Derren skill as a 'colourist' is well known globally, but what you may not know is that he is a magician when it comes to bringing dull hair to life, for making unruly hair stay up for a formal function (perhaps more impressive is that he makes you feel at ease about having your hair 'up' in the first place!). He did a bad job, totally belittled me by telling me my hair was in 'shit condition" and I had ruined it by not coming in as a regular client. He thought he was gods gift to hairdressers. After 5 hours and $400, I left , just had to get out of there and when I got home realised how bad it was. I was in tears, went back in the next day, and asked him to fix it. He ranted about how 'fantastic' the colour was, and that it wasnt his fault, it was my fault and thats what i had asked for. He wasnt prepared to 'fix it again' without charge, so I left in tears again. Im a student with not much money. I then had to go to another hairdresser, pay $200 to get it fixed (now, i love it..they were fantastic and understanding) The new hairdresser was shocked at how bad a colour job it was and said I should get my money back. He has refused to compensate me in any way, and I am now going to Consumer Affairs . S T A Y A W A Y.

I've been here 3 times and never struggled getting an appointment or had any issues. They saved my hair when another local salon did a horrific job. And the barbers who work here are far from being the old men we're used to seeing with their crisp white shirts and neat, slick hair. In fact, I'm pretty sure the barbers who work here are al young and look way too cool to be at conventional barbers anyway. Make no mistake - Sweet Georgia Brown is no where conventional. My partner decided to try this place out and was pleasantly surprised. The haircut was fast, efficient and he left feeling lighter and said, he actually might come back. He's picky so it's a good sign! And at $35 a pop, you can't really complain, can you!

That's never happened before and it means I don't look scraggy after the haircut. Well the point is its' a better qaulity than most. It's also a product of it's own success. They did make me put a "downpayment" ($65) to hold my appointment because I was a first-timer but other than that no complaints. I will be coming here again while I'm out of the States.
