I have had my Mitsubishi' brakes fixed somewhere else which they were not good enough to replace the brakes perfectly. Therefore, my car's engine light and a bunch of other lights have been remained on. Mahmoud, with his best knowledge, found the origin of the problem and got it fixed. I was unable to make it to his shop on time, so I requested to leave my car at his shop overnight. No problem. I also asked him to leave me the old part so I could see what was broken, which he did. The problem was fixed, and the quote was exactly what he had said. His labour rates are much lower than those of the dealership and he gets the job done. I bought a 2001 Honda Civic LX 2 years ago with 180 000km on it already. I have done my regular oil changes every 5000 km, but the engine was starting to make a few "off" noises and when I went over speed bumps there would be a large clunking noise from the suspension. So back I went and they offered a free quote on what they saw the initial problems being without taking apart the whole engine. I went to two other local repair shops Axle Alley and Rudy & Peters who also offered free quotes but did not go to the extent to show me the actual problems, and both came in a few hundred dollars more. The next day I called David the owner back and they took my car in right away. They fixed the car up and called when they found another small issue with the transmission to see if I wanted to repair it as well .Two days later it was all fixed they threw in a free oil change then Mike the other owner walked me through all the new pieces and changes that had been done. The car is running much better, but it is still early. I do feel as if I have found a trust worthy mechanic here in Vancouver I would be happy to refer my friends to.

After almost 12 months (that's right 1 year) my friends car has finally been returned. Please keep in mind, my friend had to contact a lawyer in order to assist with the return of his vehicle. The condition in which his vehicle was returned to him just shows the lack of care for the consumer and the outright disrespect to provide the service that all these "5 Star" reviews showcase as the quality this so called "Automotive shop" provides. Don't take my word for it, I have receipts - please see all 9 photos below; there is mold build up, a broken window and the brand new battery appears to have been replaced, that's just to name a few.

I've…read morebeen hearing continuous thumping sounds every time I made a turn and the brakes were very soft. As I needs an oil change, I decided to give this place a try. I met with the owner, Ken and explained the problems. He immediately hoisted the car and inspected it while I was there watching. Ken showed me and explained the CV shaft was broken. He also removed the wheels and showed me where the brake fluid was seeping out of the brake cylinders. He explained how they should work and what it should look like. Ken told me that the most important problem to fix at this time was the brake cylinders and that the CV shaft repair could wait. However, I decided to have it all done at once. He phoned different suppliers while I waited to get me the best price for parts. When the job was completed, Ken showed me all the parts that he removed (that I originally saw) and showed me the work he did. No other mechanic has ever done this and I have been driving for over 50 years! This is a one-man show - No Frills but you get an honest mechanic and job well done! I highly recommend H.K. On May 15, 2015, I brought my vehicle to Performance One for an oil change. The oil change was done…read moreincorrectly, which required the car to be towed to the dealership to correct. The dealership diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the issue was caused by over filling engine oil. They also found engine oil on the engine air filter housing, MAF sensor, throttle body, cylinder heads and exhaust. The dealership did not find any pre-existing damage to the vehicle, I paid for the dealership diagnostic examination, repair service and clean up out of my pocket. Performance One denied any wrongdoing, and refused to reimburse me for the monies paid to correct their damage. I had to file a complaint to BC Small Claims Court, wherein the court ruled against Performance One, awarding me with the repair invoice amount, search fees and court fees. The judge also noted that AWG Performance One has wasted my time, their time, and the court time. Making a mistake is one thing, but when a mistake is made by a business, one would expect they would own up to it and not need customers to take them to Court. Wanting to bring your beloved vehicle to Performance One? Think again!

Not withstanding the "comments" from various male friends, I knew the clutch on my 10 year old Nissan Sentra needed to be done. I've had my fair share of distrust over the years of mechanics and repair shops. Most of them seemed like rip off artists to me...speaking down to me as if they were trying to impart knowledge that was way over my head. It always felt like they really just wanted my money. Enter Performance One: I've been coming to Performance One for the last year and a bit for oil changes and such minor things. In that time, I've had some good conversations with the manager, service advisor and both mechanics. Even for a simple oil change, if I had questions, they gave me answers. That makes me feel good. So earlier this week when I went in for my regular oil change and the mechanic said "Your clutch has to be done right away. I'm not kidding. Don't put this off any longer or the transmission could be damaged and then you're really in trouble." It was a no-brainer to get them to do it. I'm not going to kid you, a clutch job is expensive. And I admit, out of curiosity, I called around anyway to get some other quotes...and friends shared their stories of how much they paid over the years for the same kind of work. I found the quote from Performance One to be very reasonable (the quote from my Nissan dealership was outrageous!) The service manager gave me some options to choose from and explained the pro and cons of those options. The mechanic popped his head in and gave his two cents as well. Again, giving me the information helped me feel that I am part of the process and I know what's going on. I took my car in first thing Friday morning and it was done late that afternoon...spending the day in their upstairs lounge as the work went on. AND HOLY CRAP. The clutch they put in is FRICKEN AWESOME. I am so happy! I'm not fighting to get it into 2nd or reverse anymore.
