I went to this facility last year. Wanting to be daring and get a brazilian bikini wax. I was very hesistant about waxing after reading that it causes so much irritation and how it removes part of the skin b/c of they way its applied and removed. So after doing research discovered that sugaring is being used at some places instead of waxing. Found several places in Columbia that uses sugaring but couldn't get an appt so ended up going here. Place: located in the Vista. Easy to find, metered parking. The inside is very well laid out and decorated. A nails technician works there too. They perform other things besides sugaring. Mabel: she was the lady that gave me my sugaring. She made the experience easy enough while being in such a vulnerable and embarrassing position. She stated that she had almost 12 years at what she does. I was hesistant about her application but she reassured me and did not did twice into the sugar. If necessary she used a new glob. She was very professional. Experience: PAINFUL. This was my first experience in such a tender area. I have have my eyebrows threaded and waxed several times but this pain was different. She assured me that new waxers state it is painful the first few times but as you adjust you adapt. I guess this is true b/c i can get my eyebrows done without a muscle twitch. I would fore warn newbies to take 2 pain relievers at least before going like Tylenol or something. During she applied baby powder b/c i was sweating so much. The sugaring felt warm and applied easily. Afterwards i made sure to wash in the store any excess. When she was finished I love the results. It was smooth and soft. Some reddened areas but she applied a special lotion to prevent breaking out. She even went over how to care for the area. The room: was clean and new sheets applied after I was through. All her products looked well care for. The only thing I didn't like was the positioning of the doorway, once she had to answer a call and when she exited I was left exposed when she opened the door. Also, I wish it had thicker walls b/c I could here her and the client before me clearly while I was in the waiting area. At home: the hair didn't return for almost 4 weeks and my skin wasn't irritated at all. I would definitely do it again, with her or a different facility I'm not sure yet. Price: I pay $55 for student discount but the services are pretty pricey. read more

The new location is still being 'fixed up' but I have no doubt it will be fully running very shortly. Sugaring, as the name obviously states, is the main focus here. You can have the hair removed on any and all body parts. Men and women are welcome, though services for men are just a little more expensive. Full brazilians for women are $75 ($60 if you are a returning customer within 3-6 weeks). The classic bikini is $40 and there is a partial brazilian (which is in between the classic and the full) is $50. The owner, Mabel, is really as sweet as can be. She has the most wonderful and kind demeanor and can really put you at ease. And that is saying ALOT when you are baring your lady bits to someone! read more

WOW so amazing! As background, I've been getting Brazilian waxes for 4+ years - they always hurt but I've learned to bear it because that's just how it works (had multiple different aestheticians throughout the years- some where mush better than others, but it still hurt). Cons of waxing, sometimes the wax is too hot and burns my sensitive skin and sometimes too cool that it pulls hairs. My appointment with Mabel was amazing, I felt at ease immediately!! The Body Sugar used for removal was room temp, it didn't bother my skin at all (I have very sensitive skin), yes you still feel the hair being removed, but she pulls in the same direction as hair growth, so it came out easily (unlike with waxing when they pull against growth causing more breakage / ingrown hair and pain). I don't have any of the "after sting" like with waxing, I feel great!! She was gentle and personable the entire appointment, she gave great tips for care etc. even recommended a good product to help with irritated skin / ingrown hairs. I called a few times on Friday to schedule an appointment for a full brazilian. Each time (called 3 times between 9am - 12pm) there was no answer - the answering machine prompts you to leave a message but I would much rather speak to someone directly than wait for them to call me back. I finally received a call back from a number other than the business number (which is why I didn't answer), it was the owner inquiring about missed calls to the spa. I immediately called the business line back and she answered. She thoroughly went over the prices and options for sugaring but didn't have to go into much detail because I've had the procedure done before elsewhere. I wanted to get in to see her ASAP but the earliest she had available was 2/11/14. We agreed on the date and time. She was able to give me an appointment 15mins earlier than her scheduled opening time because I was going to be in the vicinity which I was super grateful for! She confirmed my number and asked for an email to send a confirmation for my appointment. The weekend was long and slow because I was anxiously (hairily) awaiting my Tuesday appointment. Monday finally came, no confirmation email or call. The forecast was calling for inclement weather so I was crossing my fingers my appointment wouldn't be cancelled or rescheduled. I finally called to confirm my appointment myself after 5pm because according to yelp the business closes at 6pm. She answered and stated that we are still on as long as the weather holds up and there aren't any closures but she'll shoot me a text when she gets up on Tuesday at 6am to let me know. Made it to Tuesday!!!!!!! I turned on the news and nothing had changed as far as weather or closings... no text. I drop my son off at school and head over to the spa (running 40mins early because I was in the area and I wouldn't have time to drive home and come back out to make it to my appointment). As I'm turning on to the street of the business I get a phone call from the owner (8:17am) she has a water break and won't be able to make it to the appointment as scheduled (8:45am) - she apologizes and reschedules for 10am. Stuff happens, I have a few things to keep me busy while I wait, so I wait. 9:22am she calls again... the plumber is still working on her house so she has to reschedule again, now for 12pm. She gives her sincerest apologizes which I can only accept because I do want to be seen, she also states she'll give me a $5 discount for the inconvenience. 12pm comes and I'm finally seen - she let's me get set up in the room, she's very personable and continues to apologize. The procedure takes about 45mins and I'm very happy with the results. I plan to return in a few weeks. read more

I found this Spa by google because the spa I went to closed. This spa had great reviews and I was impressed by the owners bio. I first went for a customized facial, my first in over 10 years. The owner, Mabel, performed the service. Mabel listened about my skin problems then analyzed my skin. She then gave me the greatest facial ever!!! Lol. I was sad it was over lol. Afterwards, she suggested I try a skincare line to meet my skin needs, which was just a sample of the products to make sure I liked them. It was no pressure to buy. Let me tell u, my face glowed after the facial and it was super soft. I've been using the products for about 2 weeks now and can't believe how my skin has transformed. I had a few breakouts but it was minimal the first few days and after haven't had any since then. My next visit was for a Brazilian sugar wax and underarm. I've heard about sugaring but always have gotten the wax. I was nervous because I haven't had anything waxed besides eyebrows, in over a year. Again Mabel performed the service. She eased my concerns and it was over before you knew it. The sugaring itself did sting a little but it wasn't too bad. I liked the results and surprised I didn't have any irritation after. Overall the place is relaxing, the staff is very nice and professional, and I have rescheduled for my facial as well as the sugaring. My best friend and I decided to give this establishment a try for my birthday and we honestly thought we had found a new local spot to frequent but after realizing we were overcharged for our treatment the owner refused to refund us the difference. Their website has one price but they charge you more without even notifying you of the difference before hand. When we brought it to the owners attention she stated that the website hadn't been updated with the new prices and offered $5 off of the next service. That was an overcharge of $10 each plus we both left a $15 tip each which almost equals the total cost of a full service according to the incorrect internet prices. A few days before my trip I called the spa, no one answered (probably because they were with clients- no big deal), but the voicemail led me to the website where a booked an appointment online very easily and quickly. This was my first time trying to remove any below the waist hairs---EVER! I was very reluctant to even try the process so decided to go full monty---underarms and everything thing else! *BEWARE*I visited Body Sugaring and Wellness Lounge a few weeks ago because I had a breakout and I wanted my pores to be cleaned and cleared. When I came home I noticed a lot of blackheads still on my jaw and the side of my face. I called and was told that I just needed to come in every 4-6 weeks. The reason I went to have a facial was to have the blackheads and whiteheads extracted. I am very disappointed. I have been going to Mabel for the past six months for monthly Brazilian sugaring appointments and have had such a positive overall experience with her. I was new to all of this so at my first appointment she made me feel so at ease during the entire process and it definitely didn't hurt near as much as I expected and the results were fantastic! Such smooth skin with absolutely no irritation at any point afterwards, and virtually no regrowth in the first week after it was done. She is a great conversationalist, which keeps your mind off of the fact that she is in your "business" and every month we pick up the conversation exactly where we left off. I am amazed by how much attention to detail she has such that she remembers to ask me, "oh, how was that trip you took" or "did you get that problem resolved" or "how is so-and-so?"
