    Blonde hostess

I was part of a dinner party of around 13 people, with a bill totaling well over $1,000. Throughout the entire dinner, I did not consume any alcohol at all. In fact, I was the only person at the table who wasn't drinking. At one point, I stepped outside for literally two minutes to smoke a cigarette. When I came back inside, the blonde hostess stopped me and asked whether I was with the party or by myself, which I understood at first. I calmly responded that I was with the party. After a conversation that lasted maybe 20 seconds total -- where I barely said more than two words -- she told me to wait and returned with a manager. The manager then informed me that I "appeared intoxicated." I was completely sober, which made the accusation extremely offensive and honestly confusing. I do not drink at all, and I explained that to him immediately. Strangely enough, despite being the only sober person at the table, I was somehow the only person accused of being intoxicated. Even after I explained multiple times that I wasn't drinking, the manager still told me he was going to "cut me off." How do you cut off someone who never ordered alcohol in the first place? What bothered me most was how quickly this judgment was made. A 20-second interaction is not enough time for anyone -- let alone restaurant staff -- to determine whether somebody is intoxicated. The entire situation felt unnecessarily and targeted.hemmmg

Wonderful service, beautiful place. I had the grass fed hamburger-- it was perfectly fine, I really liked the brioche sesame seed bun. The french fries were just fine. And the horseradish ketchup was surprisingly good. I sat on the well shaded patio. The heat lamps above provided just a touch of warmth.

Afternoon tea at The Ivy Victoria was one of the worst service experiences I've had in London. The staff were blatantly rude. At one point, they literally took the sugar and milk off our table--set out for our tea--to give to another table, and we had to ask for them back like it was some kind of favor. It felt careless and disrespectful, and no one seemed remotely apologetic about it. On top of that, several items from our meal were missing, and we had to ask multiple times before they finally brought them over. It wasn't just an honest mistake either--it felt like we were being ignored. We were seated right next to the area where the staff gathered around their computer, and despite being so close, they barely even glanced in our direction, let alone checked in on us. I'm also vegetarian, and the lack of accommodation was unreal. They refused to make even basic adjustments to the afternoon tea selection, which meant I was essentially paying for a menu I couldn't properly enjoy. For a place that markets itself as a nice, modern restaurant in central London, their approach to dietary needs feels outdated and dismissive. Overall: rude staff, missing items, poor attitude, and absolutely not vegetarian-friendly. I'd skip The Ivy Victoria for afternoon tea and go somewhere that actually values its guests.

It was a hot day, and I did not want to go out until it cooled down a bit more. It was a very long day, in the heat. So, I went out at 9 PM. It was nice to find a place that has outstanding food, excellent bar, excellent service and great ambience, that is open, for London, late. My food was outstanding. I had the duck salad at the waiter suggestion which was complex and really nicely pulled together. I had the monkfish and shrimp curry, which was outstanding as well. Highly recommend for a great meal. There are a number of these across town. I am not sure how the other ones are, but this unit was exceptional.

The ground floor bar abs dining area. It's beautiful!

We had a set menu for breakfast and eggs royale. My eggs were over cooked, and it took forever to get fresh ones. It's a shame bc my delicious hash browns and bacon got pretty cold. The Eggs Royale were perfect! Every bite was gone in under 5 minutes.YUM! Because my eggs were remade, our awesome server, Oliver, took great care of us. Ask for Oliver for a perfectly British experience. I would go back... the little hash browns were toooo easy to eat. I could have eaten a dozen more. Lastly, the ladies room is SENSATIONAL!

The Ivy Victoria is a very large restaurant within walking distance of Victoria Station. Other central London attractions are also nearby - Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and others are under a mile on foot from here. The restaurant is large, over two floors and does feel very grand - the toilets are situated right at the back of the top floor, so it can be a bit of a trek if you're dining downstairs, and certainly not the most disabled-friendly, having some downstairs toilets for the size of the building is a must. I dined here as a special meal to celebrate my birthday while in London, this is one of the two special meals I planned for my birthday, I did note this on my reservation however, my birthday was not acknowledged. I also was unable to reserve the birthday treat on my Ivy loyalty app due to this not being an "Ivy Collection" restaurant, but rather "Ivy Brasserie" - the different names are something I find so confusing as the menu is generally the same. There isn't a gluten-free menu as such - I was instead directed to scan a QR code which stated all allergen information. I found the menu overall to be really fancy and overly pretentious, the alcohol menu, on one hand, didn't sound appetising at all, with some "festive" cocktails including a mince pie and chocolate, it just sounded so sickly. For my food, I decided to go for the Ivy Shepherd's Pie. This is usually my favourite and go-to dish at the Ivy, and I usually enjoy it. However, they appear to have updated the recipe for Christmas, it's nice to put a festive twist on things however, it seems bizarre they'd change one of the staple classic dishes that they're known for - they proudly list this as their "1917 recipe" and changing it for Christmas seems almost like treason. The new recipe was described as: Goose, Turkey and Duck Shepherd's Pie - Braised lamb and beef with mashed potato, cranberry chutney, sage, orange zest I ended up going for it without the cranberry chutney. Originally, there was confusion about removing this from the dish, and the servers referred to it as "jam" - I was later told this was possible. I was disappointed with my food overall. The combination of meats didn't work well together and was a bit chewy. It truly didn't compare to the 1917 shepherd's pie. I did consider other options, like the steak, but I didn't want it without fries (it couldn't be made gluten-free), and the mashed potato option made with olive oil sounded like it would be too wet combined with a peppercorn sauce for the steak. The other members of my party also were unimpressed with their food, with one diner sending back his burger as it had a funny taste to it, again, the staff member seemed to have a slightly pompous attitude about sending the food back. I was disappointed with the service overall. One male waiter seemed socially awkward and appeared to be staring off into the abyss, and another staff member had to keep coming over to assist him. It seemed like he was struggling; I didn't want to place all the blame on him as it was clear he wasn't properly trained. I also had an issue with the service charge. I had to ask multiple times for it to be removed, and the waitress who handled it seemed surprised and became confrontational, asking if there was an issue with her service. The whole situation felt awkward, and I had to wait a few minutes while she removed the charge, not seeming to know how to do it. I don't agree with service charges, as I believe it should be up to the customer to decide whether and how much to tip. I did visit the restaurant on the same day as another one of the few other negative reviews they've had, so perhaps they were just having a bad day, but my experience remains. I did make a complaint with the restaurant after my visit based on everything that went wrong, and I have been given a voucher to return in the future, so I plan to update my review then to give them a chance to prove to me that it was just a bad day in the office. The restaurant was very gracious in their response to my complaint I happened to visit the restaurant on the same day as one of the few other negative reviews they've received, so it's possible they were just having an off day. However, my experience still stands. After my visit, I submitted feedback about everything that went wrong, and the restaurant graciously offered me a voucher to return in the near future. I plan to update my review then to allow them to show that it was just an off-day. 2*

Came into the Ivy for a late breakfast one a Friday morning and had no issue getting a table. We noticed when we were walking to our table that The Ivy is really nice. Once seated we were given menus and for how nice the restaurant was the prices were for sure fair. I was our last day in London so of course that called for a Full English Breakfast. We also got an order of the Breakfast Pastries since we needed something sweet for all that hardy that was coming our way. As we waited for our food I went to the bathroom. On the way there I realized that this place is massive and had an amazing bar upstairs. Once at the bathroom I will say this was the nicest bathroom of the whole trip. Don't even get my stated on the ladies bathroom (Ashley showed me pictures) because it was even more amazing. Once our Full English came out it looked amazing and it was. Plenty of meat, eggs, hash browns, beans, toast and the other fixings. As I said a good Full English has plenty of food to split with someone. I could never finish one on my own. The Breakfast Pastries were also great and the Chocolate Croissants we just the right amount of sweet after all the salty. If you are in London you have to check one of there Ivy locations but since I can't speak for all of them this one is a must.

Beautiful little Gem we found around the corner from our hotel for a friends dinner. You would know what it looks like from the outside and inside was amazing. Two level with bar and private room. Will certainly return on a fruitier trip To London!

I noticed this business throughout London, the first few days visiting. I actually saw a line out the door a few days previously. We made a reservation online, which is highly recommended. Upon arrival the staff was very kind and helpful. We were seated promptly and looked after with care. The food was decent, and the decor at this location was Iconic. I enjoyed my overall experience here.

This place is gorgeous. That is for sure. The have an amazing looking menu. We came here in December, so they have the festive Christmas menu. For brevity, the food is incredible, the service is less than rad despite how nice everyone was. Here's what about it was not so great. Sat down, someone came up immediately, offered suggestions, said he would come back with waters. Dropped off water with no point to allow us to order. About thirty minutes later, I was able to flag someone down to request some food. The food came, and it was delicious. It's beautiful. Unfortunately it was missing a side. Also a misfortune was when my empty bottle of sparkling water was taken away and I was asked if I'd like another, that one never showed up. Food being delicious and beautiful doesn't overshadow underwhelming service. But that's not to say the evening was ruined, by no means. It was rather busy, I can say, the Christmas Pudding for desert is what absolutely redeemed the not rad interactions and lack of water/missing side. That pudding is the embodiment of Xmas. All of the spice, and the insides, and topping. Wow. Epic AF.

Easy five stars! From ambiance to food to service I loved the Ivy! My husband and I were looking for a place to grab some breakfast before meeting up with family and going site seeing so we turned to Yelp to see what was near by. It was mid morning on a weekday and no wait, they took my jacket and seated us right away. First off my metaphorical hat is tipped to the person or people that created The Ivy's aesthetic, it is beautiful. The restaurant is huge and when I went to the bathroom it gave me a chance to explore. I highly suggest exploring and going to the bathroom it is incredible! I ordered the pastries and Mike got the full English Breakfast both were fantastic! This is on my list of a must return restaurant, I really loved everything about it!

Lovely atmosphere and stylish decor. The food was delicious, especially the brunch. Great service and a nice place to relax with cocktails. Would definitely visit again!

Iced tea, was very worth the purchase!

Such a great experience for my first meal in London when visiting. The restaurant overall is adorable, and has such a great cute aesthetic. Would be perfect for a calm, but cute meal. The service was also incredibly kind. They allowed us to store our luggage in their coat closet. They also gave us quick, efficient service. The food was great! We loved the teas, and our smoothies. The breakfast was also very well made and gave us a more elevated experience trying a traditional English breakfast. The prices were also, in my opinion, very affordable for the quality of the experience and atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

The cocktails are all delicious, and live up to their exotic names and creative descriptions. My personal favorite is the Kentucky Gourmand, which is a tasty, peanut-buttery take on a classic Old Fashioned. It isn't too sweet, and still packs a punch, so if you enjoy your whiskey, this bad boy is for you. The menu offers a little something for everyone, and if the stronger drinks aren't your forté, then you might give the Cider Side or Popping Bubbles a try. Even their pickled martini seems to be making the rounds as one of the hottest drinks - no pun intended - on the menu. The food is still, thankfully, amongst the best bar food you'll ever have - if a bit pricey. And, the atmosphere blends swanky bar vibes with fancy living room chic, managing to be comfortable and ritzy, without being pretentious.
