He identified the problem in the attic but couldn't solve. They sent a second crew; they traced every electrical outlet on the circuit. Finally one guy went into the attic, removed the HVAC air handler cover and discovered a loose wire nut. Sent me a bill for $800+. The first electrician should have Sisu the problem in 5 minutes. I negotiated the price down but still feel ripped off.

I took it to the Gulf Breeze store last month to get them to fix leak and to show me where the spring gets hooked up on the carborator and they couldn't tell me - they had to look it up so I had to leave it there and they charged me $56. to put it on. They told me it needed a new carborator - I said no - took it home and hooked up water and it started just fine. I called Seville power Equipment to explain what happened and James was kind enough to ask me to bring it there for them to make it right. They fixed it and it works great! Gadsden Electrical replaced my elderly 100 amp panel with a 200 amp in less than a day. The old…read morepanel (40 years of age) had a menagerie of wild wiring that was tamed. Also, the old house had some problems inside. The exploratory crew which was Tyson and PJ found rodent-chewed wiring as well as other issues. They also figured out where electrical wires, which were literally poking out of drywall, led and either decommissioned the wires or remade them into the light switches they once were. Tyson and PJ also did an awesome job of installing new electric boxes for my ceiling fans. This old house is no longer such a fire hazard and has light again.

Anyway no one arrived and there was no answer at the local Gulf Breeze Florida office. Apparently the owner, who is physically located in western Pennsylvania, has implemented efficiency measures he learned during his short tenure at McKinsey and Company. These efficiency measures may work in other industries, but obviously not this one. Perhaps had the owner been employed at Bain he would have learned the best way to maximize revenue and control expenses is by MBWA (Management by Walking Around) as opposed to making decisions for a Florida based company from western Pennsylvania...
