I am horrified by the "piercing" I witnessed my friend receive today. A simple helix piercing resulted in 40 minutes of anxiety, stress and emotional outbursts (from Esther, the piercer!). Not only was Esther unable to complete the initial piercing due to an inability to connect the jewelry, she took it upon herself to pierce the skin a second time in attempt to salvage our business. She rambled in Dutch the entire time, although we made it very clear we speak English. Esther cried on multiple occasions, apologized profusely and proceeded to charge my friend 65 €. We left the establishment and immediately found a piercing shop nearby, who gladly sanitized my friend's ear (covered in blood) and removed the piercing. Please avoid Ink Your Skin and take your business elsewhere. read more

DO NOT COME HERE FOR PIERCINGS!!!! I don't even know where to begin. This was the worst experience of my life. I came in with a friend for a helix piercing and left paying 65€ for TWO holes that don't even go all the way through. Esther was my piercer and she was very out of it. She kept telling me how she was done with the day, which is not what you want to hear as someone gets a needle out. Then she pierces my ear, and doesn't go all the way through, and spends almost 45 minutes trying to get the jewelry in. She starts crying and keeps trying. Then she cries again and is bawling at this point telling me she is sorry and can't get the jewelry in. I am trying to comfort this woman, telling her it's okay, while blood is gushing down my neck. She decided to try a different piece of jewelry, but before that, she shoved another needle in my ear (without asking). I thought she was going through the same hole, but no - she pierced a second hole adjacent to the first hole, and this one didn't go all the way through either. She kept saying sorry but ended up putting an earring through half ways and letting me leave. She still charged me 65€ and had the audacity to ask my friend what piercing she wanted now. Obviously she declined and we left. I had blood all over so I decided to stop into another piercing shop since she didn't offer me saline spray, and the piercer there took a look and was shocked that I left and PAID for that. He said the piercing wasn't all the way through and that there wasn't even a ball on the end of the earring, so it would have come out immediately. They cleaned me up and took the piercing out, since it wasn't all the way through. read more

Well, I'm in the Netherlands. This is a trip to explore the culture of my roots since I'm from artificial insemination and ancestry DNA clearly traced me back here with records and spit. Because of the above, I wanted have this trip remembered on my skin via tattoo, thus adding to my canvas. The girl who was mentioned who seemed versed in fine lines and floral work didn't seem to be into it, so I accepted that it wasn't going to happen. My best friend Ally however, had a duck butt tattooed on her by Yatush (it makes her happy). After she was done, he offered to do my design, and I couldn't turn him down. Yatush tattoos light-handed, quality, precisely, in a sanitary workspace, and has a great personality. He seems well versed in traditional work based on the work posted in his workspace. If anyone were to come to him for a tattoo, I'd say please invest in traditional/classic ink, he's worth it. read more

I have been getting tattooed here over the last 15 years....(Thanks Mick!!)) recently had some work by Jenny who is a very original tattoo artist... she is diverse and is willing to push herself and her beliefs on what she can do ... .I've had some gorgeous abstract work all up on my arm with people constantly commenting on it with its flowing lines and highly detailed work.. She tries to be open as possible to understand what is in your minds eye before she starts and she is super creative to add her own aspects and help develop your idea further - Big shout out to her for her patience in helping birth my final touches of flames to my four element arm! While I was waiting for my latest ink sess with Jen, I asked the piercer Marti, a super cute italian if she could take a look at my nose ring cause my dog had pulled it.. well, to say she was an expert in it , will be a understatement - I hardly felt a thing as she removed my ring, cleaned the wound and then silently, gently repierced my nose for me... she did this for free because she said it was related to my dog causing it, not like I wanted a free piercing ,, which I think is just incredible not only free, but so caring and gentle in her process... I've has my nose peiced many times and this was undoubtly the nicest and best experience ever.... highly recommended these beautiful ladies read more

Stopped in on our last night in Amsterdam to get a matching tattoo with a friend. The guy said he was the owner so he offered to stay open and do our small pieces. Not my first tattoo so I understand after care. It was weird that for such a small piece it was taking over 2 weeks to get past the scabbing phase. Now healed 3 weeks later I am not at all impressed. Its poorly done and has gaps in the lines, its light enough that it looks like I have had it for years already. After he offered to stay open he rushed through and I would've rather found a different shop. For paying him via "friends and family" on PayPal and tipping him $30 for 2 $90 tattoos I am disappointed and would recommend going somewhere else. read more

Came in to get a rook piercing while I was in town on vacation, and had such a fun experience! The studio is clean and has an inviting waiting area. The woman that did my piercing was a hoot and made for good conversation. She walked me through the whole process before beginning, and continued explaining throughout. It was a little expensive ($50), but overall worth the cost. read more
