the best opticians i have been to…read more staff are helpful and when i recently purchased glasses i found them to be uncomfortable after a few days. they happily adjusted them while i waited and after a few adjustments, i found them to be uncomfortable still. surprisingly, the staff said i could choose a new pair of frames to change over to them at no extra cost! i have two pairs of comfortable galsses, knowing that if i have any problems with adjustments i can go in and have them altered, also for repairs they will do in store for you too. excellent value for money, great customer service too.

There weren't enough seats to accommodate customers who were waiting...I had to stand When I told them I was mainly interested in contact lenses, not glasses...they fobbed me off and continued in their pursuit of selling me glasses instead. A terrible customer experience because my needs were ignored. Don't waste your time if you want contact lenses.

However, on this occaision I opted to use Boots the optician for my glasses, as there was a very good special offer on Boots-branded specs. The staff at Boots in High Street are fantastic. Their customer service was of such a high standard, I told them so this is not something I think many of us do at the time! First of all, this opticians has many, many members of staff on busy days, meaning you'll never need to wait long to be seen. During my visits I spoke to about three different members of the team, and they were all exceptional in their general approach, good humour and demeanour, and explanation of procedures. The standard of service was as good if not better than I have experienced at local family-run opticians. Their optical knowledge was explained well in layman's terms, and prices and options fully explained.

This Boots does not feature a opticians centre, and is nowhere near as big as the Boots in the Royals shopping centre. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and the place is always buzzing with customers.
