The staff here are very nice and the owner Darren has served me many times. The meats are quite varied compared to the selection in the supermarket and the prices are also a bit cheaper. My favourite product from there are bits of chicken breast wrapped in bacon. They are held together with a skewer and have yummy cheese in the middle. They are perfect for a quick dinner when you cannot be bothered cooking and are almost a staple food in my house! Once I had quite a few bags from Boococks and the staff member noticed I was struggling so they helped carry them out to my car - you can't beat that!

Aswell as fresh fruit and vegies, this fruit shop also stock a selection of gourmet sauces and pastas, mostly of the Maggie Beers collection. Fresh flowers are also available every day of the week, and the footpath outside the store always breathes some colour into your day. Although it may be odd to review a fruit and vegetable store, they are all different. The simple addition of good customer service is enough to rate this store and give it a shout out to all you Yelpers.

Finding American cut brisket in Melbourne is tougher than I thought it would be. After doing a ton of research, I narrowed my list to a few butchers and decided to give Cannings Hawthorn a call. I was put through to the main butcher to describe how many people would be attending my BBQ and the very knowledgeable butcher was able to order a 6kg Cape Grim, organic beef brisket for me for pickup the following week. We cooked this glorious side of beef with a simple 60/40 pepper/salt rub in our kamado low and slow for 14 hours and our friends are still talking about how delicious it was. Two months ago! We've ordered a smaller one for Christmas. They also do free delivery Melbourne wide on a weekly schedule, so that's very handy if you live in a slightly outer suburb.

The first time, I was running late and completely disorganised, and figured I'd drive past a butcher somewhere. Lucky for me, this was the first one that I noticed. I bought a couple of steaks. I was planning to marinate whatever I bought, but when I saw these, I just decided to season them a bit and throw them on the grill. My hubby thought he was in heaven. I thought they were pretty good too. The service was pleasant, but a little rushed as it was a busy day. I recommend this place if you're in the area.

I'm always a little reluctant to go to a butcher because I don't know what to expect. Will it be expensive? Will they try to offload their old stuff? I'm glad I tried it out though. I've since gone back and tried their sausages and chicken breasts. Again, two thumbs up. Also I was very excited to see that they sell rabbit, not many places stock it, so I'll be going back to grab some of those.
