They have pantry for when food supply is low at home (only once a month). They give vouchers to get clothing next door at there salvation army thrift store. And They offer utilities and rent assistance. A much needed assistance that I needed being Christmas time and with no job. They also do plenty of community activities and assistance for holidays. I heard about Urban roots last year (2025) and participated in 2 events. This year I signed my…read moredaughter up in the preschool program for this spring and it has been a wonderful experience. The programs are extremely hands on, including arts and craft activities, sowing seeds, harvesting and tasting vegetables. My daughter looks forward to visiting Urban Roots all the time. Ellena and all the other staff members are always so friendly and welcoming. They're informative and all seem to really enjoy their jobs at the garden. This place is just wonderful for everyone regardless of age. I highly recommend it for all kids but especially for homeschooling families looking for extra curricular activities.
