Words cannot describe how fantastic this adventure was!!! The natural beauty of the north side that can only be seen by boat was unbelievable! Our crew was exceptional, Danny & Kele are the best!!! Would absolutely recommend this tour company! Thank you for making this a day we will never forget

We had an amazing time today with Captain Maka and Connor on the Na Pali Beach Landing Adventure. We saw dolphins (even a baby dolphin), went in caves, snorkeled and saw the most amazing sites on the landing. You should definitely read the description (they are very detailed and accurate) because you are sitting on the edge of an inflatable raft/boat holding on to a rope for a full hour (one way). They took a few stops to let everyone stretch. I'm not in the most amazing shape ever and I had a blast. I was the only one who got sea sick and Conner and Captain Maka were accommodating and helpful. I had been on the front of the boat and they had me go to the back with a can of sprite (they gave me - few options, including ginger-ale). Everyone we interacted with at check in were super nice and friendly

AMAZING! INCREDIBLE! Just WOW! This adventure exceeded all my dreams and so much more! The staff deserves 5 stars--Captain Aka and Anson were top-notch, exceeding all expectations. They were attentive, caring, and engaging, making this phenomenal adventure truly UNFORGETTABLE! The views--absolutely breathtaking! Each scene felt like a postcard, especially as we navigated the incredible caves with Captain Aka, a master at maneuvering through every twist and turn. What a thrill! The sea life was equally stunning! We encountered many dolphins (with their tiny babies!), a sea turtle, and countless fish. This was an experience of a lifetime, made perfect by Captain Aka and Anson. Anson is also the BEST photographer! Their passion for their work is infectious, and their excitement added to the joy of the excursion. THANK YOU AKA and ANSON!! THIS EXCURSION IS A MUST!

When someone in our group booked this boat tour, I was a little skeptical--I don't love being on the water. But after our five-hour coast adventure, this Blue Ocean Adventure Tour was one of my top highlights from my trip to Kauai! Our crew were fun and provided a nice history of Kauai, pointing out caves and waterfalls and beaches along the Nāpali Coast. Though it's not guaranteed, we saw several whales, a pod of nearly 100 dolphins, and a sea turtle on our ride too! For those who want to, there are a couple of opportunities to swim in the ocean, and there's even a giant slide off of the big boat. The crew provides chips, drinks (no alcohol), and pineapple topped with Li Hing Mui powder, which was my very favorite. I can't stop talking about this adventure with my family and friends and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a fun time on Kauai!

SO MUCH FUN! What better way to experience the beautiful island of Kaua'i than the blue ocean waters, sea life animals, and fun in the sun! We are locals that visited from Oahu and our boat friends (Maka and Grace) took such good care of us and made our experience so fun. We got to see dolphins which was the highlight of the trip. So worth the $$ and we will definitely be back!

    The Awesome Cave

We had the best time with Captain Maka and 1st Mate Kele! They were laid back and let us take in the breathtaking views, while giving us great island info and laughs. Not to mention, great sing along music. Definitely the highlight of our trip and worth every penny. Mahalo!

Best girls adventure ever!! Breathtaking and once in a lifetime trip. Na Pali coast was awesome, spinning dolphins were amazing. Ocean was so beautiful and calming. Just what I needed. So much fun and excitement. Big Mahalo to Capt Maka and Capt Kelci for making our trip amazing and one to cherish forever!!

Carly and Nikki are the BEST crew! The vibe and their energy was UNMATCHED. Genuinely the best time- speeeeeedy boat, swimming and snorkeling. If you like roller coasters, jet skis, or riding dragons this is your thing but it's definitely a wild ride. Great music. The most gorgeous views of the coast and going in the sea caves was unreal. I recommend this 1000% if you want to have the time of your life.

Once in a lifetime experience! My family and I had the pleasure of being with Captain Kevin, Stephen and Carly and they were outstanding. They were super friendly, fun and informative and made sure everyone was comfortable and got the most out of this tour. We got to see the breathtaking Na Pali coast and sailed up very close to many sea caves. We were also lucky enough to have spinner dolphins swim next to our boat. Snorkelling along the coastline is a must. Please do not miss out on booking with Blue Ocean Adventures! Thank you to our guides for making this an unforgettable experience!

How's the NA PALI COAST AFTERNOON ADVENTURE TOUR in the beginning of April? Rough, bumpy and is it back friendly?

Would you recommend the morning or evening boat tour?

Morning in the winter, and Evening in the summer! They said they don't even prefer to run the afternoon tours in the winter months, but in the summer if they get a good group, they said they sometimes stay out on the water until the stars come out!

Is this not recommended for an 18mo child?

I would say no- it’s really bumpy and it’s a basically a classy raft; you have to hold on to not fall out, and you sit on the sides

Hi everyone! Did most people get sea sick? I have a phobia of vomit, but really want to see the Napoli Coast. Please let me know. Thanks so much!

Several people on my tour got sea sick, including my husband. It's not so much when you're moving but when the boat stops and it's just floating in the waves. If you're worried about getting sea sick, just take some dramamine, eat a light meal…

Captain Dom was the perfect mix of chill, knowledgeable, and safety-conscious--dude knew exactly how to handle the boat, even when we got up close and personal with some pretty intense waves near the cliffs and caves. And Chaz? Absolute legend. Kept the vibes light with some solid (and delightfully cheesy) jokes, plus he snapped a ton of pics so we could actually enjoy the moment without worrying about our phones. But the real highlights? Getting insanely close to the cliffs and feeling the sheer power of the ocean, then just floating out in the middle of nowhere, taking it all in. Oh, and did I mention we saw THREE whale breaches and a bunch of dolphins? Unreal. If you're on the fence, take this as your sign to book it. Zero regrets, just pure adventure.

I chose makana charters because of how detailed they were in their information as different tours tour the coast in different areas. With this tour, included lunch and snorkeling. What I didn't want was a fancy lunch because what I'm really there for is to see the Na Pali Coast and everything else was just an extra for me. The lunch was very simple which I like especially because it can get very nauseous. I wanted to do the snorkeling part, but I also wanted my husband to do it, but he's not a confident swimmer so I stayed with him and watched people snorkel which was totally fine. We did the early morning tour and it was beautiful! The weather was perfect! Our tour guides went around us as we were enjoying the way to the coast and asked us where we were from. They also showed us the forbidden island and told us some history of the island and how certain areas locals would camp but a permit would be needed. They also tried to get into caves as deep as they can go and also showed us where Mary J Blige recorded her music video for everything. We also saw some dolphins going and come back from the coast! Some positives about this tour includes: free parking by their main stop, an emcee that was quite hilarious, a boat captain that made the boat ride at 15 knots super fun, and some history lessons along with the tour. So what was wrong? The area where we were snorkeling was quite bland. We only saw a few fish and didnt see a turtle until after we all got on the boat. After only about 30 min of snorkeling around I was bored (they give you an hour). At the beginning of the tour we were told that if you feel sick at anytime, to let them know and they'll have some remedies. Well...when I came back on the boat after snorkeling, I started feeling woozy. It was mainly because the boat was anchored and started swaying. I did take Dramamine an hour before the trip so that helped a little. I told one of the crew members how I was feeling and her suggestion was, "I would stand in the back so noone will see you get sick. Also, I wouldn't go in the bathroom because the enclosed space will make you feel worse." Not the remedies I was expecting. haha. I did not take her advice. Instead I stayed standing in the front and looked at the horizon as everyone else was enjoying their sandwiches and chips. The captain, at least, gave me a little piece of mind by telling me he'll have us back on shore in 50 minutes. So I stood there, feeling like I was on a speed boat, jumping with every big wave, wind blowing my hair and salty water on my face. Surprisingly, I felt better after that ride back. But I felt a whole lot better being on land.

It will NOT be fun if you underestimate it.) Check-In staff was super friendly, and personal. They remembered me from my original email. Sweet. Parking was easy. Shuttles team was super friendly. The strangers we rode with, all turned out to be cool. 2 boats go out (mini-catamarans, with cover from the sun). They expertly traverse the waves, and cliffs, and the caves, giving you some amazing first-hand visuals and photos. But yeah, that boat will be a rockin', during those up-close cave moments. Spoiler: You probably won't see whales, unless you're there before May. But we DID see a cute pod of Dolphins, who cozy'd up to our boat for a while. Our boat had Casey and Spencer. They were wise beyond their years, in all things Kauai. Funny and friendly. Spencer navigated the heck out of those waves, while Casey handled the nauseous passengers with MOTHERLY CARE. Spencer was 50/50 on allowing us to snorkel, based on conditions and a previous scare, a few weeks prior. But he ultimately made the call to GET IN THE WATER. He wisely kept us on a leash (not literally), whistling at swimmers when they got too close to a reef (with waves that could wash you onto the reef). It was fun and chill. Saw a HUGE, MASSIVE KING DADDY SEA TURTLE. He did not enjoy us as much as we enjoyed him and he bounced. Followed by a JR. Turtle, who stuck around a bit longer. Tons of fish. Spencer & Casey gave us good food and hike recommendations, and everyone treated us like friends / family. Highly recommend this team if you're going out.
