The staff are hand picked and know your child so well. Both my kids have started their big school with reading and writing skills way above the average. From the owner: At The Butterfly Preschool our aim is to engage children's ability to learn in a fun and…read morestimulating environment. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum along with a forest school approach of doing lots of learning outdoors, what ever the weather! The curriculum is carefully designed to make sure every child has the ability to learn in an environment that makes them unique. All our children aim to reach their early learning goals by the time they leave us. With fully qualified teachers and Early Years Practitioners, in a small and homely environment we aim to create a home from home nursery. The nursery school operates a 5 morning a week programme which are three and quarter hours long (9:15am - 12:30pm), as well as lunch club, afternoon sessions and pick ups from local nursery schools. The nursery stays open 4 days a week until 6pm so you can have a preschool education with the day care hours.

Don't part with any money before taking up the offer of a trial class with this organisation. I…read morefoolishly paid an upfront registration fee for my child during the summer holidays when the "Club" offices were closed with nobody available to ask for a trial class. Immediately they reopened I phoned and said that I wished only to do a trial class at this stage. They banked my registration cheque the day AFTER I informed them of this, and then refused to refund it to me the day after the trial class proved unsuitable, on the grounds that it had already been paid in to their bank. Their responses to my emails seeking a refund were tardy and surly. As to the class. It was unsuitable due to distance travelling. But it was just "OK" and no more. It was amateurish and set up in a makeshift way in a church hall. There was little attempt to welcome or put the children( at ease about 15 in a class) and of the one hour about 15 minutes were "freeplay" and a bit of a waste in such a short time frame. An expensive "solution" to exposing your child to french and nit really much fun. Getting together with francophile friends if you have them probably better! And then why not buy some of the great french language song tapes available online and watch Pepper Pig in french online!
I was very lucky to come across CPP by chance more than 4 years ago. Since the initial trial class,…read moreI have attended the weekly group classes, holiday clubs and one-off children´s activities all "en francais". Having witnessed Stella´s immersion method through attending her weekly lessons and through the results, I would thoroughly recommend CPP. Stella really cares about her students and is a hands-on experienced business founder. I would also like to highlight that CPP´s method works for non-native french speakers as much as for native families. There is so much originality in the teaching content, that continually has the children´s attention. For my children, French is a third language and is not spoken at home. Hence their progress is noteworthy and very much to CPP´s credit.

We couldn't have been happier with how welcoming and comforting everyone was as she made this transition. She has been there over a year now and Dawmouse is like family. They were professional from our first contact, arranging a visit and as soon as we walked in both my son (single father to his son) and myself (Grandmother where I am his mothering figure) both said 'YES'. My Grandson loves that place. He has some additional needs and Little Acorns supported and quickly made the necessary referrals for our boy. He is sadly moving on to a school nursery in September. However, will be back in the School Holidays. Pure gem of a place and you will not be disappointed. THANKS TO ALL AT LITTLE ACORNS

The head teacher is very committed, she stands in the playground everyday welcoming the children to school and chatting to the parents. She seems to know every child individually. Academically, standards are quite high. Even at Reception stage the children's day was jam-packed with activities, but not to the extent where the children did not get what they were learning. They did so much cooking every week, I wonder how the teachers were so organised! I was very sorry my daughter had to leave when we moved away. A school I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.
