On the way down, heard an odd sound coming from under the front of the car at highway speeds. Checked under the car and a panel under the engine that was loose. At higher speeds it fluttered up and down. I'm not a mechanic nor have a lift to get under the car. We were in the neighborhood a couple days later, and I brought the car over just to see what they could do. Although they're always busy, they had an empty bay, and put the car up on the lift. Brian explained it was the clips that hold the "belly pan" in place. He fixed it in about five minutes; and when I asked "how much?" his answer was i'm a good customer. There's no charge. I would highly recommend Brinkerhoff Service anyone, who needs quality work done.

My car was checked and it had a P0130 reading but instead of fixing the owner Kevin said I had to agree to pay $210 because his mechanic needed an hour to figure out what the P0130 meant and once it was figured out they would fix my car. But what happened was after an hour they gave me a report of what needed fixed plus 5 other problems and with the classic oil leak scam. Also they couldn't fix it today like the owner Kevin claimed. So I left and the next day went to a trusted honorable mechanic and he right in front of me hooked up car with the gizmo saw the P0130 and told me and right in front of me called for the part needed to fix my car. Told me price and asked if I was good with it, I said yes and car was fixed in two hours and I was back to driving my car. Kevin the owner of Del Hatt Automotive knew what was needed to fix my car but decided to play off my fear and ignorance and charge me $210 so his mechanics can make a list of other things they can charge me for so they can drain me from as much money as possible. I am so angry my hard earned money gone, they wasted my time I told Kevin I needed car for work asap but instead I had to spend more money to rent a car.

Dropped it off tue night so it would be there 1st thing  wed. morning for my 1st thing appt. (They knew when making the appt. We were leaving on a trip that Fri. Morning). At 4PM they notified me, that their "expert" RV tech couldn't find the rating plate (it's by the drivers seat like all RVs). Then failed my NYS RV inspection because he couldn't figure out how to push a button on the control panel to turn the wipers on. When I told them how the wipers turned on they then decided I had a running light out, when shown the law, that those lights arent inspected, they decided a crack in my windshield would fail it anyway, (crack in not in view, not wiper path as law states) However they did elude to the fact that it would pass inspection if I allowed them do the work they wanted to do. Was quoted : $250+ diagnostic charge to figure out the wipers (that worked) $50+ or a wire nut on the running light $2600+ for tie rods that had "slight play" $400+ for the alignment I declined the additional work and was given my recipt, and NY inspection report, they only reason for failure sent to the state was my wipers (that worked), they hand wrote the light and windshield on the form. I don't like to male assumptions but seems like that is exactly how they could pass it if i gave them $3k. The following morning 9am, my RV passed inspection at another place, no issues what so ever. They Charged me. $26 for an imcorrect NY emissions/safety inspection (RVs are only safety) $1,000+ for basic transmission service.  $125+ to mount and balace (2) 16" tires that I supplied. This is an RV on a basic ford econoline chasis with 30k miles on it. There is nothing heavy dury about it at all. I am very disappointed. I was hoping to find a decent and honest mechanic, this place seems to be anything but. I will be filing a complaint with new york state.

I was comfortable enough in the waiting room and had access to WiFi so I could do some work. I used a coupon and my total was around $85. I was a bit surprised because I usually pay around $70 at other places, but they did use Euro grade because I have a cooper. My only other thing was that the technician who moved my car was smoking as he got into my car. He wasn't smoking in my car but the smoke got in there and I could smell it for the rest of the day. Otherwise, I was very satisfied and will be happy to come back. It's obvious that people coming in love coming here and respect the work done.

I got the inspection done today and the experience was great. Jay, one of the owners, welcomed me to the shop, very friendly. I sat in the waiting area after they started the inspection. There was another customer there and we started chatting. He couldn't praise the guys there enough. This other customer and I started lamenting how a lot of businesses don't provide the same customer experience we were use to from when we were younger (yes, bunch of old guys lamenting the world is going to...) and he said J&J is one of the exceptions. Jay showed me some additional concerns on my car...brake and tire wear. He showed me the problem areas and said I have some time left but these expenses are coming down the pike. It was refreshing to see this sales approach...I was aware he was upselling the other services they offer and I was totally happy with that...that's what all businesses must do. It was the approach, education, and showing me why the repairs would be needed that convinced me that when I need the work to be done, I will go to Jay and his team. Well done guys and keep it up! The first shop I went to told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car and it was in perfect shape. I wish that were true but my car is 12 years old and pushing 275,000 miles. Not to mention that I heard all sorts of popping and clunking noises while I was driving. It's a great commuter car and I'm trying my best to keep her going. That's where C & V comes in. When I got there I was greeted by the very friendly, Regina. I let her know what was going on with my car by doing my best Michael Winslow impressions and she relayed the message to John and the crew.
