I had the very best quality care from Body Central for a severe injury to my arm. All the staff there are professional, caring, knowledgeable & treat their clients with respect, kindness, & patience. Mathew Wise was my Physical Therapist at the Swan & Fort Lowell location, & I believe I would not have advanced as far as where I am without his skills in Sports Medicine. With over 30 years experience he knew how much to push me to advance to all the phases required to get back to full functionality. The atmosphere at this office is fun, friendly, minimal waiting time, & not rushed. Robin was a pleasure to work with. She helped me learn coping exercises, and massage techniques to help with pain, and improved body strength. She's, a very skilled PT, and I enjoyed working with her very much. Her assistant Aubrey is also on point, always available to help out, and take over. Don't go here if you are low income. When I paid my $50 copay they also charged me almost $400 on top of that in one visit, despite paying my copay every time I go in. They claimed they would give me a refund several time and then refused to refund me. This amount was taken from my account without my consent and left me with a negative balance in my bank account so I now have no money to get by until my next paycheck. I'm a nonprofit professional and I can't afford to be taken advantage of like this. If money is a concern for you go literally anywhere else. read more

I have been to their Broadway location and the feeling was really different compared to the Swan/Camp Lowell. It was cramped with equipment. The people there were okay I guess. I had a student intern, and she was great. Abby was really nice and encouraging. She just got her PT degree and now she's got to go somewhere else to work because they weren't hiring at the Broadway office. I was disappointed because We got along really well and I knew some of the exercises from past PT. read more

I went for my first appointment today at the Tanque Verde location. I was told to arrive early to complete paperwork, but no one was there. Once they arrived, there was no front office staff. Finally I was given an iPad to do my paperwork. Ten minutes and hundreds of questions later, when I clicked "submit," nothing happened. I told the front staff about this issue, and she said she was going to give me paper forms to fill out instead. I stated that I'd just spent 10 minutes filling all this out. Then, with her rude, unmasked face, she told me, "This is different. Besides, you didn't even fill out everything on the first one." This is not the way to treat any of your clients--especially new ones. You should show up on time and be kind and helpful--not rude, snide & accusatory. And you should WEAR A MASK for everyone's safety. read more

So disappointed by my experience here.. They weren't up front about my payments, and I ended up with a large bill and no improvement. The payment paperwork signed was definitely different (but I guess there's fine print so watch that) If I had known the cost of the appt before I had it (and I tried to pay at check in..) I would have cancelled. It was just this huge surprise, my PT had said he'd discharge me if it wasn't working, and he waited until after they gave me my surprise bill. I feel very resentful of this place. They made me feel like a little kid in gym class.. I don't recommend it. read more

Failed to do their job. My injury was initially misdiagnosed by the PT. It took 7 sessions (4 weeks) before the PT thought to reevaluate, given there was no progress in injury recovery. During the 7th and final authorized session, he made a new, correct diagnosis. Perhaps a strategy to charge for a new series of sessions? What about the $800 out-of-pocket I paid for useless treatment of a misdiagnosed injury?! If incompetent treatment weren't enough, the accounting department actually refused to explain (in plain English, not insurance industry codes and abbreviations) the extra charges billed in addition to my copay - could they be hiding overcharges to me and the insurance company?! BodyCentral is a severely broken system of treatment and customer service. Go somewhere else! read more

Update: I finally got through to them and made an appointment. I really liked the physical therapist but the rest of the staff were pretty lax and uncaring. The tech set me up with an exercise and then wandered off to fold towels. Really? It's my first time here and you're not going to watch me to make sure I'm doing the exercises correctly? I went just that once and that was it. I did the exercises they taught me at home. Previous review: Is this firm still in business? They have an answering machine don't answer the phone or return messages. I was referred here by my doctor but will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I felt that the staff working with me was inexperienced. Not sure I understand the benefits of doing exercises there - unmonitored - that I was asked to do so at home - especially since no one monitored whether the exercises were being performed correctly. Please stay clear if don't want unwanted billing issues. Since the first time I saw them they incorrectly billed my insurance company and its been a nightmare ever since with all my other claims. Even though I did like my therapist, many other younger therapists there are extremely unprofessional. It's so difficult to find a therapist here in Tucson that can treat you for your rehabilitation and not give you added stress when it comes to proper billing. So sad! Just don't - especially if you've got a more serious diagnosis that requires a lot of regular physical therapy. Not only can no one at the front desk handle billing in a competent manner, the therapist I had been recommended to (after not being able to see my old one) was constantly trying to pass me off onto assistants and despite me having a treatment plan for years, wanted to do their own thing which resulted in my being hurt. When I asked for different treatment, the therapist took it personally and I was treated to a tirade about how I should be grateful that I didn't have a meaner therapist (never mind that they already said they wouldn't treat me anymore). Find somewhere else, anywhere else, where they actually care about listening to their patients, because this ain't it. read more

Went to the Body Central at the 1640 E. River Rd location. Had a appointment at 9:00 and I'm coming from Benson Az and was told that my appointment was canceled and they didn't even call me so I didn't didn't make the hour drive. The receptionist told me that she wasn't the one I talked to make 7 appointments. She didn't even care and I asked to speak with a manager and I was waiting 30mins and still no one came. What kind of business does this when they call you when you miss appointments. I just canceled all my appointments! Went to the one off Tanque Verde, one of many patients Dr. had during the hour. Very rushed and PT minimally knowledgeable about how to fix my problem. Very disappointed, and it's not cheap. I found someone else. They are opening many other locations, very nice people but I think they just want the most amount of people and money. read more

I am so frustrated that I wasted the majority of my PT credits here before trying to move on. If you have a broken ankle or something, I'm sure they can help you. If you have a chronic illness of any kind, stay away. Appointments are only 30 minutes, 10 of which are spent alone on a hot pack, another 10 waiting for your PT, and 10 minutes actually spending time with them. My actual PT was seen once a month or so, with the rest of my appts being with an assistant who didn't know how to do what I was originally there for. This place is made to make money and that's it. Even if the PTs have the skills needed, the way it's operated does not allow them to use those skills. Find someplace that will give you at least 45 minutes of their full attention (and there are much better places in Tucson, I promise) because you won't find anything like that here. read more

The people at the Camp Lowell location really got me back on track with my shoulder/chest issue. I went about 10 times or so and got excellent service, and the techs were almost all very attentive and helpful. I felt welcomed here and friendly smiling faces even when it was busy. The exercises were customized to me and really worked on the problem I had. By the time I left, I feel practically healed. The exercises to do at home (and my gym) really enhance the experience and are essential and will be ones I continue to do to keep the issue away. read more

Third time was not a charm. My two stars is solely on customer service by the Doctor. First time in I was early as asked filled out more paper work as usual and was seen by Dr Amanda about 15 minutes past my appointment time, ok that was pretty good. Second time in I was early and was taken back about 15 minutes after appointment time ok for a Doctor. Third time I got caught in a little bit of traffic and ran in the door 12 minutes after my appointment time and was told that Dr. Amanda could not take me. The appointment was for 7am and there were no cars in the lot other than the employees around the side and not another patient in the building. So it's ok with them to have you wait but not them. My time is every bit as valuable as theirs. The quality of therapy is not part of this review as I didn't go enough to evaluate. This was at the Swan and Camp Lowell office. read more

I just had my second visit here out of about 8 that I'll need, and I can't say enough about how great this place is. I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my first child and my obgyn recommended I go here for help with hip/lower back pain I've been having. The staff and therapists are wonderful. I saw Tal for my first visit and I'll be seeing Melissa and her assistant, Ashley, from here on out because they specialize in pelvic related issues. Everyone has been great so far! They make the experience something to look forward to, instead of yet another doctors appointment to dread. Highly recommend! read more

I can't speak to the therapists because I was never able to see one. It took weeks to schedule, eventually I had to physically go in because they never return a phone call. I then had to schedule for several weeks out. When I showed up for first appointment they said they had no record of me at all despite having my schedule card with the date and time. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else. This was my experience at the Swan location. read more

I can't say enough about Tonya at Body Central. I pushed for almost 3 hours with my first delivery and did a lot of damage to my pelvic floor. She helped me through my next two pregnancies and postpartum periods to recover more quickly and thoroughly. Tonya even hooked me up to a machine that measured my pelvic floor tone to be able to tell which position was best for me to push and deliver in. I now send every one I now to see the physical therapists at Body Central, they are amazing. Pelvic floor therapy should be a part of every women's pregnancy prenatal care. read more

Unfortunately I can't give them a great rating. My appointments here felt very rushed-- get in and get out. I also don't feel like I got the treatment I should have. Actual hands on therapy was very limited and quick. When I gave feedback to the therapist, she got kind of "snippy" with me. My therapist even told me there was nothing she could do for the pain-- yet she told me to keep coming back anyway... which makes no sense to me. Why should I keep going back and pay big money to someone who rushes me through my appointments, spends little time with me, and who can't help me with the pain? So I took my business elsewhere where they actually do seem to be able to help me a bit more, where my appointments don't feel so rushed, and where I get more actual therapy. Also, this place charged me more money for my appointments but spent less time with me. The other PT place I went to charged me less money but spent more time with me-- because of my experience I can't recommend this place. read more

I was turned away after arriving 5 minutes late to what generally is a 60 minute appt. I particularly find this interesting as I have many minutes waiting in the waiting room and waiting for/looking for the pt during my appts. I will never return nor will I recommend. If you decide to book anyway, please make sure that you understand your insurance coverage because the front office staff has not clue one. read more

Beware!!! My PC doctor referred me to this company for PT and they got me in right away. What I didn't know, until after going for 3 visits, that my insurance DENIED the claim. I contacted my primary care doc and she said to appeal it with insurance. I did appeal and it was GRANTED, so insurance paid them their "amount allowed". Now I am being billed by BodyCentral for the "Amount not allowed" by my insurance co. I PAID MY $50 COPAY EACH OF THE THREE TIMES I WENT, BUT NOW THEY ARE BILLING ME AND ADDITIONAL $414.00 THAT WAS "NOT ALLOWED" BY INSURANCE!!! This is called Balance Billing and is illegal in most state--and will be illegal in AZ starting 2019! They did great PT with me, but know the cost before you go!!! read more

Great place to get PT! Big building and lots of room to do your treatments. The PT's are great and very attentive to what part of your body needs work. They are only open till noon on fridays so just be aware of that. read more

I went to my first visit for PT on May of 2018. I paid for my visit with my HSA card and did not realize they had charged my card $900 instead of the $90 they had mentioned. I reached out to them a couple of weeks later when I was trying to pay a medical bill and the funds were not sufficient to cover it. I left a message and that afternoon received a call from someone in billing name Lisa, she was pretty nice but unfortunately I did not hear back from her again. I then called a second time a couple of weeks later and left another voicemail. I waited a couple of more weeks thinking it takes some time to refund the card right? I should see it soon. Come the end of June I had to call again because I had yet to see the credit on my card. I left a third message in July, by this time I was pretty upset because they were not even taking the time to call me. I've been pretty patient, by this time I've already asked to speak with the billing supervisor Larae I left a message for her she does not call me back and when I call again from a different number she answers and says that I will only get a partial credit because my insurance did not cover what was quoted when I came in for my 2 visits. I then tell her I am expecting a $810 credit back and she says that will not be possible, I don't understand why, they are charging for something I did not get billed for. I was pretty upset I did not want to argue I asked when to expect the credit and why such delay she just stated that there are other billing issues they are taking care of...... so very disappointed and upset, I eventually got the partial credit back on my card on August. They never billed me for what supposedly my insurance did not cover. I stopped by the office and spoke to a receptionist asked for a call back from someone or for someone to explain why I never got billed I have yet to hear from them. The receptionist mentioned the only other person above this billing supervisor Larae is the owners I asked for their email she said she was not able to provide that for me. I will never go back to this place and will make sure everyone I know knows about what happen so they avoid this place too. The attention to details of patient care here is first class. I have had physical therapy given to me for the last twenty plus years due to occupational injuries and surgeries. I highly recommend the staff at Body Central, Swan Rd. location. I am visiting from California and wanted to stay pain free and keep up my physical therapy regime. From my first phone call I was treated with care, respect and understanding. On my arrival I was given a personal one on one substantial evaluation and my expectations were met and exceeded. I expect professional medical care and I think the staff at this location provided me with excellent care and knowledge beyond what I am accustomed to. My therapist found some new issues by listening and her diligence is very refreshing to me. I observed the other patients being given the same consistent level of care so I would recommend you come here for therapy to get well, become confidently stronger and hopefully relieve any pain in your body.
