When you first walk inside there is a guy at this window trying to quickly size up what your purpose to the shop is. And although it was a bit strange by normal standards, I realize that this shop is a far cry from the chaotic "anything goes" type shops I've heard about around here. The waiting area up front is seperated from the chairs in the back. Which ironically made the shop feel a lot calmer than normal shops Where everybody is sitting in one room screaming, debating, or trying to get their point across. It's almost like you're going to a nail shop or spa!! BEWARE! THE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM IS IN FULL EFFECT HERE!!!! I was alarmed when a lot of older guys walked in and went right past me and into the chair ahead of me after waiting 30 mins. But the cut was worth the wait. The barber was very nice and experienced and gave me the best flattop I've had ever!!!! And those are honestly tough to cut! Most times when i ask for it they just ramp it up with no scissors or shaping. But this was a totally different experience. And since there was no talking or commotion, the focus was on my head at all times. Priceless nowadays. This is by far what a barbershop experience should be. Calm, relaxing, and productive. I wish there were more shops like this.

I told him if it was too inconvenient for him that it was okay, but he stayed anyways. I knew that I had like am ice cubes chance in Hell to get someone so late, but thanks to Wardell for pulling through. Other perks: Disability friendly (used my service dog), saw wheelchair access, great prices for services, and clean environment. Only con - The shop has apparently been there for decades and it's sort of overshadowed by the automotive and tire place in the same lot, so it isn't easily spotted or navigated unless you know where you are going. And maybe that the music was a bit too loud for me since I can't hear well in one ear and it made it hard to communicate before he turned it down. Overall experience: Wardell was extremely communicative and asked as many questions as he needed in order to get me the cut that I wanted. He didn't rush anything despite it being later at night. He had a good mixture of being conversational and quiet. When I didn't communicate how I wanted the back to be cut as much as I could have, he let me show him and constantly asked me to check in the mirror. He just really seemed to love his job and care about his customers. His prices were also extremely fair and I am loving my new haircut. I'll definitely be back.
