Toilet and shower facilities let it down, basic and old, and not cleaned overnight. Only one dump site for waste from RV which must get overused in summer. Also far from our site and tricky getting caravan near it. On site villas that overlook sea with hot tubs. Backpacker accommodations also so everyone covered.

The rooms are arranged in cabins that seem to be built with 2 guest rooms per cabin. The downside is that the walls are thin and faint muffled voices can be heard at times from the opposite room. The bathroom has a stand alone tub with rain shower, although I would have preferred a walk-in shower instead. The room was clean and spacious. The balcony has a view of the trees. There also seems to be a lack of space to lay luggage on and the bathroom door is right beside the bed. We ended up ordering room service since we arrived in the evening. Not sure if they were busy, but the food we ordered took a while to be delivered. Overall, not a bad place to stay. I would recommend this hotel and resort to anyone traveling in the area.

Well done to the team at Cooks Beach Resort we would happily stay longer but reality and bills are waiting at home.

We had booked a studio, which had a bed, mini fridge w/fresh milk, outdoor patio. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach along the verge. So why did I love staying that the Church so much? Well, the staff were amazing. They had a cute dog that roamed around that I got to pet. Oh the garden is just breath taking. I'm going to dream of that garden forever, it just can't be real. And at night I could hear the sounds of the waves crashing. I was the most relaxed staying that the Church and was sad the day we had to check out. Some of the perks were they allow for guests to use shovels for hot water beach. Which certainly came in handy digging holes in the hot sand. Also, you can take a beach towel and I noticed a boogie board. There is a lounge room you can read or watch TV, check your email. We didn't use it much, because there was the patio facing the garden. Brekkie is about $12 paid the day before for continental. Let's talk about the restaurant. Ate here on Valentine's Day. We made sure to make our reservations. Gorgeous restaurant inside an old wooden church. You can eat inside or outdoors. My husband order the muscles and a beer, I ordered the baked eggplant with a glass of wine. Perfect meal.

We chose this location because it was on the water for our last nights in New Zealand. We had no…read moreidea how wonderful this place would be. We were greeted with wine and cheese and the most incredible steak and fish dinner. We had Dinner outside our room on the water while we watched the sunset. The accommodations are 5 star and we had a wonder relaxing sleep. In the morning we woke to another delightful meal and enjoyed the conversations with Dale and Margaret. They are incredible hosts. Dale is a great chef and Margaret provided me with natural remedies for my arthritis. We truly hated to leave their place. This is the place to go for Relaxation and rejuvenation. Can't wait for our next trip back to Te Puru.
