Three guests had informed the venue well in advance that they required Gluten free bread rolls. Unfortunately, this was obviously too difficult a request and the guests had not been given any food until well into the evening. There are only 4 female toilets to cater for 300 women. Definitely an OH&S issue and against Australian Regulations.

The sweeping staircase, stunning chandeliers, and gorgeous table settings have an air of elegance to them - whether at a debutante ball or wedding. Even the entrance and foyer to the building is beautiful, with a white exterior, and marble entrance. If you are planning a cinderella-esqe type event, where everything is traditional and sweeping grandeur then this is definitely the place for you. Both times I attended an event here, the food was delicious and the banquet service staff were great- they were especially good at keeping the drinks flowing, which is a big thumbs up for me.I just wish that the events held there could run later, though I guess that is the same with any function room -plus after they had kept the drinks flowing, it was probably better that I went home to bed anyway!

Staff were good, particularly a very slim Indian woman (perhaps a student) who worked ferociously with impeccable manners. Her hard work was noticed and should be appropriately rewarded by her bosses. The only confusing thing is why they call it Luxor. Nothing Egyptian here apart from a couple of straggly palm treesand a bit of Egyptian inspired cornicing. The designers failed.

The dinner service was flawless, and the staff were very attentive, from making sure each guest was taken care of, to ensuring the bridal party and of course the bride and groom had everything they could possibly need. The main function room itself is beautiful. The room is circular, and the dance floor in the centre is surrounded by guest tables and a wedding table party that overlooks the room. I loved the set up, and it was a perfect set up for the perfect wedding. I also attended a couple of highschool presentation evenings here to accept some awards in my last couple of years of highschool. The venue worked well for that event too. Iwould highly recommend checking it out for your own events.
