It offered a better view of the action even though I had to keep turning my head to check out the scoreboard to the left of me and then turn right to watch the players at bat. It's a nice looking stadium. The brick oven pizza is delicious. The vendors, staff and fans are friendly. To keep kids engaged there are contests and relay races on the field between most innings. The team hosts a lot of events to benefit community causes including food insecurity and animal shelters. There a fireworks displays periodically which are fun to watch. It's certainly worth a visit.

They do things differently there…read more If you happen to be in this very busy part of central Albany, perhaps getting an amazing Gyro from My Gyro Station, or a Falafel/Shawarma Pita sandwich from Mamoun's, you will instantly notice the massive, dominant, haunting, imposing structure across the street, just the way you see it in the rainy picture I posted. The Armory, for me, is the most spectacular sight in Albany. Partly because of the way it looks and dominates the area with its sheer size, but partly because it's in an area full of shops and people and traffic, and really stands out from all the typical downtown hustle and bustle, rather than being tucked away somewhere. It's right on a major intersection. It give Albany a lot of character and is well worth checking out. Definitely a 5-star attraction. And if you fall in love with a French girl here (probably from Montreal), then that's very Amoury.

They are still using the old building for internal needs but have built an entirely new environmental center and it is beautiful. The center is spacious and includes several educational areas covering everything from culture within the region, native plant life, Bee habitat, Bird of prey and other wildlife, building Greening process, and photovolactic energy production. They also have a large learning center where a group of students could watch a video or partake in training during a field trip. There are multiple walking trails available where guests can get some exercise, enjoy wildlife, and nature. We could have easily spent half a day here but only had a few hours to explore one of the main trails. There's a lot of parking on site and staff are super friendly It didn't cost us anything to come out here and enjoy everything they have to offer. If you were in the area and are looking for something outdoorsy to do, I highly recommend paying them a visit.

I first attended the concert series a few years ago before the pandemic, then occasionally in the last couple years. Concerts are free but donations are encouraged. Some refreshments are sold, but bring a picnic and eat before or during the concert. Last night we went on a "moonlit hike." I heard this was the first one held. It was a 1/4 mile walk through the woods to the river. I'm very glad we went, but would advise anyone going: wear appropriate footwear for winter! Crampons, snow shoes, walking poles and the like would be good advice. The trails were fairly icy because that's the weather we've had this year. Get into the group closest to the leader so you can hear the speaker, or maybe they will have a tour guide near the end so that group can hear, as well. There is a lot of fascinating history here! The original home was heated snd the Information shared inside was amazing: observing the living conditions of these early settlers... did you know the second leading cause of death for women(after childbirth was long skirts catching on FIRE?! Definitely a worthwhile tour. Afterwards, go have delicious pub food down at the River Road House, where there is more history to be learned.

The kitchen offered hotdogs and chips for $6. A help yourself, kind of like a 7/11. There were no snacks for the women. On Sunday the temp was 55 there was no hot beverages out on the course. Apparently the kitchen made up bag lunches for the women but chose to give them out after their 18 holes were played. Poor hosts to say the least.

The coolest thing is that it is the custom here to walk with a  pushcart, so I get lots of exercise.
