We saw whales, dolphins, insane coastline views, jumped off the raft, and rode waves in a way that had us screaming and laughing the whole time The captain (I'm SO mad I forgot his name... maybe Andy? ) handled that zodiac raft like a pro. Seriously unreal. And Steve was amazing too -- at one point he said he barely even needed to play music because we were all just vibing, talking, and having such a good time together. We went on the Na Pali Adventure tour, and the experience was just amazing from start to finish. The tour involved Zodiac rafts that moved at high speed across the ocean on the way to the Na Pali Coast. Our pilot Kelsey was super fun as a host, and performed many thrilling moves with the raft. He also put on lots of great music to make the ride even more fun. The tour gave us excellent views of the cliffs at Na Pali, as well as close ups of some of the sea caves. We also stopped for some snorkeling and snacks at one point. Another bonus was coming across many groups of dolphins during our ride, as well as several whales. All in all, I highly recommend Blue Ocean for a fun and thrilling Na Pali Coast tour. read more

My husband and I had the adventure of a lifetime on our zodiac tour yesterday! Captain Kelci and crew mate Connor were quite the duo - from the "karaoke" music, to the stellar cave tours, to the dolphins, endangered Hawaiian seals, and sea turtle sightings, to the photo backdrops - they truly thought of everything and ensured we had plenty of time to take photos and videos. We were blessed with the most amazing weather and the ocean was fairly calm as well, so that definitely contributed to an amazing time! Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a good time! We had an amazing time today with Captain Maka and Connor on the Na Pali Beach Landing Adventure. We saw dolphins (even a baby dolphin), went in caves, snorkeled and saw the most amazing sites on the landing. You should definitely read the description (they are very detailed and accurate) because you are sitting on the edge of an inflatable raft/boat holding on to a rope for a full hour (one way). They took a few stops to let everyone stretch. I'm not in the most amazing shape ever and I had a blast. I was the only one who got sea sick and Conner and Captain Maka were accommodating and helpful. I had been on the front of the boat and they had me go to the back with a can of sprite (they gave me - few options, including ginger-ale). We had a 5 star experience with Aka, Mana and Kaylen. While our original north shore tour was changed due to rough seas, we really enjoyed our south shore tour with Aka, Mana and Kaylen. When someone in our group booked this boat tour, I was a little skeptical--I don't love being on the water. But after our five-hour coast adventure, this Blue Ocean Adventure Tour was one of my top highlights from my trip to Kauai! Our crew were fun and provided a nice history of Kauai, pointing out caves and waterfalls and beaches along the Nāpali Coast. Though it's not guaranteed, we saw several whales, a pod of nearly 100 dolphins, and a sea turtle on our ride too! For those who want to, there are a couple of opportunities to swim in the ocean, and there's even a giant slide off of the big boat. The crew provides chips, drinks (no alcohol), and pineapple topped with Li Hing Mui powder, which was my very favorite. Truly the best and deservedly a 5-star adventure tour company in Kaua'i! I'm not much of a water person (I prefer hiking adventures and experiences), but after doing my research, Blue Ocean Adventure Tours does such an excellent job of conducting their tours to the Na Pali Coast and they even offer Kama'aina discounts for the residents of Hawaii. They have a variety of Zodiac Tours and Catamaran Tours available. On my April 2024 visit, it was Captain Danny and Connor on this particular Zodiac Tour that features a beach landing and tour of Nualolo Kai (an ancient Hawaiian fishing village), and they are both awesome in their expertise and experience! They pointed out the waterfalls, various beaches and caves within Na Pali Coast! We even saw a pod of bottlenose dolphins on the way to Na Pali Coast and then back to the harbor, and also saw some sea turtles on the beach at Nualolo Kai. Just make sure you are always following the safety protocol and especially on these 24 ft. Zodiac rafts, as they are high speed, and there are rough waves and unpredictable ocean conditions; it is physically strenuous. Lots of photo opportunities and lots of fun along the way! Totally recommend and certainly hope to do another tour with Blue Ocean Adventures down the road! read more

I booked this tour with my boyfriend, 9 year old child and parents for my 35th birthday. We are originally from Oahu but this has been on my bucket list for years and it absolutely did not disappoint. Captain Maka and Anson were great guides and extremely accommodating to my child who hand a small hand injury. We did the afternoon tour but as we were told had out of the ordinary pristine conditions. We saw a pod of spinner dolphins as well as a few bottle nose dolphins. The ocean was the most beautiful turquois blue that I had ever seen. Captain Maka was extremely skilled with his craft and got us up close and personal to the cliff edges and into the caves. We did the beach landing tour and was able to snorkel at the beach landing. The snorkeling at the beach landing was also great. There were a ton of fish but also very large fish that kind of surprised me. The boat was equipped with all the snorkeling gear you could need. Anson took us through a tour of the old fishing community and explained old hawaiian traditions and practices. It was a great trip filled with adventure, education, relaxation and everything I could have imagined. I look forward to booking again in the future for a round 2. read more

I had no idea what to expect as the wife booked this excursion. If the wife and my youngest say this is the best excursion we've done ever then you know it's going to be 5 stars. We've been to Hawaii over a dozen times in the past decade visiting all the islands. We went kayaking and hiking to the Secret Falls and inner tubing down the mountains but this was awesome. Our captain, Aka and 1st mate Jeri were top notch. He was a karaoke DJ controlling the music while simultaneously being the comedic tour guide. We left super early from the hotel as we were on the east side of the island and had to get to the south west by 7:00am. The boat fit about 12 people and there is a rope on the floor you put your foot/feet under to make sure you don't fall off and 2 ropes that you can hold where you sit as well. He said people usually lose their hats in the first couple minutes after taking off and that's because he puts it in high gear to get to the Napali Coast. Honestly you probably don't need a towel as it's super windy and you dry off. You see the dolphins and talks about them. You go through the caves at a slow and fast pace. You can take a picture jumping off the boat with the famous Napali Coast in the background. He takes you to an area to snorkel and we all said there were more fish there than any of our trips to the Molokini Crater in Maui. Both Jeri and Aka made everyone feel safe and accommodating every step of the way. It's probably best to go early because the waves were so much calmer and easier to see the fish when snorkeling. He did mention the day before was much different, so hopefully you book early and enjoy your best excursion too. read more

This tour was absolutely EPIC! We have visited Kauai more than 6 times and have always wanted to do this. This time we did and it was hands down the best adventure on the island by far. Our boat Captain (Keaka) made it even better with his enthusiasm, high energy, and music selection for the tour. We went into several caves, saw dolphins, sea turtles, and then best of all, watched a mama whale teaching her baby how to tail flap, show her tail, and flap in the water for 25-30 minutes. We went on a whale watching tour and didn't see a quarter of what we saw with Blue Ocean adventures. The water was super clear and little to no waves on the day we went. Even the crew couldn't belive how great it was on the water. We even went snorkeling for 20-30 minutes in in eif the coves and tgat was beautiful. Highly recommend this company and I know everyone says it's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. We will probably do it every year we come here. Sooo much fun. read more

Yes, the scenery is breath taking but over 5 hours of getting your ass pounded on a rubber boat was intense. The captain definitely makes you understand you're not Hawaiian, with little comments like "oh look, it's the state bird....the helicopter". it's funny how much the resent the "mainland" but rely on it for their paychecks. I will say that the lunch provided was excellent but i would have rather had a two hour coastal view there and back vs what we did. If you're personality is not the life of the party be warned....they speak in pigeon and pau'ole isn't a decent word. I'd much rather pay for a helicopter tour, see the island, and not be demonized for not being Hawaiian. read more

Unforgettable experience!!! We did the napali excursion with beach landing and snorkel! If you go with this company, you must do the beach landing. Napali is a magical place. The valley of kings has a powerful energy. It is where the King's bones we're buried. They believed the energy/mana was in the bones so a poor person would bury the bones and then cut the rope to their death so enemies won't get the King's bones!!!!!! Like wow!!!!!!!!! A lot of their lore reminds me of a mix of Egyptian and Filipino legends. Anyways -- you also get to snorkel first for about 30-40 min. Some people skipped it and opted to relax on the beach. You also get time for lunch-- they were very helpful with our dietary restrictions. Since my husband is vegetarian and I don't eat pork. Then you get a tour of the island for about another hour or so. You get to see the famous X- that marks the Polynesian triangle - mysterious - obvs aliens Also TURTLES!!! And the nomi fruit -- anti cancer -- I tried it!! It's not very sweet -- stinky and bitter -- but Aren't most healthy things have that funk lol It's really great to break up the ride with some time on land. En route we saw - dolphins spinners -- very friendly come up to the boat Whales!!! From a distance The ride can be bumpy and some people in our group had a hard time. If you get nauseous easily you may opt for the catamaran boat tours -- but with those you can't see the caves closer and no beach landing. I thought it was pretty cool to be on a zodiac navy type raft. Much more power than expected. Plus you can really go with the waves. Such an amazing experience. If you're going to Kauai, you gotta do this catamaran or hike Awaawahupi Trail to witness the majesty of these cliffs. It's eye opening. Other-worldly. Our captain and crew were so amazing. We went up to the front of the boat to go along the bumpy, treacherous waves and they laughed with us. Don't go up there if you get scared or queasy. Not for the weak! The boat ride is amazing. The captain talks a lot about the history or specific spots so you are learning at the same time. The crew answers any question you have. They seem to really enjoy what they do and it shows. The snorkel spot was pretty forgettable. About 20 feet down you saw only a couple ordinary fish. Not a great spot. I liked the slip and slide though that they splash water on. Fun. Lunch was in a plastic container but it actually hit so well! It was fried shrimp, teriyaki chicken, rice, and Kailua pork. So good! We loved it. Perfect weather and they said they weren't sure how it would pan out. It planned out fantastic! Nice of them to offer refunds if you wanted to not chance the weather. read more

First off I have to say that Danny and Kelci are both the best characters and Funtime vibes anytime can experience while on an adventure! The views were breathtaking and the atmosphere was super chill but also welcoming. Seeing the North Coast of Kauai with all its lush splendor and then dipping into the ocean for a nice break to snorkel with delicious pineapple waiting when we came up, was such a good way to experience the island life. The trip took a delightful turn on the way back when we got to experience some spinner dolphins that were grabbing some dinner along the boat. Recently booked a tour with Blue Ocean Adventures and I have to say it did not disappoint! My girlfriend and I booked the raft boat tour instead of the big boat they also offer. We loved every second of it. Captain AJ and Connor were extremely informative during the whole expedition and were pretty funny as well. He drove us out to see some whales and dolphins as well as the Na Pali coast. We saw awesome caves and were able to jump in to the open ocean and swim around, such an amazing experience. Due to our safety and the water being extremely choppy and unsafe Aj and the other captains on other boats made the decision to skip the snorkeling due to safety precautions of us the guests. This was because a big storm was coming to the island later that same night and was causing some high winds. This did not take away from the experience in any way, which should say something! We had some snacks provided for free by Aj and Connor which was very nice. While driving along the coastline we saw wild goats walking along the beach. Got to swim again for a little bit longer in the open ocean which we loved every bit of it. If you have a chance to book a tour, do not hesitate because you will not be disappointed ! read more
