Ordered a LS-3 6.2 Liter engine from them. Each engine is individually built and comes with it's own Dyno sheet and serial number. The advertised horsepower of my engine was 530 hp actual horsepower on the dynamometer was 549 and 519 foot pounds of torque!! That was a nice surprise. I ordered the engine as a complete set up. It came with the wiring harnesses, Drive by wire gas pedal, alternator, Power steering pump, Air conditioning compressor, intake manifold, fuel injectors, spark plugs, coil packs, drive by wire 4 inch throttle body, fan belt, and I special ordered the black pulley dress up kit. The cylinder heads have their name and logo machined into them.It takes them about 8 weeks to get it to your door after ordering it. The only items it does not come with are the exhaust manifolds, thermostat, and thermostat housing cap, other wise it's complete. I have made numerous calls to the company and asked for tech help, I was always pleasantly surprised to get someone to speak to every time. The motor is just STUNNING, I checked there exterior work very carefully, I got to say these people know what they are doing and pay attention to detail I can tell that they take pride in their workmanship. got the 390 hp 350 and it never ran but I got the run around. I've tried everything at least twice and it seems like it might be the Chinese vortec heads. been working with Brian and all they try do is paint you into a corner on record so it's your fault. I'll be paying in a motor for a bit I can't use. what a nightmare. read more

After only 15 miles on new crate 383 full dress engine my truck looked like a steam locomotive going down the road. I called blueprint engines warranty with only 20 miles on engine from my mechanics shop. He thought head gaskets, intake gaskets, or possibly cracked block. I sold my stock 350 and put it on crate, so I didn't have a way to ship back to blueprint. I told Ken Hervert (warranty supervisor) instead of sending me an empty crate, I would be willing to purchase another crate 383 from them. Then I would send defective engine back and they could just credit my account. His response was he" wouldn't recommend that because THERE WAS A STRONG POSSIBILITY THAT I WOULD OWN TWO ENGINES". He already knew he was going to deny any and all responsibility for factory defective. The last time I spoke with Ken Hervert, he said my engine was scheduled to be torn down and inspected the following Wednesday and he would call me as soon as he knew anything. This conversation was on Monday 2-3-2025. They had the defective engine in their possession for 3 weeks at that point. I am writing this review on 2-20-2025 and still haven't received a phone call. He emailed my mechanic saying problem with head gaskets was due to detonation failure. I have spoken with numerous mechanics and showed them the spark plugs, every mechanic says the same thing. IMPOSSIBLE with those plugs. Engine ran great, sounded great. It just had a catastrophic failure from the factory. At this point all I want is my money back. I will tell EVERYONE in my car club circle and cruise in enthusiasts about my horrible experience with Blueprint engines. I live in North Carolina. There are great engine builders all around me. SAVE YOUR MONEY DON'T BUY FROM BLUEPRINT ENGINES. THERE WARRANTY ISN'T WORTH THE INK THEY USED TO PRINT IT. read more

Blueprint engines are not good. The company does not honor their warranty. I purchased a 383 stroker for my c10 and had it professionally installed and they followed all the manufacturers recommendations. I only got 40 miles and the engine started knocking. They had me jump through all kinds of hoops I had to pay out of pocket several shops to diagnose the problem because blueprint would not take the engine back until I jumped through their hoops. I paid to install the engine, Diagnose the engine then removal and installation again. I finally got my truck back a year later. They did rebuild the engine because they knew it was their fault but they haven't honored the labor. Hi I'm James I bought a bp 306 and 150 miles in a chirping noise developed so blueprint offered to recondition the motor so I payed to have the motor removed and sent to them for rebuild 3 months later I got the mot back and payed my mechanic to put it back in it came with new dyno sheets and everything they told my mechanic it was a lifter I believe but with the supposedly rebuilt motor being I. It now only has 10 psi oil pressure in gear at idle o and it's still making the same exact chirping noise . Soo either they lied about rebuilding and dynoing or they are completely incompetent if they really re dynoed the motor or even started it up atall or did any kind of inspection like they claim they would have heard the noise so I payed to have a broken motor put in because blueprint engines lied so now what do I do I want a complete refund. Do those gearheads know that you don't stand behind your warranty and the conversations that are had? I had my engine shipped with the spark plugs crimped, because they were underneath the engine. When I called in to speak with the warranty department, they gave me the warranty email to send the picture of the crimped wires and then gave me 2 options. 1) I could wait for them to send out new wires, or 2) I could use my own wires and they would reimburse me for them. I chose option 2. I didn't go crazy on the wires, still buying an economical performance wire, but they said they would then only reimburse $50. The engine and plug wires were already installed. I told the warranty department rep that the conversation never discussed a maximum amount, but he told me too bad, it is what it is. The thousands of dollars I paid in for an engine, and BluePrint won't reimburse the full $130 for the wires. It's frustrating that if you look online for performance wires, you won't find them any less than that, yet I'm supposed to do it on $50 apparently. I've asked for a warranty manager to call me to no avail and got the $50 check in the mail today with no further conversation. read more

I had customer service tell me to change rocker studs and intake gaskets for smoke blowing out the tail pipe and oil consumption. I did as they asked and tried to contact them to send the engine in and no reply. It's almost a week now no answer. Spark plugs keep oil fouling. I purchased a replacement crate engine from this company for my Custom 1993 Chevy C1500 Indy Pace Pickup. The company advertises a 383 Stroker (BP38302CT) designed to drop into and replace the stock 350 V8 TBI setup. I had problems from the outset. 1 - The engine did not arrive within the dates supplied to me when ordered, throwing my mechanic booking and my time-off schedule into chaos. Further communication revealed that they had not yet even begun to build the engine! This was not a good sign. 2 - After communicating directly with the company President, who appointed a customer service rep to walk my engine build and delivery process through to completion, I finally received the engine about one month late. 3 - During the engine swap process, my mechanic needed technical information that was not in the paperwork we received. He requested this info via email and phone calls, often having to wait hours or days before receiving the information we needed to move ahead. 4 - Once the engine swap was completed and the truck was able to be driven, additional problems arose. Getting answers and information from their Technical Service and Warranty Department proved to be time-consuming and exceedingly slow. 5 - During the following months of normal daily driving, there was an ongoing process to diagnose and fix the tendency for this engine to ping. It became necessary to apply strong pressure on the Warranty Department for a final solution to fix it. Their default position was to distrust me as the customer, require ever more information and data (which I supplied after investing in additional diagnostic tools and resources), and still they assume the problems were caused by the customer. 6 - We discovered the stock EGR valve used on the 350 V8 does not open and close properly for the Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, heads, and TBI intake setup of my 383 Stroker. After trying 4 or 5 various EGR models and manufacturers, Blueprint Engines still cannot specify an EGR valve manufacturer and model that will work. 7 - After the data I supplied showed that the engine components were in place and working (knock sensors, temp sensors, EGR, etc.), and the engine was timed properly, they decided that perhaps the original PROM they supplied with the engine was faulty. When they checked their records, they could not find any record of my original PROM, nor could their vendor who created it (Westers). I eventually received a new PROM and after installing it, the engine ran worse and created a "check engine" condition. I ended up troubleshooting and replacing the ECU and using the original PROM to correct this issue - completely on my own. 8 - Within the 3-year, 50,000-mile warranty the engine developed a head gasket coolant leak. There was never any communication or documentation on a procedure or requirements for addressing this kind of warranty repair. Still trying to sort that out. 9 - BluePrint Engines required me to take the truck and engine to a local shop of their recommendation to have it assessed and then their findings communicated back to BluePrint before moving ahead with any further corrections. BOTTOM LINE - This manufacturer is very difficult to work with as a small, single-person customer. They focus on their big customers like Factory Five and others who purchase larger quantities of their engines. They treat a small customer as an afterthought and assume they do not know what they are doing. I cannot recommend them in good conscience. If I ever get this engine running right it will be at a great time, energy and monetary cost... way beyond what it was worth. If I had to do it over, I wish I would have purchased a replacement crate engine from Chevrolet Performance. read more

BP 496 ran fine for about 100 miles. Piston blew to pieces. sent engine back. returned to me with every valve out of adjustment. they grind the piston edge to make room for the 049 exhaust valves. You figure it out, what caused the failure. engine sits in care not running . Never Again ! read more

It took 7 months to diagnosis the issue with my Blue Print crate 302 engine. By the time we found the problem, I was charged almost $7000 to diagnose the problem and another $4000.00 to rebuild a $3500 crate engine. My grand total bill was $11,000 (no joke) on a $3500 Blue Print crate engine with only 7k miles. The overall cost of the repair was not worth the engines value. Blue Print customer service did not provide enough support for troubleshooting and they did not take ownership of their faulty product. read more

We discussed the options available under the warranty and it appears that the company will honor any parts and labor expenses associated with the issue. Bought a 383 stroker engine from Summit Racing and had the engine professionally installed in my 1970 Nova SS Show car. This engine had been serviced every 2500 miles. I have driven this car to many car shows in the past 26 months. Last month i dove the car down to get it ready for storsge . Got home opened the hood and had massive blow by. Called the shop where i had the engine installed. We have found a piece of the piston was broke off. There warranty on these engines are a joke. This piston broke from a poor casting issue. Found chunks of the piston in the pan and who knows where else it ended up. stay clear of these engines or you will end up having a boat anchor in your garge too. read more

Be aware people stay away from blueprint Engine's there warranty doesn't cover the engine got the engine did break in period 4 months later head gaskets went and started leaking coolant my mechanic called blueprint and gave them estimate to replace the head gasket and there only covering 500 dollars and leaving customer to pay the other 900 dollar bill when warranty should cover it all on a brand new motor wouldn't you think but no one of the worst mistakes I made purchasing this 4200 motor plus another 900 and no telling what might go down the road stay away there's better engine builders out there read more

I bought a Blueprint 383 crate motor and it hydro locked after 150 miles over a 4 month period. They told me right away that because I installed it myself, they wouldn't cover labor. Ok, but not knowing exactly what I was getting into, I had a Chevrolet dealership do the repair work.. They started taking apart the motor and discovered that the intake manifold bolts were loose (came with the intake) and the heads were old pieces of junk. Major signs of electrolysis and multiple pins installed from crack repairs. This is a high 405 hp engine and you shouldn't be using junk heads waiting to fail. Blueprint kept insisting I overheated the motor and that's why the heads warped. This motor never overheated!!! The junk heads with ELECTROLYSIS and PINS from crack repairs were the cause of this whole thing. The enormous amount of electrolysis on the head and the loose intake manifold bolts with heat and pressure from normal use caused the intake gasket to leak and let coolant flow. This was driven for 150 miles over a 4 month period. Ridiculous!! Keep in mind I bought this motor because it comes with "NEW CAST IRON VORTEC HEADS"!!!!!!!! Buyer beware...it doesn't! The supplier I purchased it from advertised the new heads, Blueprint says they do not come with new heads. Regardless of new or re-manufactured, the heads were scrap iron at best. Another issue is the cross hatching is gone in the cylinders and they are shining. How can that be gone in 150 miles. I question if it was ever even honed as they say. I'm surprised this thing held together during the so-called dyno run. Blueprint gave me the whole rundown on how they air check everything and torque everything, maybe it held together from them but fell apart for me. I bought this motor because I wanted a reputable company to stand behind their product with a warranty. I didn't want to have some local shop or shade-tree mechanic build one and then have he said/she said issues if a problem would arise. The joke is on me! I understand they can't pay out every claim that comes through the door but I am getting the shaft here. Absolutely depressing and now I am out $2k for labor repairs. The Chevrolet dealership agrees with me and also is disappointed with Blueprint not standing behind their product. I have gone back and forth with Blueprint Engines on why this motor hydro-locked and get no reasonable resolution. I watch all these automotive shows with Blueprint sponsorship and advertisements, I was excited and proud to buy my Blueprint motor...not anymore. Blueprint has been around for a longtime and no doubt can build quality engines. Unfortunately this one wasn't and that are not standing behind it. I highly encourage you shop for a different engine builder because you don't know what you're paying for until it is too late. read more

I bought a Blueprint roller cam crate engine through Summit to replace the OEM flat tappet engine in my El Camino. The engine was delivered on time and in great shape, no shipping damage at all. I prepped and installed the engine per the detailed instructions provided. The included dyno chart showed horsepower and torque that exceeded advertised values. The engine now has a couple hundred miles on it and is performing nicely... no leaks whatsoever, no detectable valve train or rotating assembly noise, and the cam they installed has great off-idle response that makes the engine sound very healthy. I did notice that one accessory bolt hole threads in one of the heads had been Heli-Coiled, but you kind of have to expect such a possibility since the model of engine I bought is built from "seasoned" blocks and heads. No complaints whatsoever... very satisfied with the quality and workmanship of the engine I received. read more

bought a BP38313ctc1 pre assmebled engine. After body shop installed engine and car. Engine had knocking noise. After taking to Accurate Performance the engine was diagnosed by them and AP to send back for warranty. Cylinder 1 had damage. Sent back dist and carb but no parts fell off so they blamed it on self install and air cleaner.(the same air cleaner ive had on my car for 4 years) After 3 weeks of no call no checks for removal and install of engine they just fixed they denied the claim. I sent photos of engine after arrival and during install all the time with every hole capped off. NO CALL and certainly NO $$$$. I hope the engine they sent back holds up and I certainly wouldnt buy another engine if they cant stand behind there work. I am not the first after reading these reviews to experience the same issues. Its always a pleasure to spend 4500.00 putting an engine together then fix oil leaks, blown up coils in distributor then paying another 1300.00 to have your engine pulled and re installed. I bought a 383 stroker engine rated at 325hp from blue print engines. this is not the engine I wanted but the one that they would sell me they told me that the engine I wanted would not work with my fuel injection system(they are wrong the tuner said the engine would have been great). so I went with there recommendation. I got the engine and installed it. the problem came when I brought it to the dyno tuning place the best they could get out of the engine is 300hp the worst part is that the truck that got tuned just before me was a old worn out stock 350 with headers put on it and that truck got almost the same numbers and my bigger engine. this engine is a dog it wont get out if its own way when I called them about it they told me they would have a tech call me back. it took 2 weeks for them to finaly call. when they did it was o that is too bad that you are not getting the 325 advertised hp out of it. there is nothing we can do. and when I informed them that I bought it because they recommended it and would not sell me the engine that I wanted he said will there is nothing I am willing to do for you. now the engine has about 1300 miles on it and has a loud tick from the lifters and they said will you can send it back and if we find something wrong we will rebuild that engine and send it back it would take a couple of months. I explained that this is my only car I cant have it down for that amount of time. do not buy form them there is a reason the engine is so cheep. they will lie to you to get you to buy a engine form them and brag about the great warrenty that covers nothing. read more
