I had fun drawing with my non dominant hand, sketching without looking at what I was doing, and other fun and hilarious experiments like musical chairs where everyone gets to help finish everyone else's drawing. It went from being a little shy and awkward at first to everyone letting go and having fun. The giggling while sketching is not so much about the subject matter as it is about how you are training yourself to draw without expectation and enjoying the experience. I've never really drawn to dance music before, but it kept a high class party vibe going. I'm not goi g to complain about the very attractive and shirtless models that were there to assist me if I needed a sharpened pencil. I found myself bonding with strangers who became friends and class mates and I would say that this experience helped me to relax and to laugh and to get into my creative mind when I needed it most. I walked in super stressed out from the week, and left feeling excited about trying to draw more at home. I think this would be fun for anyone to try and they can come to your home! I would say it would be great at a birthday party or an office party or some kind of social gathering where you needed to break the ice and step out of your comfy zone. No experience required just an open mind and a positive attitude! The human form is beautiful and if you have any hang ups or shame issues I would say this is a great way to overcome them. By the end of the class the naked body became the subject matter and I had completely forgotten about the fact that they were naked. It made me think about how much I accept my own body and it was a very healthy activity to try. I would recommend this for anyone!

It was a drop in event so you could arrive anytime between 8pm and 11pm. On arrival there were no instructions beyond grab an apron and canvas and sit wherever. If I didn't frequent sip and paint events I would have been completely lost. The canvas designs was cute and there were several adult themed ones for "Freaky Friday". The brushes and paint were definitely low quality and wouldn't mix/ blend well. There were no rags or paper towels however we did receive a few napkins. All of the supplies honestly gave very much Dollar Tree. During the event, the entire studio was illuminated by a red light which was not conducive to a painting experience. You couldn't see the true colors you were using or mixing without utilizing the flashlight from our cellphones. Even still the red looked orange. I'm not sure if the "DJ" was the owner/manager. It seemed they were playing music of a music app but instead of having a playlist he was playing random songs which was not making smooth transitions.

We showed up for our 6 o'clock class and didnt get painting until close to 6:45 because we were just waiting around for someone to get us started. For what it is, I think it's way too expensive. $45 to paint a canvas in a blacklist setting... wild. The paint and canvas you use probably costs $7, if that.
