keep up. Finally, several weeks later when I returned home from an out of town family reunion, we considered giving them a second chance... what a mistake - I phoned a manager named "Mary" to let her know I would be willing to purchase the appetizer Platter again (fantastic btw) and see what my options were on a discounted pizza and the best she could do was tell me to come/call back next Wednesday for a 20% discount when a REAL manager was available. Both of us have grown up on this pizza in Minneapolis - and believe me, this is NOT up to those standards by any means. In addition, Mary could use a brush-up on her customer services skills. Way to go BlueGoose! SMH - Fail. NOTE: YOU MUST BRING YOUR KIDS INSIDE THE BAR TO ORDER FOOD ....and they may get as irritated as I was by the drunk who was obviously over served. read more

Typical northwoods atmosphere at the Blue Goose, and unfortunately, typical northwoods food. Lunch special was roast beef sandwich with french onion soup. Go ahead, picture that, think about what it would be. Now, imagine your disappointment when what appeared in front of you was some cold sliced roast beef on french bread, with no condiments whatsoever, accompanied by some brothy onions with a few croutons tossed in and a glob of partially melted shredded mystery cheese floating in it. Yes, it was cheap. No, it was not 'special'. My friend's fish was nicely breaded and fried, though they were 'fingers' rather than filets. Perhaps sticking to things prepared in the fryer is the way to go here. No shortage of options on Mille Lacs. I'll be trying out a different spot next time I pass thru town. read more

I really wanted to love everything about this new location. First off, I was disappointed that the menu was just for Broadway Pizza and Burger King. Also, they were very understaffed- just one guy was watching the bar, and waiting the tables... And it was 6:30 on a Saturday night! The food was awesome! I got the breaded wings, and my husband got the meatball hoagie. The deep dish cookie couldn't have been better! I give the food 5 stars, but the low staffing level one star. read more

This place is new and improved. A complete remodel has made this mediocre restaurant into a class act. Food has improved and stay for the music. I love the view. Service was slow - food was ok.... thought it was was strange that I couldnt order a regular beef hamburger. ... unless i ordered burger king. went with the spicy black bean patty.... it was good.... but maybe I was just super hungry cuz it took so long to get! Had to ask for refills even though the server came and checked on us but didn't offer.... We were up in the area for a couple days to celebrate my birthday week. I've eaten here before a long time ago so didn't really remember the place well. Decided to check them out before going out on a fishing launch. I had the walleye sandwich and Mary Jo had the walleye fingers. We both loved the meals. Best fried fish I've had in a long time. The walleye sandwich came with a huge fillet (bigger than the hoagie it was on), The tartar sauce and seasoned sour cream seemed home made. WTF? They reopened and serve Burger King Broadway Pizza as well as other items. My friend ordered a turkey sandwich and I ordered a double whopper plane just the meat and the bun. Over 40 min later the food came. He got a chicken sandwich, not the turkey sandwich that he ordered and my dbl. whopper came out full of onions. I sent mine back and they just scraped off the onions and sent it back out to me. I was so hungry by the I just tolerated it. The waitress came by at the end after basically ignoring us and not even asking us if we waned refills and asked if everything was ok. I told her about the turkey sandwich turned into a chicken sandwich and how my whopper tasting like onions. It was define tilt time to go. Not to mention the music was way to loud. We couldn't even talk without yelling. This not a family place to bring your kids for a meal but if your young and looking to get drunk off your ass then you might like it. First visit at the new place. The new Blue Goose Inn is a unique marriage of north woods bar meets the food you want to eat after drinking at a north woods bar. It just works. I met a couple of people for a drink tonight. I am a big IPA drinker and while lager was standard, they have some traditional local (MN) ales and hoppier beers like Odell's IPA which is a very respectable offering. Seriously, nothing goes better with good beer than a Whopper from Burger King or an Italian sub from Broadway. I chose the latter and was not disappointed. The Italian sub was great, and tater-tots sealed the deal. If you are not from up here, tater-tots can fairly well define a place. Neither the food or the beer would have made the evening as memorable as the service from the bartender. She was in equal parts cute, brash, and endearing. Good food, great service tonight, nice lake view. Will return. Because I love beer, I would encourage the wait staff to learn the beer menu. Get some 8+ ABV Imperials and push them. Went there this past Monday. We hadn't been up in the Garrison area for quite some time. Unfortunately, I looked at Yelp too late to find out that this was not the Blue Goose that we remembered. As others have said, the menu is now Burger King and Broadway. From what we could see, there was substantial markup on these fast food items when you order them from the bar side of the house. Service was disjointed and our server had no idea what beers were available. We will take our business elsewhere when we head in this direction again. read more

Our first time at the "new blue goose " ...the service was very slow..my first drink was in a short glass ...the second one came out in a tall glass....we ordered the pork n kraut pizza...it was tasteless ..had mostly onions ..couldn't hardly find any kraut on it...it wasn't even cut all the way through the over done cardboard like crust ..its not Broadway pizza that I've come to love in the city's...I was looking forward to so much more but was extremely disappointed ..good idea..bad results. . read more

If you are looking for a good beer selection this is a great option. If you are a fan of Broadway Pizza, stays true to the recipe, I love the sausage. The rest of the food is mediocre at best. Stopped in for the first time Friday evening before Memorial Day. It was surprisingly quiet. Randy was our very helpful, friendly, attentive waiter. We ordered a medium taco pizza. Randy recommended the medium size for two people and he was right. Pizza was good, just like every other Broadway Pizza. We also ordered a side salad, which was a typical iceberg lettuce salad, nothing special. We would eat there again. read more

Came up for Labor Day weekend, stopped in Sunday evening about dinner time. Took the waitress ten minutes jus to bring the Menus over and another twenty to order drinks. Terrible service! Always drove past this place and wanted to try it, absolutely nothing special here. Left and went to the casino up the road ten minutes away and had wonderful service there fed good promptly and had great service, was worth driving up the road instead of staying at this dump! have ate there 3 times. 1 st time, horrible service, manager even bought us a beer, cause we had to wait so long. both husband and i had flu like systems the next day?? 2nd time, poor service, food was not hardly warm. 3rd time, poor service,very slow.. was dinner time on a friday night, hardly any other customers in dinning room. i did see one couple come in with 2 children. they sat down and waited for about 15 minutes. no service so they left. i had a taco salad with about a thimble full of taco meat. 3 strikes and you are out. we will not be back. read more

This place is Horrible. The service is terrible as is the clueless owner. If they can't do it now from the get go, they will hurt them selfs in the long run. They do not understand what it is to be a customer. We entered through the Burger King/Broadway Pizza entrance and were told we could only order a pizza from here & no appetizers. Very dumb cuz it All comes from the same kitchen ? This is idiotic. We had to go to the Blue Goose to order our dinner, which I hate cuz I DO NOT LIKE DRUNKS, and would never bring my kids to a bar. We had to wait 15 mins befor we even saw a bartender to order, then it took another hour to get our pizza & appetizer. Once we did get our food the owner had to go back 2 times to get our pizza fixings. Crushed red pepper, Parm, napkins, & marinara sauce for our app. All of which we clearly stated when we ordered. The wors part comes when we get home, the pizza was nothing like the Broadway Pizza I grew up on in the cities. We are very easy going and forgivable people and mostly only give positive reviews but this one has to be posted. It was a huge wast of money. I have stopped at this location several times over the course of time. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. My husband and I placed our order at the Burger King side. I went to fill our cups and discovered a sloppy mess around the drink machine. The floor needed sweeping, the tables needed cleaning & trash bins full. I went to the Broadway Bar & Pizza side and told the gal there that the store was a mess and thought they would like to know. I took a table and waited for my husband to bring our order. He then over heard someone say that some bitchy lady was mad and wanted them to clean the place. Wow! Really! I don't give a hoot if you clean it or not, but I bet your manager EXPECTS you to earn your wage. read more

It's too bad the Blue Goose, which is an excellent place has to get a poor review for the repulsive Burger King they have on premises. Visited this drive thru Sunday afternoon. Being fourth in line, we waited 20 minutes to arrive at the window and the food still wasn't ready. These workers clearly hate their jobs. The lady at the drive thru window appeared excessively stoned, confused and could barely keep her eyes open, let alone remember what she was doing. After waiting 22 minutes, got the wrong food. When I did get my food there were pieces of chicken and fries in with my onion rings. My chicken sandwich had approximately 1/2 cup mayo on it. It was all over in the wrapper and on the outside of the sandwich and the chicken actually kept falling out of the bun because it was so slippery. It looked like someone had put it together angrily like they hate what they're doing. I like extra mayo, but even after scraping all the mayo off, the entire sandwich was ruined. I can only imagine what that place looks like inside. As nasty as my food looked, I picture a filthy inside that couldn't possibly pass a state inspection. If you MUST eat fast food, there's a McDonald's a block away. Go there instead. Or better yet, pick up something at the holiday gas station which is always clean. read more
