This was a challenge and I found the most effective way was through Facebook. Email didn't seem to get responses nor did the phone. I thought I'll let that go as most of these companies are part-time and I could understand the delay in communication. Next step... get signed up. I got a class date but had to inquire about payment type, times, location, etc. None of this was easy to find. I sign up and go to the building. No sign. Oh crap. I wait to see what happens at the location. Finally close to time for the class a guy pulls up in a truck and puts a magnet sign on the door. I enter. The class is all over the place and normally there are two guys... one who does the class and the other does the range. While going through the class I ask about the Groupon that I found online. He waves it off like it was not for this class and moves on. We get through the material and onto some training with weapons. Once we were finished he told us that we would have to drive all the way out to KEITHVILLE because his range was underwater due to flooding. This would have been nice to know up front!!!! I would have found someone within that mileage range to compare against if I had known. If I have to drive that far anyway, why not try another company. We get out there and finish our training. After the class I went back to the Groupon and found that it was, indeed, for that class specifically. After going back and forth with him the Groupon miraculously disappeared. He tried to argue that the fingerprinting, notary and lunch made up for the difference in cost, really a difference of $85.00? Fingerprinting I can get done cheaply, notary I can get for free through my bank and I could have bought my own lunch. I find this to be unprofessional and greedy.
