The room itself was not that big, but it was spacious enough. We were in the top floor, so there was a neat little garret window that you could kind of sit in and read a book or just enjoy the view. The bathroom was surprisingly large with plenty of room to place all your toiletries a the shower was watertight and had more than sufficient water pressure and temperature range (which were both adjustable). Breakfast was prompt with Graham cooking and serving the the dining room downstairs, and the food was quite nice. We've just returned from our second stay for two nights and enjoyed it as much, if not more, than our first! Our first stay was in one of the chalets at the back of the property which are probably a little more spacious than one of the front bedrooms we stayed in this time around, but never-the-less, both rooms and en-suites are stylishly decorated, very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The plus to staying in a room (No.5) at the front of the house is that you get a wonderful view of the Cairngorm Mountains a real treat as the sun sets and also again when you open the blinds first thing in the morning! Beds are not as firm as we'd prefer (personal preference I'm sure many like a slightly softer mattress would have no problem at all), but still comfortable and the bedlinen is good quality which all goes a long way towards a very good night's sleep and a restful stay. Breakfast offers a wide choice great range of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit salad, white & wholemeal toast and Jonathan's homemade marmelade try it, it's truly delicious! We also tried the delicious (and none greasy) full traditional Scottish breakfast (with plenty of flexibility to accomodate all diets and tastes!), Poached eggs (eggs not laid by the chickens in the outside pen, but we were confidently assured were local & free range) and smoked salmon on muffins (a lovely, tasty way to start the day!), alternatively the homemade porridge with berry fruit compote, seeds, honey or plain is also a real treat and will certainly set you up for a day's exploring and activity! The lounge with it's open fire (lit in the colder months), cosy rugs, antique style furniture, plus welcoming resident cat Milly(!), make for a great place to relax and chill out either after breakfast or after a day's skiing, hiking or cycling! Overall a very welcoming place to stay in a charming traditional style house which is very restful and relaxing with delicious breakfasts. You couldn't wish for anymore from a B&B!

I was a little uncertain what to expect when I stayed here recently, my expectations were a little negative as I worried that it would be cold in the chalet and that the standard of cleanliness would be lacking however I couldn't have been more wrong. We received a very warm welcome on arrival from Morag (the owner) and shown to our chalet, there are 6 at present however they are plans to build a couple more. My worries were dismissed instantly, although compact, the chalet offered everything that we needed what's more it was lovely and toasty and very clean and tidy. The kitchen is well equipped with full cooker and microwave, the sitting room offers free view and a dvd player, we didn't even need to take a travel cot or high chair as these were provided. We had a lovely 4 nights here and would heartily recommend a visit.

And Mr. Caldwell's comments in a conversation with my husband will have us both cracking up for days. I would definitely recommend straightening up a bit before you leave for the day. They'll straighten your bed for you and you may have a moment of embarrassment if, like us, you rush out in the morning leaving your things a mess. I would choose Amulree every time if we were to go back to Inverness.

John and Wilma are lovely and provided impeccable hospitality. We stayed in the Neil Gunn room and it is huge. The bathroom is a treat, too, with its wonderful shower and towel heating rack. Both the room and the bathroom were impeccably clean. Moyness House is a short walk to downtown but is far enough away that we didn't get the noise. In fact, we walked around much of Inverness and found lots of cute B&Bs. However, all of them were on busy, noisy streets and few had good parking. We picked the Moyness House based on the reviews of other travelers and felt immensely fortunate that we did not end up at any of the other places. We appreciate a good night's rest and definitely got it here. Finally, breakfast here is truly satisfying. We had a Scottish breakfast each morning and were amazed at the freshness of the eggs.
