We booked a 1-hour sunset helicopter tour and were quoted a flat rate of $600 for two people. The flight itself was beautiful -- the views were incredible and something we'll always remember. Unfortunately, the experience ended on a disappointing note due to communication and billing issues. When we arrived, we discovered there was an additional 2.7% credit card fee that had not been disclosed ahead of time. More concerning, about 30 minutes into the flight the pilot descended to land because he believed we had booked only a 30-minute ride. We were surprised because we had clearly scheduled a 1-hour sunset flight two months earlier, and our name was even listed on the schedule board for a one-hour tour. After we clarified the misunderstanding, we went back up and completed the full flight. However, when we landed, we were told the total would now be $775 because we had gone slightly over the hour -- even though the extra time resulted from the earlier misunderstanding, not from any request on our part. After discussion, the total was slightly reduced, but we still ended up paying more than the original quoted amount. I'm sharing this mainly so future customers can be prepared to ask questions about timing, billing policies, and additional fees before flying. Hubs and I celebrated our anniversary with a helicopter ride around Atlanta over the summer. We purchased a Groupon deal. The deal had two options: over Atlanta or over Lake Lanier. We chose Atlanta. Booking was easy and went smoothly. The staff was very friendly over the phone and in person. Blue Ridge Helicopter is located at Gwinnett Airport in Lawrenceville. The first date we chose unfortunately didn't work out. Heavy rain was expected that afternoon. Our pilot Chris did not recommend us flying that afternoon and asked if we were open to rescheduling. We rescheduled for a couple of weeks ahead and the weather was perfect! Chris is experienced and was very knowledgeable of Atlanta history and landmarks. They informed us that if we wanted to book again in the future, we would pay the same Groupon rate. Very competitive to other helicopter tours! read more

Beautiful clear and sunny for our 50 minute flight to downtown Atlanta and back to Gwinette Regional Airport. Our pilot was great and made us feel comfortable the entire flight. Very enjoyable and plan on doing this again sometime. read more

Great experience with a great pilot. From arrival to departure, there is not anything I can complain about. We booked our helicopter experience through Groupon and I think the price is very reasonable. We were lucky to be flying on a very clear day so the view was beautiful from up above. We did have to make several phone calls due to my own personal schedule and they were very accommodating every time, never seemed to be upset at us. The pilot even showed us some hovering techniques of flying because my husband asked about the process of getting a pilot license. If this is something on your bucket list, I definitely recommend giving them a try! read more

I booked with Blue Ridge Helicopters out of Norwood, Ma and the entire experience was so much more than I hoped for! This was a gift for my boyfriend's birthday and worth every penny. His instructors and/or piolet's name was Nicholas. He had a great personality, was extremely knowledgeable, and it was important to him to make our experience a memorable one.
