The waiter who served on us all night knew an astonishing amount about the items on the menu and even helped to give advice on what to get, listing the main ingredients and flavours of meals, similar meals to give us an idea of something we hadn't tried, spiciness levels, and even how much rice to get so that we didn't end up ordering way too much. Subsequently we just about managed to devour everything on the table and none of us were left wanting for anything. The restaurant is just one ambient room, with dimmed lights and elegant presentation but it isn't huge, so on a weekend it may be an idea to book in advance, especially given the quality of the food. Unfortunately Wednesday nights didn't seem to be too popular as we were one of just two sets of customers. I would, however, recommend this curryhouse to anyone and everyone regardless of how many people visit it on weeknights. Two sets of customers came in to pick up orders, and if you are in Motherwell and fancy a take-away I would urge you to ring Indian Villa instead of just heading to the nearest take-away. Price-wise it wouldn't be much more and taste-wise there is no contest. Very presentable eating area, surprisingly knowledgable and friendly staff, and incredible food make this a top, top curryhouse.

I am usually a "korma" girl but decided to try the Chicken Tikka Massala. Nothing ventured, nothing gained was my thinking but I did gain. Hotter than my usual korma but thoroughly enjoyed it. Rice and Peshwari Naan great as usual. Had a beer with a touch of lemonade, ok 2, (not driving) and they went down a treat. Enjoyed the food and look forward to another visit.

The manager/owner is always very welcoming and remembers you which is nice. He is very chatty and finds out what's happening in your life especially if you haven't been in for a while. It was quit busy last night but we got a table easily without booking. We always get the three curry buffet which come with starters popadoms, rice and nan as well as tea/coffee and desert but we can never finish the curries between two. The only issue last night was that they threw our dodgy bag away which we waited for for 10mins after paying but it's probably a blessing in disguise a c they apologized. I always recommend here and my family & friends love it.

It seems to have either changed management or been refurbished or closed and re-opened numerous times; I've never really managed to keep track. Although it's cheaper than many take-aways in the area (of which there are many!), it's also a bit sub-par. I know I'd much rather pay 7 quid for a curry over at Madras Cottage than suffer their stale, shrivelled up mushroom pakora ever again. The delivery drivers tend to have good banter, but as far as the food is concerned, I'd give it a miss.
