I feel like by writing an honest review they are going to be slammed with new business and I'm not going to take my usual baby into the shop to get its tune-up. But... they deserve some great credit. It's East Van.. and that being my neighborhood, it usually means cheap. However, when it comes to my car... nothing is cheap. I was so lucky to be recommended this place, because my car has already had a few hiccups and they were right there to solve the problem for me. Somehow this owner has the handle on all the right parts at a great price, when I was paying 2-3 times more in Los Angeles for the same stuff. Labor prices are reasonable and they get the job done quickly. Most of all, they know their stuff, from American to German cars, they've done it all. The owner also spent time working on racecars. The real ones, not that Lamb you have in your garage, which is not a real race car. They also rebuild engines (I saw a Cayenne here the other day they were rebuilding, and a really old Benz), should you need that service. So I'm out with my secret. You can thank me later. I was unable to make it to his shop on time, so I requested to leave my car at his shop overnight. No problem. I also asked him to leave me the old part so I could see what was broken, which he did. The problem was fixed, and the quote was exactly what he had said. His labour rates are much lower than those of the dealership and he gets the job done. Next time I have a problem, I'll be back for sure.

I bought a 2001 Honda Civic LX 2 years ago with 180 000km on it already. I have done my regular oil changes every 5000 km, but the engine was starting to make a few "off" noises and when I went over speed bumps there would be a large clunking noise from the suspension. So back I went and they offered a free quote on what they saw the initial problems being without taking apart the whole engine. I went to two other local repair shops Axle Alley and Rudy & Peters who also offered free quotes but did not go to the extent to show me the actual problems, and both came in a few hundred dollars more. The next day I called David the owner back and they took my car in right away. They fixed the car up and called when they found another small issue with the transmission to see if I wanted to repair it as well .Two days later it was all fixed they threw in a free oil change then Mike the other owner walked me through all the new pieces and changes that had been done. The car is running much better, but it is still early. I do feel as if I have found a trust worthy mechanic here in Vancouver I would be happy to refer my friends to.

It was an early crisp fall Sunday morning when my rear tire started making a grinding noise out of…read moreno where. I had a huge list of things that needed to get done on my one day off this week, but the sounds coming out of that one tire were saying there's now way I could keep driving around without getting it fixed -- I needed some help and fast! I call up Fowler, who I've never used before by the way, after checking auto shops via yelp that are open on a Sunday (not many are). I also called my dealer but of course they don't even answer phones. The guys at Fowler pickup the phone, I explain the issue, and they say "sure come on in today and we'll look at it..." 4 minutes of tire-grind-ouch-driving later and I'm at the shop. They do a quick inspection, move a few cars out of the way for me, and I drive it into the bay. 10mins later they have it all fixed and no more terrible grinding noise. I really appreciate the fact they got me in, were friendly the whole time, and took care of the car and issue. The mechanic says head into the office and we settle up for a very reasonable price. I needed to get home and found H Tech Motor online. I was impressed by their 5 star rating and excellent reviews. Ben greeted me with friendliness and concern, and to my great delight, he was able to rightaway diagnose that my thermostat was badly corroded and needed replacing, and my radiator cap was not sealing properly. The repair costs were reasonable, and 2 days later I was back on the road and drove safely home with no further problems. If I lived in Richmond, H Tech Motor would definitely be my top choice for any future car issues.

After almost 12 months (that's right 1 year) my friends car has finally been returned. Please keep in mind, my friend had to contact a lawyer in order to assist with the return of his vehicle. The condition in which his vehicle was returned to him just shows the lack of care for the consumer and the outright disrespect to provide the service that all these "5 Star" reviews showcase as the quality this so called "Automotive shop" provides. Don't take my word for it, I have receipts - please see all 9 photos below; there is mold build up, a broken window and the brand new battery appears to have been replaced, that's just to name a few.

I'm extremely disappointed after having this vehicle independently inspected…read more Before purchasing the car, I spoke directly with Tuan because he was the mechanic who had been servicing the vehicle. I was told that Tuan had actually inspected the car the DAY BEFORE I spoke with him, so I specifically asked him about the condition of the vehicle before making my decision to buy it. During our conversation, Tuan told me the car had a small exhaust leak. No other significant problems were mentioned to me. Given that I was speaking directly with the mechanic who had reportedly inspected this exact vehicle just the day before, I understandably put significant weight on what he told me. I was left with the impression that, aside from the small exhaust leak, there weren't any major issues I needed to be concerned about. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing the car, I had it independently inspected and discovered a VERY different picture. The independent inspection found very worn control arm/subframe bushings, with the control arm issue considered urgent, front tires worn as low as 2/32", a coolant leak, a weak battery, old engine oil and a non-functioning centre brake light, among other maintenance concerns. Had Tuan not seen the vehicle recently, I could understand him not knowing its current condition. What concerns me is that I specifically contacted him because I was told he had inspected the car the previous day, yet the only issue mentioned to me was a small exhaust leak. I obviously cannot know exactly what was observed during that inspection or which issues Tuan was aware of, so I won't claim that I do. However, I find it extremely concerning that another inspection shortly afterward identified multiple problems--including an urgent suspension issue and front tires worn as low as 2/32"--that were never mentioned to me. Had I known about these issues, they absolutely would have affected my decision to purchase the vehicle and what I was willing to pay for it. Based on my experience, if you are considering purchasing a used vehicle that has been serviced or inspected here, I would strongly recommend getting an independent pre-purchase inspection before relying on the information you are given about its condition.
