The views from the balcony are gorgeous and the service is really friendly and welcoming. They have an extensive DVD library, kayaks and snorkelling equipment. We really found the laundry facilities a big help as we'd been travelling for a while. This is a great option for Nambucca Heads.

There is plenty of beer at this pub with a good range on tap. The bistro is reasonable with lunchtime specials and each night there is a cheap special happening, whether a steak, schnitzel, or seafood platter. Pick a night and there is fresh food and a good atmosphere happening. Customers can take their meals to the upstairs verandah and watch the river flow by. There is renovated basic accommodation which is clean and roomy. Several rooms have French door access to the verandah... the best rooms. I have stayed here several times. This time the tariff was up by more than $20 and this is probably due to the other pub in town renovating and also the passing trade has been diverted due to the town bypass.

Although Heritage Guesthouse is one of the more expensive options in town, it's totally worth it. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The building itself is a beautiful 19th century home lovingly restored in the early 2000s as a guest house. Combined with solid wood interior accents and furniture, the result is a warm and homey atmosphere. ROOM ("Neutral Bay"): Very comfortable mattress and luxurious bedding. Nice, clean bathroom with good shower. KITCHEN: Very good self-serve continental breakfast (cereal, bread, butter, jam and other spreads, coffee, tea, juice) with indoor and quaint outdoor dining area. LOCATION: South West Rocks isn't very big, but Heritage Guesthouse is right across from a nice beach, within walking distance to the local cinema, and a short drive to Trial Bay Gaol, the lighthouse, and the dive shop. The only minor inconvenience is that there is very little parking, and what parking exists is difficult to maneuver in and out of (for a mid-sized SUV).

The food was excellent: really tasty chips - not greasy and perfectly cooked - while the Flathead fillets (they added an extra one in because they thought the one is paid for was a bit small!) were clearly local and very fresh. This is my new go-to place in Nambucca Heads.
