God I love work functions...
Located on Flinders Lane in the CBD, Bluestone is a restaurant and lounge bar.
We didn't eat off the menu so I cannot comment on the food per se however, from what I heard while talking to the guys who organised the event, it has won numerous awards and has been in the Age Good Food Guide 9 years in a row so those guys are surely not kidding themselves and you can expect a lovely fine dining experience if you ever head there I, for one, will certainly return.
Talking about impressive, Bluestone surely boasts an impressive wine list, which it displays proudly on shelves along the wall harbouring the dining area in the restaurant. Glancing at its a la carte menu, you can expect to fork out in the high $20s for an entree and $30s for a main - I've marked down the pan seared ocean trout, blood orange w/ snow pea tendrils.
It's open for lunch & dinner and being a sucker for dim lighting, I reckon it'll be perfect for a romantic dinner.
You'll find the lounge bar downstairs - a cool and stylish New York style basement layout where you can grab a seat, chill over cocktails. Those, who are hungry, will love the pizzas and tapas on offer - we had pizzas and I have to say they're seriously good + check this out, they have live jazz nghts on Thursdays.
If you're into Pizza making, they have that as well where their chefs basically teach you how to make pizzas. This, however, is generally a Corporate event which requires a minimum spend as well as a sizeable number of attendees. It's meant to be a team building activity apparently.
To finish off... (As Gordon Ramsay would say)... I like it... I quite like it... Bluestone has made my must-try list and, well.... We'll meet again... read more
