Strawberry rhubarb milkshake (6.50 GBP) - Delicious with a great consistency (slightly on the thicker side), although I didn't taste much rhubarb flavor (mostly just strawberry). The place is slightly on the small side with cozy cafe kind of vibes. We were able to snag one of the last available tables for weekend brunch without a wait. The staff are friendly and very attentive. The service speed is quick. Overall, Sage Kitchen is a great choice for brunch with a variety of tasty menu options.

My very good friend had just returned home from holiday, so I suggested that we have lunch to catch up. I had head about KaoSarn but had never made time to go and eat there, so I thought what the hey! As we approached we noted that there were tables outside even though it is the early December, however as we got closers we saw that there were blankets on the chair for diners to put over their knees - nice touch! Even so, we opted to sit inside and thankfully we timed it well, and were seated immediately at the last available table. Inside it is small and there a probably around 10 tables so a full house would accommodate approximately between 20 to 25 people maybe at a push 30, that's excluding the outside area. I ordered the spicy deep fired spare ribs (healthy I know) with a prawn red curry to follow, and my friend went with the hot and sour soup to start and a Pad Thai for her main. All the dishes were fantastic and what particularly struck me was how I could tastes all the different notes in each dish and how clean the flavors were. I got chatting with the hostess and she proudly told me that they made, 'real Thai food that you eat at home. Home cooked Thai food!' You had me a lemongrass spare ribs! Another touch that I loved was that the kitchen was open, towards the back of the shop and you could see about four or five chefs making everything from scratch. The best bit for me was that once my food was ready the chef actually brought it out himself, which not only made me feel like I was just dinning at a friends home, it was really humbling on a heart warming way.

The decor is very understated and the walls are adorned with some fantastic pieces artwork featuring pictures of iconic musicians. I'm also heavily bearing in mind that although the staff were excellent, I know that they would be so much more wonderful without a queue of 20 people outside and a rammed restaurant on the inside. So then, let's go! Straight down to business, I ordered the beef brisket hash with my fellow diners ordering the Eggs forestiere and the fritters. I also ordered a side of chicken. With my beef brisket hash, I thought that it was very tasty and the beef was cooked very well. As the most expensive thing on the breakfast menu, at £9, I felt that it was a very small portion. Therefore, I was very glad to I ordered side of chicken, otherwise I would have left hungry. In contrast to the beef, the chicken portion was plentiful at three small pieces and I thought that it was relatively good value for money too. One of my fellow diners ordered a side of avocado, which I thought was pretty decent too. The fritters were tasty yet, as with the beef, a fairly small portion for their £7.50 pricetag. I felt that the pièce de résistance on the menu was the Eggs Forestiere! A base of split muffin, with by far the tastiest mushroom that I have ever had, two perfectly poached eggs and topped with hollandaise (or in this case on the side!). This would be the dish that I would have when I return - I felt that it was a fair portion of food for the pricetag. In terms of the drinks, the freshly squeezed orange juice was super fresh and very tasty. Very good! Although my fellow diners who ordered coffee were nonplussed when it arrived in a glass as opposed to a cup or a mug! In terms of service. The waitresses that tended to us were very attentive and made us feel most definitely welcome. Even the manager/owner stopped by to have a chat and make sure that we were completely content with everything there. Either inside the main dining area or outside on the terrace. I felt like it was well decorated and with a great ambience to have a meal. The biggest letdown from my point of view was having to use the same toilets that belong to the gig venue and the Bar & Kitchen - they are very run down, smelly and not befitting of the pricetag and the classy aspirations of the Smoky Tails dining experience. I would very much like to go back again and would gladly pay full price. I just wouldn't order the dishes that have the very small portions and maybe I will hold my pee and stay away from the restrooms next time!

Tip: it gets super crowded after the Arsenal games on Sunday so get there early, or avoid Sundays.

It was dark and viscous, with a slight hint of ocean, and oh so tasty especially for being only 5.3%. The Giant Isopod Imperial Stout was also really, really good. In addition to the house taps, they also have quite an interesting guest beer selection from the UK and beyond. Prices are very reasonable, with most beers around 4 or 5P. Bartenders are very welcoming. They also just recently added food--will have to try that soon!

Introduced by Kanteen's head chef Sylvan Chevereau, the menu takes a two-sided naughty and nice approach to modern British dishes. Believe it or not, I actually went with the more "nice" options on my visit. Kanteen is a chic little eatery located within the K West Hotel and Spa (http://www.qype.co.uk/place/88683-K-West-Hotel-London) near Shepherd's Bush Station. Word on the street is that K West's spa is top notch and that the hotel offers excellent accommodation for West London visitors. With its close proximity to Shepherd's Bush Station (and, thus Westfield Shopping Centre), Kanteen at the K West is one to keep in mind - whether you're in the mood for braised pork belly or baked Portobello mushrooms (or both!).
