The practice has a real cult following and this studio teaches the very same methods and techniques you will find in any certified Bikram Yoga studio across the globe. The room is large and never cramped which allows you your own personal space to perform your own way. The staff here are incredibly friendly and great you personally by name and if they don't know you they make an effort to ask your name so they will remember next time. They are mostly ladies and happy to answer any questions. The studio rents its own towels and mats if you need for only $2 which is very good considering that prob cost you just as much if you had to wash your own after each class. Toilet and changing room facility's are clean but the mens changing room needs a blow dryer. That's really my only issue. The studio offers a lot of different price options from single classes to yearly membership.

There are a lot of instructors so you will have to find your favorite and give other instructors a shot if you're unhappy with your first experience. I LOVE SUZY. She is amazing. You will definitely love her. The other instructors are pretty unfriendly, but that shouldn't deter you because the classes are fine. You can rent a mat for $2 and a towel for an additional $2. Unlike other places I've been, lots of students do this so it feels very acceptable. If you're a beginner considering trying this place, there are a few things you should know: (1) There is a first-time Bikram student in every class without fail, so you will not feel alone at being a newb. I've never been in classes with so many beginners, and it was comforting as I don't know what I'm doing. (2) The classes are huge, so you will get less firsthand attention than you will at other studios. After doing it for a couple weeks, I was frustrated at how little they were helping out first timers with really important and obvious adjustments. You might find this lack of attention frustrating. (3) There is a 10 day pass for $20. It's a steal, so you should try Bikram out here to see if you like this style of yoga in general.

The studio is clean and hygenic, with quality equipment and great extras (like supplied towels, because as if I can remember to bring my own). Studio classes are a max of 4 students at a time, so you generally get personalised attention unless it's a particularly busy Saturday morning and things are a bit crazy. Teachers spend time learning about each students body and modifying the program where necessary to make each student comfortable - I always feel confident that I'm in good hands, no matter which teacher I'm seeing or how badly my back is playing up. The only down side is being in a studio class when an XTend Barre class is on - the soundtrack is terrible! Haha I kid (although some of the songs should be left in the 90s)

This is my first yoga studio visit in Australia and I am pretty impressed with the diversity of yoga instructors and the varied practiced happening in this small studio. I have attended the donation classes both Wednesday and Thursday (12:30pm, 1 hour) for the last four months and think it's great. It is usually a Hatha yoga class that focuses on core strength, something we all need, but sometimes you get a sub who will do a lot of moon salutations or chest openers, all good. Be sure to enter the building on the St John's Road side through a small door and up the staircase. It's easy to miss.

You can save money from buying 10 classes at a time but even then it is $22 a class and a student doesn't just have a spare $220 in the kitty!

Emma has created a small, lovely space where clients feel comfortable and get in a great workout. The space is basically a big room with front and back areas, complete with top notch Stott Pilates reformers, ballet bars for Xtend Barre classes, some other workout equipment like Boshu balls and a little bathroom in back. It is clean, comfy and a perfect little studio to get a good sweat. They also offer private sessions. I have taken half a dozen Xtend classes and about 4-5 Pilates reformer classes. I haven't been disappointed with the space, the price or the people.

The instructor, Linda, is bursting with energy and enthusiasm and, with only 6-8 people per session, she is able to dole out encouragement and advice to each every one individually. The group sessions of 6-8 people just require you to bring a mat, but there are also equipment classes available for a maximum of four people. The night I went along it was just me, a mother and a daughter and two friends. This made for a really warm and encouraging atmosphere. I also remained miraculously serene given the trials my body was being put through with the help of the chill-out music in the background. Although my body is shouting no, my head is crying out to go again. Best to buy your classes in blocks of 10 ($380) or 20 ($700) for better rates.

Its opposite Woolworths in Crows Nest and upstairs from the rug store. Theres a gap between the travel agent and the rug store to walk through and access the elevator. I've been to 5 machine classes. Scattered start times mean students cross over and get the most face to face time with Linda. The most students I've shared the studio with is 3. She uses the 'reformer' machines along with many other tools to help strength and lengthen the body. Customised on-the-spot solutions for individuals to work with injuries and problem areas. Purchasing block classes allows consistency and its a cheaper option. No surprise there, this beachside town is a…read morehot spot for health, fitness and good looking flexible hotties from the young to the, well, less young (but still arguably fitter than a lot of people in the thirties elsewhere). Having mentioned my yoga tendencies to our air bnb host, we're staying in Bondi for a month during our twelve month working holiday, she keenly handed over two free class passes to BodyMindLife Yoga. Having walked past the studio a few times and enquired about their starter offer for $48 which to me is great value for unlimited 30days yoga, considering you've all the time in the world when on holiday here, I was keen to see what it was like inside. They have a range of classes to choose from and if you ask you can find out which teachers are suitable to your level of experience. We started with a essentials at 28degrees practice, there's also the open practice which is available at 28 or 30 degrees and yin yoga, meditation is also available. Being that in England I found practicing flow yoga in a church hall during winter too hot, I wasn't sure what to expect when you turned the temperature up to what is essentially a heatwave in England, I bought a towel and large bottle of water in anticipation. (I can tell you now, I sweat my arse off, so I'd advise you do the same.) The women were lovely, a quick tour of the place, a few guidelines on etiquette, which I always appreciate - there's nothing worse than someone distracting your meditation with a phone going off of whispering. Though two women didn't fully embody this attitude at the start of the lesson and I did feel distracted from settling into my space. Essentials class is there to introduce the key poses to those newer to yoga and fully emphasise the posture and alignment of poses to those who practice. For myself I found this really helpful, there was both an instructor and assistant who would come and adjust your pose to the correct alignment and my god do you feel it in certain positions. For others I think the basic process of movement into the pose was really beneficial. I am used to vinyasa or flow yoga, this class actually holds poses for a lot longer so the focus on core muscle strength is intense but really I found it helpful to come back to basics and recognise the muscles that need to be engaged and focus on my alignment. I would advise this for anyone at any level to refresh and refine your key poses. This class for me didn't hold much mental relief as I was holding so much concentration on extended poses and my alignments that I actually forgot to breathe at times and at other times my breath ran away from me, occasionally we were encouraged to bring it back with deep inhales and exhales in between, I would just say if your looking for a mental stretch and relax then a different choice of class would be more beneficial - I haven't tried the others as of yet so I can't advise on those, but as a company they seem friendly, capable and clean. I definitely feel like I've had a good work out and found myself a few new muscles to engage! Namaste.

A few notes:…read more Pros: -they offer many reformer classes daily with varying levels (Align, Flow, Dynamic) -clean studio -variety of instructors -intro pass was a great deal ($48/4 reformer classes) Cons: -Difficult to reach via phone, I called several times and left a message but never got a return call. I had to actually go in person to have my questions answered -They do require you to take a basic reformer class (Align) prior to advancing to their more difficult classes. This is great if you are a newbie, however, if you have any basic understanding of the reformer, you will find this unnecessary and a waste of an hour as you may not get much of a workout -they are super strict about their late policy. I was only 3 minutes late and was told I could not join the reformer class. I understand 10-15 min late, but under 5 minutes...really? A bit unnecessary given it only takes 30 seconds to adjust the reformer bed to your height, meh :/

Carefully and with in depth knowledge, I was taught how to strengthen my core, support my back and move with comfort and ease. These are not "one size fits all" group classes but rather, individually tailored sessions with a maximum of three clients. Each person is guided through their own specific exercises which vary each visit, depending on how their body is feeling. Clients are of all ages and range from remedial with injuries through to professional athletes. Elouise and Vanessa are outstanding teachers- both in their knowledge and their expertise. As for me, thanks to Pilates, I have gone from feeling like an invalid to an athlete. My Pilates classes are now "bring it on" sessions where I feel I get a great workout and am in the best shape I can remember. Also, the studio is brilliantly located opposite the Cremorne Orpheum with great cafes around and there is free 2 hour parking in the IGA car park underneath. Amanda Durack
