Then one of the employees came in the front door and handed us a paper menu to look at instead of looking up on the board. He said if we need anything he'd be right behind the counter. A couple minutes later he approached us again and asked us if we had any questions - he also spoke english! So we told him we wanted the Frida Torta combo and the Super Chilaquiles - he translated to the cashier and then he jumped behind the counter and made our dinner. The cashier brought out a little basket of chips and super spicy delicious salsa that also had some pepper slices and pickled carrots plus my horchata! Then she brought out our dinner. Nice size portions for both. The Super Chilaquiles were accompanied with Refried beans and some lettuce and tomatoes and they were BOMMMMB! My Frida Torta was BIG and accompanied with shoe string fries, ketchup and another dipping sauce. The sandwich was big and the bread was very soft. The only thing that could have made it better was some spiciness. The staff was super friendly and helpful and nice and the cook waved G'Bye to us and invited us back. Great place to grab a quick, decent, inexpensive bite!

I found myself on a vacation and I had Uber Eats as my only option so I ordered a torta from La torta Plaza, hoping it would be everything that I've been missing the last nine months, but sadly nine months and a way overpriced to. I was very disappointed with my experience here something was just off. It was not authentic whatsoever and that just kind of sucked.

One glance at top coffee spots in the area and we were sold on Malvia! We called an Uber to take us over. Once dropped off on Avenida Revolución we read in other reviews that the shop can be a challenge to find - but we are a persistent bunch and figured it out. Here are simple directions to locate it: find the gastropub La Justina on Revolucion and walk down the stairs to the left of it. Then proceed forward until you see the unmistakably unique and cute decor of Malvia on the left. There are several tables outside then the coffee bar space at the store front. All the drinks looked delightful and it was a tough decision to select just one drink. A friend opted for an iced drink with coconut and espresso, I chose the "Dorado" which featured turmeric. It was sumptuous and refreshing - with a gold appearance from the turmeric. The espresso was tasty and there was just the right amount of sweetness. Super refreshing and highly recommended. Service was kind and prices are super reasonable. The sitting area was unique too - there's other neat stores in the area and the temperature was nice since we were underground. Overall, Malvia was excellent and definitely worth checking out. Thanks for the memorable experience!

The first few times I had come to grab a coffee, Malvia was either closed or I was just unable to find them. If you are using Google Maps my best advice is to get to the corner of Madero and Third and enter one of several doors which will lead you into a large market style space. Malvia is about a shoe-boxed sized cafe in Zona Centro. There are several tables in the front with seating for probably around twenty. On the afternoon of a June day I visited and ordered an iced latte. It was 45 pesos and probably around twenty ounces. It was very delicious and I was happy to sip on it while I walked to Gastro Telefonica. Malvia definitely fits into to the Tijuana craft coffee scene and I highly recommend you stop by to try out a caffeinated drink.
