I never partake in yelp reviews but this one is worth it.. This review is nothing against the salon as a whole I know there are amazing stylists in the salon like Denise Freels ... here is my story my daughter in law who is 22 years old has never had her hair colored before she decided she wanted to go blonde she is a natural light brown she saved up for months to get this service done .... She showed pics to a new stylist named Shelly . Long story short she left with orange hair and minus 315 dollars before a tip. The experience was so disheartening she was so excited she was told by the stylist that she was trying out a new bleach and then that it would take multiple apts at a high expenses to get blonde highlight??????? my daughter in law then wanted a tr amd curtain bangs and Shelly told her she didn't need a trim . I have shown the before and after pics to multiple stylist compared to the pic she said she wanted and no one understands how you take a natural light brown to orange when the hair is virgin . I reached out to the owner not expecting anything in return but hoping that by the kindness of their hearts they would atleast offer to fix her orange hair. A 22 year old saving up to get their hair down for the first time leaving orange and being charge 315$ should break anyone's heart. Very sad by this situation from a local business read more

Don't go for a new pop up salon. I'm a local and I appreciate this salon for being drama free, relaxing and professional. The windows are always decorated with flair and warmth. It's a bright spot on Main Street. Old on the outside, mostly windows; It feels modern, comfortable, peaceful on the inside. And the owner has been there decades hiring hairdressers with 9+ years experience and better than average character. read more

Went from extreme pain to extreme pleasure here in a matter of a couple days. My mother-in-law got me a gift certificate to get my eyeliner tattooed and have a facial. The owner, Teri, took care of me herself. She was very sweet and accommodating. She made sure I was as comfortable as possible both times I went. My eyeliner looks fabulous. I love that I am able to just get up, put mascara on and go. She did a great job. She was a bit of a perfectionist and I definitely appreciated it. The facial was like heaven on earth. I didn't want it to end. I'm going to have to make it a habit of seeing Teri every time I make it up to Bishop. read more

I would give Body & Soul a zero star review if I could! I had gel pedicure done by Kristen 3 days before my wedding. I had seen pictures of her work posted on Facebook and was impressed. This is a picture of the work she did for me. It was the worst gel pedicure I have ever seen. No self- respecting or professional manicurist would have allowed a client to walk out like this. Unfortunately, I did not see this until I left the nail salon. I spoke with Kristen about the situation in an attempt to resolve it. However, today I spoke to the salon owner, Teri. Kristen lied to her and told Teri that this was not her work and that I was fabricating the story. I cannot express enough how terrible an experience I have had with both Kristen and Teri, in regards to both professional services and customer service. I live in San Francisco and spend money on my eyebrows. After visiting Bishop for the summer I was in dyer need of getting them waxed... I went to a salon very close to Body & Soul and had them waxed. The lady who did it seriously messed them up! One eyebrow was gone the other looked like it wasn't ever waxed?! I'd rather of had a blind 3 year old do them then the lady who had.... The lady who did them had no idea at all what she was doing and honestly was really really really terrible. I won't say who or where the business was but damn I'll never ever go back or recommend them to friends... Ahhh. I then got a recommendation from a friend to go to Body and Soul and have Terri do them.... Terri made a significant difference and saved them! I asked her to match them and she did really really really well! Lesson learned. I will now be going to Terri and appreciate her seeing me so soon and reassuring my eyebrows to look fantastic! This place is super nice and really adorable! Ask for Terri! I haven't been seen by anyone else there but from what I saw the staff were all really professional and good at their job! I occasionally visit Bishop, Ca for work. On this particular visit I was in desperate need of a pedicure. I had the pleasure of having this experience provided by their manicurist CATHY. I walked into a clean and contemporary salon and was quickly greeted with a warm and friendly smile. I had plenty of color selection to chose from both regular polish and gel. I told her about my medical condition and Cathy took extra care with my feet which shows the depth of her knowledge. She did a wonderful job, was kind and professional and she and the owner even offered me some pears before leaving. I will definetly come back here the next time I am in town and in need of some more papmering. read more

I was visiting a friend in Bishop. I was in desperate need of a pedicure and called five different places to get in, on a Monday, with no luck. Someone suggested Cathy at Body & Soul. We called and she stayed late for me!!! It was a perfect pedicure with great products. The best thing was Cathy and her warm spirit. Kriste has been doing my nails and my pedicures for over a year now and I just love her work! She is meticulous with everything she does and her nail art is amazing! I REALLY love this place. The closest thing to a "spa" we have in Bishop. I have gotten several different services here - hair cuts and styles, weaves, manis, pedis, facials and even a spray-tan. One-stop shopping! The only thing that would improve it would be if they also offered a shower area. It IS pricey, but you get what you pay for! If you want spa-services, you need to be prepared to pay spa prices! All the ladies are very nice and accomadating and they offer water and coffee. I also got a glass of wine with my facial. They do run some pretty awesome specials from time-to-time, particularly during the holidays. read more

Where do I start! What a great shop. The decor is beautiful. I live in Mammoth where it is nearly impossible to get someone to do nails, gels and definitely not acrylics. Terri did such a wonderful job on my gel manicure, and they have the mood changing gel colors I love! I didn't even know she was the owner until halfway through my appointment. She was so friendly, professional and warm and did an excellent job. You know ladies how some salons you walk in to and the people that work there can be snobby, judgy or catty and just make you feel completely uncomfortable? Not here. Every single person that worked there greeted me and they were all so warm and inviting. They offer an array of services for pretty much any beauty need.
