Frank Drywall - Trash left outside my front door

    Frank Drywall

TLDR: I would not recommend them based on the terrible workmanship and unprofessionalism. They have…read moreno respect for their clients. I got multiple second opinions and they were shocked at Franks "work", quoted me over $7K to fix and re-do it all. Apparently they deleted their google profile because they had so many bad reviews coming in so I will post my review here too. Very shady behavior! I originally left a 1-star review and was quickly contacted by Frank's partner, Robert L. He claimed my review was unfair because I didn't allow them a chance to fix the issues. Despite giving them a second chance, they failed again. I was left on read and to make matters worse, someone from their team texted me, calling me "beautiful," making me uncomfortable. Lack of Research and Initial Red Flags: I take responsibility for not researching this company thoroughly. The warning signs were there, and I should have trusted my instincts. I still don't know if they're licensed or insured since I couldn't find them on sunbiz.org. They ask for 50% upfront -- something other contractors later told me is a major red flag. Communication Issues: This company's communication is awful. Their excuses? "We're busy. We have many projects." A quick text takes seconds, especially after taking a large upfront payment. On day 2, they no-called, no-showed without notice, leaving us confused. My husband contacted Frank, who said he was at urgent care with his son due to asthma. I later learned from other upset clients that he used the same excuse with them. Emergencies happen, but failing to notify clients is unacceptable. No showing, and arriving later than promised is the norm for them. A late start is one thing; poor communication is another. During prep their workers moved our belongings without supervision, leading to broken items (magnets, knick-knacks, houseplants) and missing ones - our bathroom vent disappeared and was never reinstalled. We had to buy a new one. They never told us about the damage or missing items until we confronted them. Unprofessional & Suspicious Behavior: I came home to find an empty cookie wrapper from my pantry on the floor -- someone ate my food. Our garden hose, which they used vanished from my home. After my husband texted Frank, demanding its return, the hose reappeared the next day but no explanation why they took my property with them. They also used our step stool, left it covered in paint, and didn't clean it. Lack of Transparency: The contract lacked key details -- no start or end dates, not even an estimated timeline. We were verbally told to leave our home for 2 nights, I knew that wasn't enough time, but we ended up displaced for six days. That would have been fine if they provided updates so I could plan for my dog and job. Any attempt to get updates was met with vague, unhelpful responses. They promised to repair and fill holes per the contract, but that was NOT the case. Terrible Workmanship: I am embarrassed by the results. Multiple professionals told me it looks like a beginner's work. There was paint and debris on our $3,000 couch, on my father-in-law's guitar, on our living room TV, and on our walls throughout the house. The job looks rushed -- globs of knockdown texture, rough patches, and visible popcorn texture remain. Light fixtures were installed incorrectly, creating more work for us. Final Results: This experience was a nightmare -- broken items, poor workmanship, and unprofessional behavior. Learn from my mistake: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, we paid on time and were understanding, yet we were the ones screwed over. Giving them a second chance, I knew I was wasting my time. They play the victim but if they truly cared, they would have done the job right the first time -- or at least shown genuine effort and respect for their clients.

Do not make the same mistake I did. You can see the major…read moreissues in my screenshot; constantly late, leaving windows as well as my door open, leaving my hose running, and using my household cleaning equipment (mop, broom, and vacuum) They claim to have removed all of the tape but I'm still putting noticeable sized pieces off of my walls, and a vent cover is missing in my dining room. My pantry was not painted after priming, in which the partner, Robert, saw as he was the one to place the door to be reinstalled. I brought up the paint peeling and he said "there's nothing you can really do about it, you'll just have to repaint." My indoor broom was left outside as well as my indoor doormat. Drinks and black&milds were left outside my front door when they left, and 8 trash bags and 2 buckets sat in my yard for over 36 hours. He claimed to be there the last day out of "the kindness of his heart" when in reality it's because I had already paid. Not worth the money I paid, not worth the time I was displaced from my home, not worth the stress of missing work as an active duty military member because they couldn't keep up with their punctuality. I was told to let them know if there were any other issues but I rather handle it myself at this point than deal with them 1. Not answering the phone, 2. Not showing up on time, and 3. Not completing the job I hired them for. If you're looking for professionalism and quality, move around.

BUT, my last service with this company - the person did odd jobs (easy) was at my house 7 hours and charged 1700$. That's about 242.00$/hr for things like changing a light bulb on back porch with my step ladder... having a wreath hanger over a tall door I could not reach due to ‍. And the invoice you be the judge. I have now asked 3 different handyman and all said this job should have been 600$ at the most. And why was he at your house 7 hours for these tiny jobs ( except one saftey bar placement in bathroom). You be the judge. I won't be recommending them to my neighbors or friends. everyone is struggling with high prices but to take advantage...

I might have been a BIT wary when Karen told me that I would owe the cost of an estimate ($94) if I chose against using their services. I might have given 2 stars because Clayton was such a stand up guy. He arrived on time, studied the job, took pictures and returned to his van to write up the estimate. Drumroll, please..... One Thousand and Ninety-One Dollars!! Yes, you read that right. $1,091.00!! And this is for doors that I already OWN!!! I laughed! It was preposterous!! 4 or 5 TIMES the amount I was considering appropriate for the work involved! So if you have lottery money, give these folks a call. I bet they do a good job. They better for what they charge. If, like me, you DO NOT have lottery money, it's back to the drawing board. Postscript: Home Depot has a BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT SLIDING SCREEN DOOR for $89.00 plus tax - $94...coincidentally what I paid for the pleasure of an estimate. Note to self: ONLY free estimates from now on; only free estimates, only free estimates, only free estimates...

I am rating this company one star because, after submitting a check for payment in April, it was not cashed, now its December. Mrs. Amy contacted me in December, initially suggesting the check had not cleared, implying like it was my fault they DIDN'T cash the check, 8 MONTHS LATER. Two hours later, she stated the payment had been processed. I immediately contacted my bank the following day due to this discrepancy. My bank confirmed an unauthorized ACH withdrawal was done DECEMBER 10TH 2024, they investigated the matter, and refunded my money. I am extremely disappointed by this company's actions and their lack of timely communication. Amy's persistent contact over a week felt like harassment. My attempts to speak with her supervisor as I requested was unsuccessful. This company demonstrates poor communication and problem-solving skills, consistently placing blame on the customer instead of taking responsibility for there faults. Hopefully the owner of this company will attempt to resolve issues that customers have, since the COO which I was told that's Amy's supervisor, WILL NOT RETURN CALLS.
