At The Butterfly Preschool our aim is to engage children's ability to learn in a fun and stimulating environment. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum along with a forest school approach of doing lots of learning outdoors, what ever the weather! The curriculum is carefully designed to make sure every child has the ability to learn in an environment that makes them unique. All our children aim to reach their early learning goals by the time they leave us. With fully qualified teachers and Early Years Practitioners, in a small and homely environment we aim to create a home from home nursery. The nursery school operates a 5 morning a week programme which are three and quarter hours long (9:15am - 12:30pm), as well as lunch club, afternoon sessions and pick ups from local nursery schools. The nursery stays open 4 days a week until 6pm so you can have a preschool education with the day care hours.

History

Established in 1998.

The nursery was established in 1998 as a Montessori School. It was taken over by Mrs Charlotte in 2018, remaining a Montessori school. Mrs Charlotte has modernised and grown the nursery school, operating in the main church building and the church hall, taking over what was the Compton Nursery.

Meet the Business Owner: Charlotte B.

The nursery has been established since 2012. Originally set up as a crèche it soon turned into a flexible day nursery run by Mrs Charlotte and her team. Now with Mrs Charlotte's children heading to school she has changed the business to suit her needs of being off for school holidays! She still lives in Clapham and walks to work most days so can always be seen in the local area with or without the kids. Mrs Charlotte is a qualified teacher as well as holding a Physics and Math's degree and with her team of well qualified early years practioners, they run a successful flexible preschool with day care hour education.
