The Blue Gum Hotel is great for reunions, family lunches and gatherings with friends. They host a number of events such as Melbourne Cup Day and their flat screen televisions showcase the rugby and cricket. Other entertainment features include trivia, members night and special deals. Patrons can choose to cook their own steak on one of the available BBQ's or have one of the chefs cook it for them. It's quite a novelty cooking your own steak with friends surrounding the hot plate. The food is efficiently prepared and cooked well. A buzzer beeper alerts you to when your food is ready- you simply pick it up from the kitchen. Drinks are also self serve. Customers can choose to sit indoors or outdoors. Outdoor heaters populate the pub, making the rooms warm and welcoming.

The Blue Gum Hotel is a fun place to enjoy a beer at after work, hangout with friends, or to catch a game. Great drinks and upscale bar food are the staples and the burger is definitely one of the more popular items. The Blue Gum Burger features a Wagyu patty, lettuce, cheddar, charred chorizo, BBQ marmalade, and aioli. The Wagyu beef and fantastic bun give a tenderness to each bite that really lets the juicy beef flavor stand out. The chorizo and the rest of the ingredients work well, but are almost too salty/tangy. They leave the burger missing that something special to bring everything together. This makes the Blue Gum Burger great for a burger craving but short of the list for Best Burgers in Sydney.

Really good pub food. Perfect taste. Was surprised as it is pub food after all. Will definitely be back.

The Blue Gum is a great local family pub, and for me, offers some of the best pub food in the area.

I stayed here for a few days to attend a wedding. Definitely did not give a good first impression…read more We went to check-in to our room (we had 2 bookings for 2 rooms), they only found one of the two bookings. They spent about 30 minutes looking for the other booking. Turns out it was a problem with the website we booked with. Anyways, after about 30 minutes of waiting around in the lobby, they just decided to send us to one of the rooms that we booked to wait instead. They told us that they would come up in 15 minutes to give us the keys to the other room. 45 minutes later...no one comes up. We call reception from the room phone, it somehow goes to another department and we had to be redirected ( aka the tags on the phone were wrong). They tell us they will come up shortly with the keys. Another 15 minutes later, we finally get the keys to the other room. A day later, the internet server dies. We call the reception and they say it will be fixed later that day. Later that day, it STILL is not fixed and then they tell us it will be fixed tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, it is still not fixed and they claim they are working on it. Later that night, it is FINALLY fixed. The facilities are pretty nice, rooms are quite spacious and I like how the office area is apart from the beds so one person can work while the other sleeps. They have a wide range of tv channels. Overall, the only issue I had with this hotel was the initial impression and the internet problem, otherwise, the rooms and other amenities are quite impressive.

Today there is a karaoke event going on in the bar in the next room. Add about 2000 starlings outside trying to settle for the night and it's very noisy. Other times I have walked through and it's very quiet. They have some interesting menu items but what is on the website is more extensive than what is actually offered. No veggie nachos, for example. They have beef nachos but you can't take the beef off because it's all mixed together already. I ordered the nachos anyway, figuring I could separate the beef, which I was able to do partially. I liked the dish over all. There was a goodly pile of chips with the beef mixture, guac and sour cream. I would have liked more beans. The tomato bits and jalapeños added flavor. With the addition of a draw of Tooey's it was a tasty meal. The place wasn't busy and the staff wear masks as do customers. There's a sign on the door that says you must be vaccinated to come in, but I don't know if they check it.

I really wasn't all that impressed with this place. I guess it was because it was basically your…read morestandard suburban pub. In fact I'd go as far as calling it a shopping centre pub, namely because it is pretty close to the local shopping centre, though it isn't strictly a part of it. However, they really didn't have a great selection of beers, and the atmosphere wasn't all the best either. However, the staff were nice.

Excellent Apartment Hotel…read more My employer set me up a stay here while I look for a place of my own and it's been fantastic. Good sized rooms with all necesities covered. You can keep an independent life (cooker, washing machine, etc.) but you are also taken care of (daily cleaning, re-stocking your room, etc.) Staff is very helpful and friendly. The only downside I found was the fact that it isn't the easiest place to get to from the city (specially at night and even more if you are far from the CBD).

Three days in, we've discovered that "serviced apartment" apparently means you service the apartment. Housekeeping seems to be more of a mythical creature than an actual department. If you enjoy making your own bed, living with the same towels, and wondering what day it is because nobody has entered your room, you'll feel right at home. The adventure really began when we unpacked the kitchen. Every plate, bowl, and piece of cutlery was dirty, so we thought, "No worries, we'll just use the dishwasher." We opened it... Imagine discovering the Titanic's cutlery drawer. The dishwasher racks weren't a little rusty--they looked like they'd been recovered from an archaeological dig. Every metal bar was covered in rust. Still, being optimistic, we loaded everything up, selected the heavy cycle, and waited the full 2 1/2 hours. The result? The dishes somehow managed to come out almost as dirty as they went in. That's a level of consistency you have to admire. Overall, Quest Macquarie Park is perfect if you've been feeling nostalgic for the good old days of: Washing every dish by hand. Sleeping in the same sheets all week. Doing your own housekeeping. Wondering whether the dishwasher is an appliance or an art installation. It's like someone combined a modern apartment with a week-long cadet camp in the Australian bush. A true "back to basics" experience. Highly recommended for anyone who goes on holiday and thinks, "You know what this trip is missing? More chores."

It looks quite small but it is so large. The rooms are delightful and very comfortable. My daughter was coming down from the central Coast when she lost control of her car in the rain. She had to stay in Sydney as she had no way of getting back that night. I phoned and made a booking, they were so helpful and even though they were busy, they found a room from my daughter and her partner at 9pm at night. We celebrated my sister-in-law's 60th birthday at the hotel. The food was great, every course a winner. We had wonderful service, the staff were terrific. Now I go to the Spa at the hotel. It's in a separate building, right next to the swimming pool and it is really rather luxurious. They offer all sorts of things like body wraps and stone massages . The only problem is getting through to them. They don't have a separate receptionist so you have to leave a message. However, if you want to spoil yourself or a friend, there's nothing better.
