And I waited in line some more and came to a person at the till and she said she wanted to double check if they would be able to give me the $5 seniors discount. I man came out and he said that I would have to go all the way to Cochrane 56 km one way -112 km total,(where the dealership was) since they would be out $5 and Cochrane deals with their own registry. They didn't want to be out the $5, (even though I explained again I called first and also that the woman who talked to the lineup said just show them all the paperwork at the till). The man left and said he would look for the woman (Elaine). I suspect he wanted to give her a heads up that they weren't going to give me the $5 seniors discount, so that when I saw her she was prepared. Then when I saw her she changed her story - denied what she said earlier and changed it to 'I told you they would decide at the till'. All this to save the inconvenience of giving me the discount (after I was told I would get it). This is beyond believable, that for $5 which I was entitled to they would treat a senior this way. I'm going to go to another registry close by (with higher customer service ratings) and I bet anything they will give me the $5 discount.

He didn't ask for how long I wanted to register it but assumed it was for only a year. After I noticed he was processing the registration for a year, I corrected him. My fault I guess as I assumed he would be asking questions such as length of registration. I provided proof of insurance for both vehicles and subsequently received the new registration certificates. I went home and then looked at the certificates and realized he had registered My corvette. It's not the first time this registries made mistakes but I'm afraid my patience has run thin.

Over a dozen visits to Express have been most trouble-free: their effectiveness in dealing with so many public concerns has proven them to be relatively headache-free. It seems obvious that this place is run by business-minded people, which in contrast to most government-oriented services stands out as special. As well, their multi-cultural staff all are courteous even with complaining customers, and efficiently keep focused on the task at hand while gently commiserating with the disgruntled ones. As well, they have to deal with all kinds of accents and troublesome immigrant concerns like learner's permits, licensing and registrations. Soothing... My last time there was this past week, and when I had to get some docs from my insurer in Edmonton, they made it so easy to receive a needed fax, and then told me I'd not have to grab another number to wait in line again, but just make myself known 15 minutes later. I did so, and in only another few minutes I had everything done. Cool, eh? The posted speed limit was 50 km an hour (excluding the free playground zones we went through) but as I am somebody with a child, I always am careful, no matter what vehicle I'm driving, when driving through residential areas. I maintained speeds between 30 and 40 km an hour, and the instructor tried to tell me that I was driving 25-28 km an hour. Impossible to even argue since I didn't have a chest camera on. He failed me on the premise of obstructing traffic, Even though he was driving three car lengths behind me and holding up traffic himself. I am absolutely astonished and would like to warn anyone going there for any type of road test to be wary, wear a camera, and be ready for the cash grab.
