I have used other therapists in the past, but once I met Dave, I immediately recognized the difference. Dave is a hands on therapist, meaning he is going to manually work on you, as well as assign therapeutic exercises. Since working with a therapist that manually works on me, I have noticed a significant increase in my healing time. When you have an appointment with Dave, he is with you every step of the way. Therapy can be painful as you heal, but Dave makes sure to distract you with humor (think bad dad jokes) when needed. The big difference with this practice is the approach to the client. When you are there for a session with Dave, he is only going to be working with you. He isn't dividing his time between several clients. I decided to use a different therapist, so I went to Seacoast Physical Therapy. To my amazement and after three weeks with David Johnson and Mary Jane Phelps, I was able to stand up straight, something I had been unable to do for a very long time. Soon afterward, I was able to walk twice as far as I could before. A week later, I felt so much better than I put my surgery on hold. Now, at the end of my sessions, I have a set of stretches and exercises that I try to do, but must do, every today.
