I don't understand the previous review (and why it is the only one showing up?). Sandy shot my wedding three weeks ago, along with another lady whose name unfortunately escapes me. They were both so lovely that, even though I usually just use Yelp to read other people's reviews, I thought I should write one myself. I first met Sandy several months before the wedding. She was extremely warm, friendly, and professional on our first meeting -- and was just that way every other time I spoke with her, on the wedding day, and again this week when I went in to see the proofs. The day of the wedding I was especially impressed: she and her assistant were so enthusiastic and upbeat, all through the long, hot, humid (in Santa Fe?!) day. Even when we were getting tired and cranky, these ladies kept the mood up -- no small job, I'm sure. They also got loads of different shots in different places without being at all intrusive; Sandy checked to make sure we didn't mind when she would pull us aside for more pictures, for example, when the light happened to be good (we had bad weather that day). In addition, we got married at the Loretto Chapel, which has tight restrictions on how long you can be in the chapel, and Sandy was extremely efficient at getting everyone who needed to be photographed where they needed to be, while still being pleasant. My proofs came in yesterday; I was actually pretty worried about what I would see, only because my husband and I are both really unphotogenic. I was honestly shocked when I saw them -- I have never seen such good pictures of the two of us! And so many of them, at that! I really don't know how Sandy did it, but she got genuine smiles out of us, rather than the forced, awkward looks that normally turn up in our pictures. They far exceeded my expectations -- really beautiful work. The only negative thing I can say is that the albums are pricey -- but they are absolutely beautiful, so there's that. But my overall experience with Sandy -- both the quality of her work, and her customer service -- was just wonderful. She was a pleasure from start to finish, and we LOVE the pictures. Sandy, owner of Blue Rose Studios did the photography for my daughters wedding from engagement photos to the rehearsal dinner at Rio Chama, wedding ceremony at Loretto Chapel and reception at the La Terraza Room at the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe. It was a destination wedding for almost all of our guests, many of which had their first Santa Fe experience. The September wedding was truly amazing and Sandy captured each and every moment with her masterful eye. We treated our guests to a welcoming reception with a Flamenco Show to get things rolling - the photos she took of our family are some of the best I've seen from my children to my 88 yr old mother, photos I will cherish the rest of my life. The next day she arrived at the La Posada Spa and captured my daughter, her sisters & my mother again getting their hair and make up done and the wonderful time we had there. The Loretto Hotel was where all the bridesmaids, flower girls and the Bride dressed so many precious moments there leading into the pre ceremony photos and then the treasured ceremony itself. Hard to hold back the tears. My family expressed how very comfortable they felt having Sandy take their photos. She put everyone at ease. She just knows her craft & the photos reflected that and are spectacular. Following the ceremony the Mariachi's led our guests to the La Terraza Room at La Fonda Hotel and Sandy stayed with us until the very end of night. Such a wonderful evening everything was perfect , the music, the food, the service, the toasts all perfect and Sandy got it all! The memories of that night are always present and are in the most beautiful and elegant book they designed which holds a proud place on my coffee table. Sandy from Blue Rose shot the photos for my daughter's Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding Ceremony and Reception. We were at Rio Chama Restaurant, the Loretto Chapel, and the La Terraza Room at La Fonda Hotel, Santa Fe NM. She was there from the begining to the end with her assistant, covering every aspect. She even shot the preparation for the Ceremony as the bride, bridesmaids and wedding party became even more beautiful with the help of talented hair and make up experts. But at no point was she invaisive or distracting to the proceedings. Sandy is a rare combination of talents - she is personable, kind, cheerful and considerate; she has a great work ethic - precise, methodical and a perfectionist; she also has something that cannot be learned - a God-given talent for composition and capturing magical moments of life in a picture. She is an artist, and photography feeds her soul. I know a little bit about this as I studied fine art and photography for 4 years in college, and have been a gallery painter, an illustrator and graphic artist in Los Angeles - including contributing to well known movie posters, and to special effects.I was used to having my own work scruitinized by art directors with a lupe (magnifying glass). In other words I have an educated eye and high standards in visual aesthetics. Sandy did not dissapoint: her photographs of my family and friends were some of the best ever taken of them. Precious momentos of a wonderful day in our lives, frozen in time. We have these in a stunning custom made book. A momento we will tresure for the rest of our lives. Every time I look back on my wedding photos I think how amazing my wedding day was! It was the best day and part of what made it so amazing was Sandy and her team at Blue Rose Photography- she was such a special part of our day. Our engagement & wedding albums are top quality and she was such a pleasure to work with. I have never enjoyed so much being photographed. Sandy drove to beautiful Jemez to photograph my three girls using the beautiful red rocks as a backdrop. The photos were amazing. The natural lighting back lit my girls long hair making for a beautiful effect. She captured all of their personalities ... even my ornery little one who only wanted to sit in the warmth of my car. Sandy wouldn't quit until she knew she had the amazing photos she did and I am thrilled. I sent the photos to my in-laws in PA and they were overwhelmed ... they loved them so much.
