Quan and BlueEdge Productions were one of the best vendors we worked with during our big day. From the moment we met Quan at a wedding fair, we enjoyed his charm, professionalism, and enthusiasm. He brings the energy--which is a must when looking for your DJ! Quan is meticulous in his work; we had numerous video chats to discuss our vision for the wedding, the phonological pronunciation of our wedding party and family names, to the font for the monogram, to both the color of the uplighting and string lighting, to the music selection for each special moment (songs for the ceremony, brides entrance song, groom entrance song, reception must-plays, cocktail hour songs, and even a "do not playlist"). We enjoyed his personality so much we requested his services on the day of the wedding! I have to say whatever we needed, Quan delivered. The 16th Street Station is an old rustic abandoned train station with no working power or electricity. Quan brought in the generators and lighting to fill the deep vacant area for 400 guests. The light was beautiful and brought out each detail of the space. It was, indeed, a marvelous spectacle. He brought in the photo booth, which was a hit! The crowd loved that his booth attendant was so accommodating to our guests! His whole team is fantastic! Quan's production team is a one-stop-shop for all your wedding needs. Also, his MCing is top-notch. He guided guests to their designated spots, moving buffet lines, and keeping our busy schedule promptly. Our program included cultural dancers from Punjab and the Philippines, also the vast amount of speeches, to the groomsmen doing their dance routine. Through it all, Quan professionally handled himself, keeping calm at each chaotic moment. Thanks, Quan! Oh yes, one more story to add, which I genuinely appreciate from Quan. Some of the men in my family were haggling and hassling him to play Punjabi songs ( in some cases yelling at him, so sorry for that Quan). I would book bluEDGE for all my events if I could, except, I don't have any parties coming up. Thank goodness because I am still recovering from my wedding 2 months ago. But I 100% definitely will book them again. No doubt! Here's why. They are awesome! My husband and I had the pleasure working with DJ Quan, Philippe, and bilingual translator Shirley. My initial point of contact was with Philippe and he was so helpful and informative that I had to book him without hesitation. Philippe was very accommodating. He worked around our schedule with meet and greets. He came out to the venue to look at the space and gave suggestions on where would be the best place for the DJ and photobooth. He gave pointers on the floor plan, type of music for our intimate wedding, wedding games. It was so helpful given that my husband and I had no clue what-so-ever what we were doing. Quan took it to the next level with his expertise on wedding planning. He was a tremendous help with our wedding schedule. Like I said. We are clueless to wedding planning. We are SO HAPPY we used BluEDGE for our wedding for their DJ/MC, Photo Booth, Flipbook Photo Booth, Uplighting, texture and monogram lighting. DJ Quan went above and beyond. bluEDGE and DJ Quan did a fantastic job at our wedding at the SF Zoo. We had four locations in the zoo for our wedding. There was a ton of coordination but bE was more than flexible and worked with us to create an outstanding experience in each location. Three examples stand out in my mind: #1 Quan and his team show-up and are very prepared. All our meetings were productive and we never felt like our time was being wasted or that we have to repeat ourselves. They take notes, proactively communicate, and help brainstorm solutions with you. #2 bE is very flexible. We had an Indian priest who sprung on us the day before the wedding that he wanted to be microphoned-up. With less than 24 hours notice, we were able to work with bE to get the speakers and mics added to the list, and for a very reasonable price! We never felt underserved or that we paid more than a fair price for anything with bE. #3 Quan brought everyone to the dance floor. We wanted a party on the dance floor and that's exactly what we got. The dance floor was packed within 3 mins of opening-up and still have a dozen folks dancing after 2 hours (including my wife and me) when everything shut down. We provided Quan with the types of songs we liked and he took those suggestions and created a wonderful set, including sticking in a few Indian bhangra songs. We couldn't be happier with everything and bE helped make our wedding day the best day of my life! read more

DJ Quan is amazing, talented and I still love his personality and professionalism. It is without hesitation that I would recommend him again even though there was a little miscommunication with the surprise wedding reception dance and my "NO REQUESTS" preference. I say miscommunication because I probably wasn't 100% crystal clear in my September 2010 wedding DJ plan, being that I was working full-time, while finishing grad school, while work a second part-time job, so I'm sure things got lost in the shuffle. I wanted a true surprise wedding reception dance and unfortunately when it came down to the actual surprise DJ Quan accidentally announced over the speakers how I am a choreographer and I have a special dance I'd like to do. I didn't want anyone to know anything until they saw us dancing, but the saving grace was that I don't think people where expecting over 12 trained dancers to all do the same choreo at the same time, so I think it turned okay, but you can judge for yourself: http://youtu.be/ROVlXpnd_Cw I also requested to have "NO REQUESTS". Some requests were honored and some weren't - so I really wished my NO REQUESTS policy was enforced across the board - it's not a huge deal, but it did bother me in hindsight. Also I appreciate HIS PERSONALITY!! He's not a dud and can really breath life into the emceeing part of your reception. DJ Quan was one the first vendors I booked for my wedding. Out of all the DJ's I sent inquiries to, DJ Quan was quick to reply and responsive. We met with him in person and we just clicked like old-friends. That's when I decided to take the leap of faith - and boy was I glad I did! And when I was running around like a headless chicken a week before the wedding, DJ Quan emailed me to gently remind me that I still owed him a playlist, introductions and so forth. He took what I gave him and ran with it - from contacting the venue directly to working with the day-of coordinator, he made the entire wedding stress free so my now-husband and I can enjoy the wedding. This certainly won't be the last review I leave for DJ Quan.. I foresee lots more events in the future for work and personal that I will definitely want him there to rock the party. Contacting bluEdge was easy. My wife emailed them and Felix emailed us back with prices, availability, and the different DJs they had. Each of the DJs have their own videos so you can see their style. We ended up choosing DJ Quan for our wedding in August 2015 and are extremely glad that we did. DJ Quan is AWESOME! We would describe him as calm, casual, and accommodating. It was obvious that he was very experienced and knew what he was doing. He was very sharp and had a good feel for how your guests would be and how the night would go just after getting to know us for a bit. He's also a down to earth, East Bay guy who understood where we were coming from as Asian-Americans. He's non-judgmental and there to serve you. As an MC, he was really smooth and sharp. We had 450 guests at our wedding reception of various ages, cultures, backgrounds, and musical tastes. There were very conservative Christians there, a liberal San Francisco crowd, Canadians, Africans, East Coasters, native Bay Area millennials all there, 3-year olds, and 60-year olds, and yet no one complained about the song choices or content. He made sure to choose clean versions with no expletives for us. Our dance floor was quite large and yet packed the entire night. You could even tell he was getting a feel for the crowd and figuring out what would get them into full party mode, and it worked very well! DJ Quan was also a pro in helping release tables for us during our buffet dinner service. There were 58 tables, and no one complained about the wait. He was extremely fast and responsive with emails. We even emailed him the day before our wedding and he reassured us that everything would be taken care of. After the wedding, everybody noted how smooth our wedding was and we would definitely credit that to DJ Quan's professionalism. We also used them for our photobooth. We were able to customize our "logo" onto our photobooth pictures which was a nice perk. We would highly recommend DJ Quan for any of our friends or family's upcoming wedding or party. read more

I did not hire DJ Quan. This review is solely based on our experience inquiring about hiring him for our wedding. First off, Quan was the 2nd DJ we met. For the initial meeting, there was no real presentation. He was basically winging it...."I'm here, what do you want to know? Ask me whatever and I'll answer it." No presentation format whatsover. No "thank you emails" for meeting with you....basic business etiquette. Despite that, he's seems like a friendly, laid back guy. He said he would follow up with us in regards to some other questions we asked. No followup email received. When we emailed him to ask "where's our followup", he said it must have gone to our spam folder. Normally, if I send something and the recipient doesn't receive it, I forward my originally email as proof. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I email him more questions and a request to edit the quote. I never hear back from him again. Sad thing is, I was so tired of interviewing so many wedding vendors, I was just going to hire him anyway. We wanted a lot of things done too. He said no one in the bay area could beat his pricing. His pricing is pretty reasonable, and I was willing to put up with the flakiness due to the pricing. Maybe he is great at his job, maybe he's too busy for new clients....I'll never know. I HATE poor communication. Anyway, based on his poor followup and communication, I'm glad that I learned how flaky he is beforehand. I hired another DJ company that has excellent communication, organization, pricing, presentation and is still on the Knot's best vendor list for the past few years running. read more

DJ Quan and bluEdge productions was a fantastic part of our wedding. We were planning our special day from overseas, which made things especially difficult (we live in Singapore-- wedding in California). All of our coordination and planning came down to a handful of Skype conversations and then a series of frantic meetings one week before the wedding. We met Quan briefly on Skype and immediately clicked with his sense of style and knowledge of how to get a party going. My husband was also encouraged that he was a proud UC Berkeley Cal Bear. When we met Quan in person he helped us solidify the music and plans for our day and in many ways helped to gel the sequence of events. We had a wonderful conversation that night while working out a very detailed song list and set of logistics for the AV needs. Quan made it a point to stay in touch, but not obtrusively, over the next week to keep us up to date. When the event came, Quan and bluEdge performed at 110%-- we found out later that disaster had struck and Quan had his car broken into. Despite losing all of the wedding plans on his iPad, he reconstructed our entire song list and AV itinerary from memory. The wedding and party afterwards was a big success and all of the AV was well covered. Quan was a great MC and found the perfect balance to keep the guests entertained whilst keeping us on schedule for all the speeches, etc. The photobooth that bluEdge provided was also a big hit and gave our guests a great memento to bring home from the day. All in all, my husband and i were very impressed with Quan and his team for their professionalism, attentiveness and commitment to us as customers. read more

An amazing experience with DJ Quan and I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a talented DJ and MC! - Professional. Quan is an expert at what he does (both musically and logistically.. all the stuff leading up to the event). He walks you through step-by-step and he's very responsive to questions. We used Bluedge for photo booth and uplighting and they were phenomenal! From choosing layouts, to them being flexible and thinking on their feet the day of, we enjoyed working with Quan and crew throughout. The selection of uplighting colors was vast and we quickly picked colors that worked for our event. Excellent service. I booked Bluedge for a photo booth for a baby shower and was so happy with their service. Not only was the rep prompt in set up, he stayed throughout the shower helping guests decide on fun props and making sure the mom-to-be took pictures with all her guests. Having the photo booth was the highlight of the baby shower activities! All the guests had such a wonderful time capturing the day in silly pictures with the mom-to-be. At the end of the day, Moses (our rep) stayed after to help clean up, even after I urged him to leave, since our reserved time was well past due. We love DJ Quan. He was referred to us by a friend who recently got married, and after our wedding other friends have already hired him for their weddings! We hired Quan for DJ/MC needs, as well as lighting. Throughout the wedding process, DJ Quan was one vendor that I did not have to worry about. He was prompt in responses and meetings, and actually made my wedding planning/wedding day life easier!! Overall extremely professional and excellent quality of services. Lighting: His lighting quotes were very reasonable compared to others that we received. He set up string lighting over our outdoor dinner patio area, and even provided a quiet, hidden generator because our venue couldn't handle the extra electricity needs. Indoor uplighting was also provided for our indoor dancing space. DJ/MC'ing: Quan was very organized and followed the wedding timeline perfectly. Our dining MC needs were a little more complicated, since we had seated tables called to food trucks, but Quan assisted with flow and kept everything moving smoothly. Dancing was one of my favorite parts of the day, and the music was so good! I received many compliments and heard from multiple guests that they have never danced so much at a wedding. Looking back at all the vendors we booked, BluEDGE Productions was the only "flaw" in our wedding. We decided to book DJ Quan for our wedding over a year in advance. We booked him for DJ/MC, uplighting, monogram lighting, and photo booth. Booking him was very easy and he was responsive to all my calls and emails. My husband and I decided to book him specifically because he could speak Chinese and we wanted him to translate during the reception to all of our Chinese relatives. We met with him in person for a few hours at a nearby Starbucks and he gave us samples of his work. We also discussed a tentative timeline and he explained how he would keep the party going. He definitely talked up a big game so we were very confident in booking him. Come the wedding day, he played the music for the ceremony. Everything was fine there. However, when we did the grand entrance for our reception, the music stopped working for our entrance! And instead of pumping up the crowd, he awkwardly tried to press buttons as everyone stared at me and my husband standing in front of the whole room in silence. Luckily, our videographer and photographer prompted us to enter and play along. For the speeches, he only had one microphone. So after each speech, DJ Quan had to walk back and forth passing the microphone to the new speaker. Why couldn't he have brought 2 microphones with him to prevent the lag time and awkwardness of him walking back and forth? Finally, we did not have our monogram projected on the dance floor as we had asked. He explained at the end of the night that he ordered it, but it did not come in in time. Which basically tells me he forgot to order it in time even though we booked him well over a year in advance. He did offer us a refund on that portion. Oh, and one more thing...he did not speak any Chinese the whole night! That was the whole reason why we booked him!! read more

DJ Jeep DJ'ed our wedding this summer. We met with him before and spoke with him over email many times before our event. He was very quick to respond and assured us that he could do both DJing (sticking to a playlist we were to give him) and managing the uplighting using a remote system. On the night of our wedding, he accommodated song requests from friends/family and other requests from us, which we really appreciated. Also, he was very technically talented (mixing, scratching). However, we wish he would have more consistently played up-tempo music and newer dance-type songs to get the dance party going. We also wished that he would have stuck to the playlist he was given, which had been discussed before the event. The music did improve toward the end of the night when he stuck to the playlist and cut the songs a bit shorter (instead of playing the entire song). We had other disappointments, namely technical issues related to the lack of lighting transitions we were promised beforehand, forgotten speakers, and faulty microphones that occurred during the evening. The DJ was accommodating in remedying this issue after the event though. read more

So we're a bit conflicted about our experience with bluEdge. We were very excited they offered a combination of photobooth and DJ services. We booked DJ Quan, having listened to a few of his samples. We also were drawn to his lighter touch approach to MCing. Our conversations with Philippe, though a bit disorganized, made us feel we were going to get everything we wanted from them. We loved that we could have a custom designed layout for the photobooth prints. As we got closer to the event it became difficult to contact them. Questions we sent via email would take a long time to get a response, and they wouldn't always answer our questions. The honeybook website they use for correspondence was awful. We asked several times to speak with Quan directly, and those usually got no response. Two weeks before our wedding we weren't really sure if they'd show up or not. Then, with a week to go, we were able to get on the phone with Quan and we felt better about the situation again. He was very organized, asked us a lot of questions about how we wanted the reception timeline to go: introductions, first dance, parents dance, etc. Then, the day before our wedding Quan threw out his back, and would not be MCing our reception. We were assured via email that Philippe and Gary would replace him as MC and DJ respectively. Having talked through a lot of specifics just days prior with Quan, we wanted to get on the phone to make sure all of these were passed along. We could tell they meant well, and really wanted to make sure we had the experience we wanted, but they were not nearly as organized as Quan. Come the reception, we met the team. They were all very nice, and were looking to give us an amazing night. However, our first dance was cut short, transitioning to the father daughter/mother son dance halfway through. This was not part of the plan and led to some confusion. We're still a little disappointing we didn't get to complete our first dance. The reception music started off a bit slow before picking up later in the evening. We all had a very good time dancing. Also, the photobooth was a huge hit and we have spent hours looking and laughing at all of the proofs online. Wish I could give 10 stars!!!! Quan is the best DJ I've EVER heard and I love music! He was my wedding DJ and was awesome in every way - professional, fun, easy to work with, flexible, attentive and the music at our wedding was fabulous! Many of our guests have told me that our wedding was the most fun wedding they've been to and its because of Quan's amazing DJ skills. Our dance floor was packed the entire time, my entire family, including my Grandma could not stop dancing. I kept meaning to leave the dance floor to talk to guests, but every time a song would end the next song would be even better - finally I came to the rationalization that if people wanted to hang out with me they'd have to find me on the dance floor. I've never heard so many great songs in a row. I'm so happy Quan was our DJ. He exceeded my expectations in every way and made my life so much easier during the entire wedding planning process. Back to our wedding in 2011, we found DJ Quan through our wedding planner. Because we need a wedding DJ/MC who can speak/understand Mandarin. Quan is very helpful with all the questions I had. However, several months before the wedding, his schedule changed. We need to ask DJ Felix for help instead. Quan is very kind and he introduced us to a MC/Singer Sandy, who can speak Mandarin. So the happy ending is that we got a combo - awesome DJ Felix + awesome MC/singer Sandy for the same price we agreed with DJ Quan. Our guests are still talking about how much fun he was and how he was the "best DJ they've ever had at any wedding they've ever been to". He was sooo great. The ceremony music went smoothly, as well as the reception music. And, he kept the dance floor alive! It was awesome. We hired bluEDGE for lighting service for our wedding. Our wedding venue was a bit plain and boring but Quan and his team did an amazing job with the venue. From the beginning Quan was super responsive and friendly via email. Once I told him the reception venue, he quickly contacted the venue manager without me even having to request him doing so to discuss what he could or could not do in terms of lighting. I was extremely impressed by the initiative he took in doing that. Overall, he made the whole process very straight forward and easy for me. I sent him a few photos for ideas of what I hoped the place would look like and the place was beyond my expectation the day of. His team was prompt with setting up and was there an hour before the event ended ready to clean up. We could not have been happier with his lighting service and would highly recommend him! read more

We are so happy and pleased that we had Felix as our dj for our wedding. He is very flexible and will play songs from a genre or types of artists that you like, or he will literally play all the songs you ask him to play. We were very particular about the songs we wanted during dancing so we gave him our list, Persian songs included. He followed our list perfectly and mixed songs together too. He is a real dj, not a wedding "dj" that hits play on his laptop and stands there twiddling his/her thumbs. He knows music and will provide you with song recommendations for the various parts of the wedding. Felix also is very patient and will never rush you when you are meeting with him. He really cares about you and making sure your wedding goes perfectly and the way you want it. We also had Felix do our uplighting for us. His pricing was not beatable and neither was level of service, talent or knowledge. read more
