The best advice is to sign up online for a spot in line. It's a small place with limited seating. There is a hallway when you enter. Usually, people are standing in the hallway waiting. Inside are two kiosks. If you already signed up online, you'll still need to go to the kiosk and check in. If it's full, you'll be asked to wait in your car. We went several times, and wait times got worse while we were there, sometimes lasting at least an hour. By using the online feature, we probably only waited ten minutes. Overall, the workers were nice and seemed to be understanding of the wait times and tried to be helpful. read more

The workers at this location need to focus on the customers rather than horse playing with each other. When a customer approaches the counter once their number has been called, the BMV representative's first words should be "how can I help you today" and not a blank stare as if the customer is bothering them by visiting the BMV today. SMH. Please do better. read more

This BMV is not as crowded as alum Creek and maybe some other ones but it does take some time. They don't move very fast but they do move. You can wait outside once you check in and you'll hear your number and they'll call you in and then you can get your business taken care of read more

Just like all the other businesses, the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles has had to make significant changes to how they do things.  I must say, their adjustments definitely have more pros than cons. The Cons: No seating inside and you have to wait outside to maintain social distancing, which is expected.  Consequently, considering the hour-long (and beyond) wait without an appointment, you'll either have to stand or sit on the ground.  I sat on the raised concrete for awhile and, being winter time and wearing sweatpants, that wasn't a good thing.  If you sit in your vehicle, you'll have to wait for them to call your ticket number over the exterior loudspeaker.  This means leaving your window open. The Pros: When you first arrive, you walk inside to enter your information in one of the three kiosks.  During this time, you can select what time of business you need to conduct.  Depending on the type, you will be issued a code with a letter that precedes your waiting number.  This sets up your agent for the general transaction type, which will speed up your time. Once you get your number, you can go sit in your car (and roll the windows up, unless you just had cabbage), then check online to see where you fall in the general wait time.  This brings me to the big advantage with online services.  You can log in from home, prior to leaving for the BMV and make your appointment there.  This way, if it says there is wait time of significant length, you know you have some time to relax before leaving, which is what I should have done to begin with. And if you haven't learned by now, license renewals have been extended so many of you don't have to report by your anniversary date.  Just be sure to find out when yours is due. read more

At least if you call number 1 and have number 8 I know I am up soon, but when your number V124 and you are calling D570 I have no clue what the actual wait time is! Someone gave me a tip to drive out here & avoid Columbus. I knew they were right when I called to clarify questions i had about title transfer. 1. they answered the phone on the second ring. 2. They PATIENTLY provided detailed information. 3. Information was correct 4. The customer service on site was EXCEPTIONAL. The clerk assisting us, Tina, was outstanding. She went beyond what was required to help us. During COVID-19 there was a significant crowd for the licensing section. (Different door) For titling, you have to call and make an appointment. Can be day of, or before, you want to come. Was easy & fast service. Of course coming early is always best. read more

I needed a duplicate of my title. I went here and it was a bit crowded on Saturday. Good thing i pay attention because the Title section has moved to a new location. They are now located at 12945 Stonecreek Dr, Pickerington, OH 43147. She was done printing me a new title by the time I got my money out. I believe this is the only Title section open on Saturday since the pandemic. read more

I went to a different BMV before this one and service is horrible those people treat you like a dumb. 1583 Alum Creek Drive or 3481 E broad street they don't have a good costumer service. While I waited EIGHTY-TWO minutes to be seen, I am giving this BMV 5 STARS and more! The service from the employees was top-notch! When I walked into the BMV, I was greeted by a friendly BMV employee who kindly went over the new check-in procedures with me. It was nice to be able to check-in using my cell phone number so that I could receive text alerts. It was also nice to use the link provided during check-in to see where I was in the queue. Because of these new conveniences, I was able to sit in my car during those 82 minutes and relax. I should have run some errands and been more productive, but oh well - maybe next time. Once it was my turn in line, I was able to get my new vehicle tags and new temporary ID within 15 minutes. The service was quick and efficient. I received my actual ID card in the mail within 7 business days. I was advised that due to the pandemic, the new IDs will not be required for air travel until May 2023 now. I definitely loved the service that I had this time around - great improvements,, BMV! read more

This BMV is worth the drive from Columbus! I was in and out in about five minutes, the people were friendly, and they took my debit card. It's hard to get even one of those things at the BMVs in Cbus - much less all three! You better believe I'll be making an annual trip to Pickerington to get my tags renewed. read more

If an experience at the BMV can be good, then all my visits to the branch in Pickerington can be described as such. Unlike the several other offices that I've been to, none of the employees at this branch seem to be on a mission to make life miserable for those who come in. On one occasion when I stopped in to renew my license, the office had been experiencing spotty internet service. The woman who was helping me told me to stick around for a few minutes and see if the computers came back up. Sure enough, they did! What's more, it's rarely crowded except at peak hours (lunch time). And even though it is in Fairfield County, you can get Franklin County tags here. It's worth the drive. read more

Well, it's definitely better than the ones smack downtown. This location has it's down times - normally late morning and after the lunch rush. There's usually not that long of a wait, maybe 15 minutes at the most. Clean floors. Minimal "decor". Seats along the walls; however, sometimes there's not enough. For the most part, the workers are "polite". Perhaps, more like "to-the-point", which works with me (I don't go here to hang out, haha). They staff here are much more friendlier than one would usually encounter at a BMV. The best part is there is usually not a long line!

I have been to this location before and unfortunately, have never been impressed by their service. A customer can "get in line" on the BMV website to save their spot in line which is a timesaver, if done correctly. The Lancaster BMV did operate smoothly just 3 weeks prior when my husband and I went there. We had reserved a spot online, checked in at the kiosk when we arrived and got in and out in 20 min. They were very efficient. The Pickerington office is not following the procedure and when I entered the building, I was told that I still had to get in line outside (which was a super long line, clear to the outer edge of the parking lot for all the businesses there. So my son and I waited for 2 1/2 hours and entered and then put my phone number in the kiosk, as directed by staff there. At this point, we're already inside the building, so what is even the point? Only 4 staff were serving all these customers. The lady who helped us was friendly but the process was completely way too long. Either hire more staff or follow the online procedure to be more efficient. read more

Terrible experience! Looked up hours and number online. Said closed at 5:30 and called. Was put on hold for 6:00 so I hung up and decided I would just stop by since the hours were convenient. Traffic was terrible that day because of an accident on the freeway (70) and I arrived at 5:01. The girl working (short, brown short hair and thin) did not greet me in anyway just said were closed Co.e back another day. I had to ask when they were opened next and how much my service cost (which was $4.50) being so simple I thought they would help since people were still inside ans the website said they closed at 5:30 but I wasnored. If I could give them a zer0 I would. I waited 20 minutes with 8 people ahead of me and then heard one of the employees discussing with the others that they shouldn't take any more customers and that one of them should close the bathroom (what?) It was 10:45AM. My number was next and they announced that they had to take the BMV system down for 30 minutes. Someone complained about it and they took that person ahead of me so I guess the system wasn't down after all. That means I would have to wait 50 minutes to get my drivers license renewed. This is the second time I have been there over 45 minutes. Shame on me. I will not go back to the Pickerington Deputy Registrar. I went to the Agler Road Deputy Registrar, I was in and out in 10 minutes and still had 8 people ahead of me. They told me the system hadn't been down all day. If you live on the east side of Columbus, I recommend the Agler Road location. They have three times the personnel as Pickerington working there and are super fast, helpful, and friendly. read more
