Easy access in/out, protected area, nice facilities, convenient restaurant or a fairly short walk to the village of Pheobus. Being an urban marina, you can hear a bit of the I-64 noise but it does not prevent you from getting a good night of sleep. We will definitely stay here again when cruising through the area.

I have performed a…read morebottom job on my 30' sailboat during the 'Off Season' which took 5 months and also I kept a 23' runabout boat at the marina inside the fence on a rack due to the hassle of trailering. Their Forklift puts it in and takes the boat out & hoses it down after use. Then places it on my designated wood rack again. No hassle. Now (June 2019) I'm waiting for my Va, boat registration transfer from N.C. to Va. so I can change the numbers (& state) off the hull and take my new(er) Center Console boat down for the boating season. Back River is a great area to fish, relax and pull up to Factory Point and enjoy family time. I highly recommend Bell Isle. John

Plenty of beautiful birds to watch. It is most unfortunate that the marina restaurant and bar are closed and the building is not operational at all. The bathroom facilities are clean however the biggest deal for us is that there is no code to use the facilities (especially at night) so it feels unsafe. Actually, it is unsafe. My husband walked me to the the restrooms in the middle of the night and thank goodness he did because when he went into the men's bathroom there was a homeless man utilizing the sink to clean himself. If I had gone by myself and encountered someone at 2am I would have been pretty unsettled about the situation. So be aware.

Even with COVID, the amenities are comfortable, clean and well maintained. The boardwalk around the Marina is terrific for exercise and biking. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the community is welcoming for long term boaters and transients alike. This quiet and safe community Is convenient for provisioning and there are many dining and entertainment options within 10-15 min drive. Every marina has its stuff that it's working on, but having spent time at several marinas in the area, we are proud to call Salt Ponds home. We can't wait until the COVID restrictions are lifted and the pool can be opened.

We had planned to haul out in a few months for blister repair and bottom paint, after observing we decided we found our place. Excellent work, reasonably priced, and impeccable communication. Great pool and bath house, laundry, floating docks, dog park across the street, with instacart and walmart delivery options. Great short ride to Yorktown via dinghy to enjoy the free hop on and off trolly tour. Can't say enough great things about this place we will defiently return.

There are a couple of beautiful flower gardens, not to mention the marina is nestled in a placid area surrounded by large trees. The entire marina is pristinely manicured. They have a full working service yard and haul out. The ship store is stocked with a wide variety of boater's needs. We are on the great loop and needed a repair to our bow thruster, the marina was happy to work us in even though they were booked through July! So much to do close by, Uber does pick up from here and food can be delivered. If you get the chance this is a great place to stay.

Walk a little farther..but still walkable, to full service grocery, marine supply, and multiple food/retail outlets and bus stops just outside the gate. Nate Harris, the manager, and his crew take care of business, get to know you, and are always willing to help. You can't go wrong if you are eligible to use this facility.

My husband was underway for a month cause he's in the navy and couldn't get to it. The guy I spoke to said he understood and would explain it to the manager. Judy got VERY upset over a simple mistake and asked if she could call him. I said no cause he's on a naval ship UNDERWAY. Family is all he can contact. Then had the audacity to say to me his wife who barely gets to see him "he's allowed to call you but not me?!" I've never been so baffled in my life. We will be leaving the marina very soon. Do not recommend it. Didn't even try to reason with us just jumped to conclusions. Awful management.
