I was sick for 35 dies as a result of cancer treatment, bedridden and hospitalized for almost the entirety of the duration, and when I asked for a 3 day extension on the date that they would cut my lights out I was told no because I didn't have the foresight to know I would nearly die 7 times in one month and I guess I didn't call them early enough to give them a heads up. I missed my payment that was due on the 18th because I was hospitalized and when I got out today, I called immediately and informed them I wasn't working because of the sickness but now I am and I just needed a 3 day extension to ensure I would actually get my paycheck on time. I was told flat out no with no other options or recourse. Blood sucking vampires would have more consideration than this organization does. read more

How is it Bluebonnet electric co., has a MONOPOLY on electricity!!!? How are they able to get away with this? There is zero competition for them! I don't know how my electricity is higher then it was the month before and I wasn't even home!! My a/c is still set at the same temperature,minus I wasn't home, to cook, run washer/dryer, Television or coming in and out of the house as I usually do! I am 100% disabled and on a fixed income!! They have been in my backyard at least four times this year, three of the four, without even notifying me, I let my dog out who kept alerting me, they were very lucky I heard and saw them, one of their techs flipped over my fence trying to get away from my dog! That was very ignorant of them!! When I sent them my concerns, their excuse was we only charge what's on the meter!! If that's the truth why have you been on my property so many times?!! read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. Mailed our payment out on 12/31, and they didn't receive it until 1/10 (assuming due to the holidays the mail was slow). Most companies would be understanding to this and waive the late fee, however, when speaking with a supervisor they will not waive the late fee because they waived it for our account in 2020 (they said they only waive once). Over 5 years of paying on time, and because of something completely out of our hands, they won't waive this fee. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Also, employee was very rude saying, "Well, you could've paid online". News flash, not all companies can pay online. Also, we are a very long time customer. worst electric company I have ever had. I am reporting them to the state. I had solar panels installed on my house it cut my electricity down a lot especially in in the summer. I noticed after that they raised my rates on my electric service and now somehow they are saying I used more for electricity every month. company is terrible and a total rip off. I've been waiting for 13 months for them to come replace a broken guy wire on a critical power pole. The engineers have come out twice and looked but nobody can come make the repair (honestly about a 15min job for two guys). Every time I call Bluebonnet, its like they have never heard of it, even though I've followed all their guidelines. Their customer service sucks and from the other reviews I've seen, I'm not the only one. To be clear, the guys that come out (when they come out) are very good and professional. The problem isn't with the field guys, it is their office and management - they suck. read more

Do NOT forget to review your bill. This company will increase your usage on cold and hot days, even if you do not have your unit on or aren't in town to have it running on full blast. I use my propane fireplace with a manual ignition as my main source of heat yet was informed that my bill was high due to the cold days in February. Hate being stolen from. read more

Wish I could give a 0 star. Just now we have been in a heat advisory for over 2 weeks. I signed up for auto pay and it didnt go through - they shut off our power when its 102 degrees at 2pm in the afternoon without ANY notification! When I told them its illegal to shut off electrical in a heat advisory they claimed that their super that monitors that kind of thing says there is none! LOL Obviously he does not live here because even the National Weather Center gave a notification!!!! They claimed they called and emailed and yet NO emails AT ALL in ANY of my email boxes and no record of even a missed call on my phone and NO voicemail. They said they would be kind this one time and only charge me $50 instead of $110 reconnect fee! HOW SWEET!! This company is a fraud and I pray that another company comes and takes all their business. I will be the first to go. I am looking for alternates as we speak. I cant deal with this antiAmerican antiChristian company any further. read more

Poor customer service. Cut me off and mid-sentence and told me she couldn't help me because the lot in question had no address. Half the lots in Bastrop don't have addresses. I offered her the tax ID, which was enough for every other utility company/municipality I have dealt with. Nope, that wouldn't work for her and she had no interest in finding a way to help me. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced yet! We had our electricity turned off for only a $52.00 late bill! They gave one courtesy call (during business hours when we're at work and they didn't leave a VM). The bill was due on 4/18/2018. I called on 4/19/2018 to pay the bill and spoke with a rep. name Jerry who informed me that we had been shut off this morning. Jerry was kind and informative, but unable to assist with the fees or give an explanation as to why we were not properly contacted. It is very disappointing that being $52.00 late (and having no idea about it) will get you shut off without warning! We did not receive a written or email notification, the late fees were not stated on the bill that was received and we had absolutely no idea that we even owed an outstanding balance! I am so frustrated with Blue Bonnet. They are as bad as Austin Electricity and I give them 10 THUMBS DOWN! I HAVE OFFICIALLY FILED A PROPER COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
