I have worked with Dave Johnson at Sea Coast for years now. I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos, which takes great expertise to work with. I have had several surgeries that required Dave's special skills. I just had shoulder surgery, bicep repair & tendon relocation and I am currently working with Dave again. I have used other therapists in the past, but once I met Dave, I immediately recognized the difference. Dave is a hands on therapist, meaning he is going to manually work on you, as well as assign therapeutic exercises. Since working with a therapist that manually works on me, I have noticed a significant increase in my healing time. When you have an appointment with Dave, he is with you every step of the way. Therapy can be painful as you heal, but Dave makes sure to distract you with humor (think bad dad jokes) when needed. The big difference with this practice is the approach to the client. When you are there for a session with Dave, he is only going to be working with you. He isn't dividing his time between several clients. There may be bigger practices in town, but there are none better than Sea Coast. Give Dave a call, your body will definitely thank you for it! read more

I've had severe pain in my lower back for more than 20 years. I've tried everything: chiropractic, physical therapy (P/T), steroid injections, laminectomy, nerve ablation, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), acupuncture, massage therapy, and more. The procedure to having spinal stimulator surgery required me to go to physical therapy first. My expectations were low, but P/T was a requirement. I decided to use a different therapist, so I went to Seacoast Physical Therapy. To my amazement and after three weeks with David Johnson and Mary Jane Phelps, I was able to stand up straight, something I had been unable to do for a very long time. Soon afterward, I was able to walk twice as far as I could before. A week later, I felt so much better than I put my surgery on hold. Now, at the end of my sessions, I have a set of stretches and exercises that I try to do, but must do, every today. I've had knee and back problems for years and have never experienced the caring, thoughtful treatment that I've gotten from Dave, Erica, and Steve. The office staff are friendly and it is easy to get appointments. But the best are Theresa and Erin. I have one of the toughest injuries to rehab - Achilles tendon rupture surgery. It is a long hard recovery. Theresa and Erin continue to mix up their effective treatments, guide me through recovery and rehab, and challenge me in just the right way while simultaneously being supportive. I had back & neck pain and Steve, Dave & Erica took great care of me. They all have different techniques and they all worked so well with me. They listened to what my problems were and addressed them perfectly. They are very honest and truly focus on each patient. They make you feel very comfortable. The icing on the cake is that they are all hilarious and will make you laugh! I always looked forward to seeing them. There is no reason to live in pain or discomfort. If you are looking to enjoy your physical therapy experience, then this is the place to go! I have had my fair share of PT experiences and this one tops the charts. They are a fun, light hearted group and are 100% dedicated to patient improvement/satisfaction. They are all very easy to talk to and are very knowledgable. Laughter is definitely part of just about every visit which makes going that much easier. I would recommend this facility and its staff members to anyone I know! Horrible business office. Sent me a bill for the same dates as the previous bill I had paid. When I asked them to revise the bill to reflect dates I hadn't already paid for, they never sent the revised bill. Instead they sent me a notice that I had 10 days before they put me in collections. Add that to an issue where I left several weeks of therapy with a major shoulder problem where I had no shoulder problem when I went there. But the business office is the primary reason I am writing this review. Absolutely unacceptable billing office. read more
