I recently came back to get a tattoo... We were greeted immediately upon entering. I told them what I wanted done and they scheduled me an appointment for the same day! I sent them an email of what I wanted for them to prep and a paid a deposit that went towards the tattoo total. I'm so bad with names. I forgot my tattoo artist name but I do remember his face. He showed me the design, we decided on the placement and got to work immediately. Even though I don't like needles and I voiced that, the artist ensured me that everything will be fine. Everything was sterilized and I watched him open up everything and set up everything as well. He was slow but intricate and I really REALLY appreciate that. My tattoo came out amazing! I visited Amsterdam for the first time a few weeks ago (I just went on a cruise and that was our first and last stop) and decided I wanted I get a tattoo from here. After finding out that not only was this shop a 20 minute walk from my hotel, but also had very good ratings, I decided to give it a go. I wanted to get a pink watercolor rose for my mom. Unfortunately I came in late, so I was only able to get the outline. Even then, it turned out great. The shop is very clean and professional and all of its employees are really nice. We finished our cruise today and landed back in Amsterdam. I went back to see if they can finish my tattoo and they put me in for an hour later. The piece came out beautiful. My friend and I had our ears pierced in Utrecht. I got a rook piercing and my friend a double helix. A girl named Naomi helped us, she was super friendly and professional! She talked us through the whole process and made sure we weren't nervous. The prices are, in my opinion, close to cheap when you keep in account that the service you get in return is outstanding. I have more piercings but this one has healed very nicely, no problems at all! It wasn't swollen or infected in any way. In short, their hygiene and expertise are amazing and staff is super friendly. Sadly there was a bunch of pointers during this visit and I will not be returning here ever. First after signing the consent form they wanted to make me pay up front of my service which I think is strange if nothing happened yet. Then we went upstairs and the piercer already started putting stuff down before she had her gloves on and when I pointed it out she said that she hadn't opened any of the equipment yet so it was fine. In hindsight I should've left with my friend right then and there but it was their birthday and I didn't wanna ruin the day by denying them their birthday gift. So we go on and she only puts her gloves on after putting everything on her working table. She doesn't check my friends skin and hesitates while the needle is halfway in. Then she misses when trying to put the jewelry in and hits the inside of the wound instead all while pinching my friends skin with the tool she was using to put the iron ball on the piercing. The bar was wayy too short and there's no space for swelling. My friend has kinda wild eyebrows so the piercing was also right in the hairy part which if that's supposed to happen. We contacted another professional and they told us to take it out immediately because it will simply not heal well. A birthday gift ruined :( and €50 wasted. Wouldn't recommend going here. read more

About my piercing experience: In short: This shop is amazing! Looked at many shops before stepping into this one. The atmosphere is amazing and everything looks clean and friendly, and I knew I had to look no further. In long: The sales assistent didn't pressure me into anything and listened to what I wanted and knew what she was talking about. She gave me clear instructions on cleaning and care and included a handout paper too read at home. With this I also recieved a bar of anti bacterial soap which is very nice. (And seasalt but that is because I planned 4 piercings at once in two seperate ears) The piercingshop has on a first come first serve basis no appointment needed I came in at a mildly busy time ( 3 waiting ahead of me) but my turn was soon enough. The woman piercing me was very friendly and clearly knew what she was doing, she let me see her cleaning and sterlizing everything and was wearing gloves. She also took the time to listen to what I had in mind and what I needed. I already had two normal earrings in my one ear and the second hole had been pierced slightly below the other on accident years ago, so the piercer made sure the third one I wanted behind to it didn' t look weird. Before piercing any of the four piercings she let me make sure that the placing was right by putting down little sterilized pennmarkers and then cleaned my ears. While getting my ears pierced she kept light conversation so I wouldn't have to focus on the sting which was very nice! Fast and professional it was over in seconds. Now I am writing this review almost three months after having them done and here is why: I always know that I have to go back for whatever reason with everything always. I had just let someone pierce me and these fresh piercings made me nervous. The first time I had to go back to the shop was because I lost the front of the piercing! Please keep an eye on the little screws because they come undone when you don't pay attention to it. I know this as no other, after the first one got lost a second one soon followed. But the kind people from bodycult put them on free of charge! I also went back to check on some swelling and they are happy to check and give advice :) I love this shop and the kind people working here. read more

This place was incredible! My friend lost her nose ring while we were in Paris and needed to get repierced when it closed, and we figured what better souvenir than a stud from Amsterdam? And once she decided she was getting pierced, I obviously had to join in. They helped me choose a placement for a third helix, and did an awesome job carefully placing it. It's been my easiest piercing to heal so far - practically no pain - and by far the most reasonably priced. My friend had a similarly easy piercing and healing process for her nose! I got kicked off a bike tour for riding too slowly, so the natural thing to do was to meander away my frustration and end up walking into a piercing/tattoo shop. The place was clean and the artists/piercers friendly. They made sure to check whether my ear could be pierced first (I wanted a rook), and then quoted me a price. They were patient with my questions, relaxed, and quick. The woman who did my piercing marked the spot and had me look at it first, which is great. Maybe standard but still appreciated it. Then the actual piercing part was quick and relatively painless. The jewelry is just a simple titanium barbell. It came out to 50 eur for the piercing. Like most places, they gave a simple piercing aftercare info sheet. Basically, if you're in Amsterdam and you wanted to get something done or you're like me and you got kicked off a bike tour, this place was great. read more

A real shit. I'm furious. All these five-stars reviews are fake. Also the studio is a good reason to leave, cause it overlooks on the sreet and it's dangerous and dirty. The tattooer Alex is a public danger. Me and my sister simply asked for three thin crosses (like Amsterdam flag) and he did a mess. The tattoo was inaccurate, crooked and too thick. Definitely not as I clearly asked. Initially he had only one cross wrong, but to make them all the same he ruined everything. After he justified himself saying that he used a "brushed" style. But we did not asked for that. He did not apologize and didn't reimburse us. He ruined my wrist and now we are angry and frustrated. If you're here for advice, ours is: don't go there. Remember that a tattoo is permanent, don't make our same mistake. They're terribly incompetent and they ignore the fact that they ruin people. I was in Amsterdam with friends and we spontaneously decided to get piercings. I got a cartilage (helix) piercing. I live in Los Angeles and there are tons of piercing shops and I have multiple ear piercings but none have ever healed so easily or given me less trouble than this one. It is seriously perfect. Avoid this place! I decided it would be a great idea to have my first tattoo done in Amsterdam and bring it home as a souvenir. I walked in to the shop on Leidsestraat and showed them picture of the tattoo I wanted and told them I would like a little changes to the design. They made everything look very simple and nothing was a problem for them, that is util they got my €100 deposit in their till. We agreed that the artist called Bruno would send me the design with the little changes I requested and I would come the next day to have it done. Later that evening Bruno send me the design and it was completely different to the picture I sent them in the first place. I explained to him that that it is not what I asked for and tried to explain again what small changes I wanted to have done to the design. Bruno said he got me and after few hours he sent me new design which was even worse than the first. It was about 11pm at that point so I decided it is just not worth trying to make him do any more changes as it is just not even close to the tattoo I would like, I told him that I understand that every tattoo artist has their personal style and the tattoo I want is probably just not his style and I went to the store the next morning. Bruno was very understanding he agreed that I would have it on my body for ever and I should love it and that the picture of the tattoo I provided is just not his personal style and that I can get my deposit back and go to somebody else. I would be most happy to do that but than the crazy lady who apparently was the manager of this place started saying that they are not going to refund my deposit because the artist was working on the design the whole night and that he could have changed the design if I would tell him how and that they can't copy somebody else's tattoo - all she said the first time I walked into the store was no problem it can be done. I was arguing with this dummy for some time and than I left completely furious about the quality of the customer service provided here by a "manager". They scammed me of €100 for a service they just couldn't provide. I am just glad I didn't get my first tattoo done here because if only the design of the tattoo went this wrong I wouldn't want to see what would they actually do to my body. read more
