They even offered to open up a large bag of aquarium gravel so I could purchase the small quantity that I needed. It should also be noted that the plants and wood from their livestock tanks can also be purchased. This is especially useful as I have found it can take a long time to get a dry piece of wood well soaked and free of tannins (or as much as can be)! I'll definitely be going back again.

However, the museum is worth visiting for the butterfly house at the back where you can sit and watch the butterflies fly around you, and even land on you. The museum is right next to Canoe Lake and Southsea seafront so there are lots of other things to do on the same day.

These were really eye catching and unique, it gave quite a different feel to the butterflies feeding. There were plenty of butterflies and moths to see, flying around everywhere and landing nearby. There is a gift shop with some unusal and interesting gifts, it is not your normal museum and definitely worth a visit.

Everything you could need to get started, modify or kit a tank for cold, tropical, or marine fish. As well as a huge selection of fish, mostly tropical, but marine and coldwater a plenty. Many species I'd never seen before so rather exciting options for my tank. Prices cheaper than most the local fish shops I've seen, and the fish look happy and healthy. The staff are friendly, sometimes lacking in number, but they know what they're talking about when you ask questions! Always go here first for when I'm looking for aquatics supplies and fish.

I recently purchase an aquarium, the necessary paraphernalia and (after having cycled my tank off course) a red and white fantail goldfish (called "Mo"). The staff were really really nice and very helpful...I cannot rave about it enough. They have lots of choice too (fish / plant / tank etc).

The aquarium is a lot smaller than most other ones but they do have two large sea turtles and a few stingrays in their main tank. The size of the sharks in the main tank was a bit dissapointing but it did not spoil the whole experience. They did have another tank with a few mixtures of sharks which was quite interesting. I like the fact that they had a few other animals, not just animals you find in the sea to spice up the attraction. There was an interactive video unit that allows you to record yourself pledging not to do a few things to help save the environment.

I was excited to visit this aquarium on my recent trip to Brighton as they advertise themselves as…read morethe world's oldest aquarium. When I arrived at the ticketing office, I was told that one of the tanks would be closed for refurbishment. However, they didn't stress that it wasn't just one small tank, but an entire section of the aquarium. With such a large section of the aquarium closed, it was an absolute waste of £20. While the architecture is pretty, Sea Life is way overpriced for what you see. With the refurb going on, the flow of the place was messed up and the signs directing you where to go were not clear. I am hoping that I accidentally missed a section, because otherwise I paid £20 to see 2 rooms of fish. The only time I ran into staff members was in the ticketing office and gift shop, so there wasn't anyone I could have asked for directions. This place might be worth the pricey ticket after the refurbishment is complete, but until then I would skip SeaLife in favor of some of the other attractions in Brighton.
