But that's us!! i would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic break. The prices are a bit expensive but worth it.

The English Breakfast was so-so, but they make up for it by having a bar with Carlsberg Export on draught. The whole place, I thought, was reasonably well kept considering it's right on the promenade facing the beach and rather old. I took lift B to my garret room. The lift was endearingly/hilariously small. There are multiple lifts depending on which part of the hotel you're inhabiting. There are also lots of stairs. It's just vernacular and interesting. I liked it. Travelodge it is not! Caught some of the entertainment shows they offer at night and enjoyed them, even if they were not really for my demographic (probably for the best, tbh). Didn't get a chance to use the pool, unfortunately. If you like aging, mysterious buildings give it a chance. Oh, there was Wifi, but it wasn't very good. Hopefully I can make it back again soon.

From already looking at the menu, the food available was very basic, including the roast chicken or beef, which they didn't have that evening. I was surprised that a seaside restaurant didn't sell more seafood, like the others did. (I did try some marmalade gin though, which was delicious) My fish and chips were very average. The chips were huge, almost half potatoes, and the fish was very greasy but dry. My sister had the lasagna, and there was a pool of oil at the bottom! There was a lack of ketchup and the tar tar sauce was way too thick for my taste. We then ordered two desserts, the brownie and the sticky toffee pudding. The brownie was very nice. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious, but it was obvious it was shop bought. Getting the bill was harder than it should have been. Unfortunately my Dad forgot his wallet, so my aunt tried to put the cheque on her room. The staff told us that wasn't allowed, which was frustrating. We then gave a waiter the card and a tip, and he walked off. 15 minutes later he was doing something else, having just walked off with our card AND a tip. Eventually we got him over and paid, but he kept telling us he only dealt with the drinks. The experience was okay, the decor in the bar/restaurant is nice and the toilets are clean.

I honestly wanted to just stay in the cosy, beautiful room and watch the UK top 40 on my tv all day long and rest and relax and enjoy life. forget the ridiculously expensive hotels that face the sea. this place is a hop, skip and a jump from the boardwalk. and nothing beats the service of a bed and breakfast. so personal and friendly! It's a family-owned and managed bed and breakfast and i swear if i'm ever lucky enough to return to Wales, I'm staying here again. I was on a 2-week long trip to Europe and going all over the place and had a huge suitcase with me and i didn't know there was no elevator. I have a bunch of herniated discs in my neck and lower back so I'd asked if anyone could help me with the suitcase and his young daughter said that she'd take care of it for me and i looked and her and said oh gosh no, let's do it together! but then her dad came by and did it himself and insisted on it and not taking a tip and i felt so horrid but so grateful. they also helped with directions and suggestions on where to go and what to see. i didn't have breakfast there but they have a beautiful breakfast area and people there were enjoying their Welsh b'fast. i grabbed some juice and was off to explore this phenomenal and unbelievably friendly town of Llandudno. The room was super clean, the bed was super comfortable, the tv had a million channels including American ones, but who's watching American tv in Wales? not me! the bathroom was excellent. great water pressure, abundance of hot water, the shower area might be small for an american dude but it was perfect for me. the day i left i had to catch an early train to london and the owner's son was SO kind and woke up at 5A.M. just to help me lug that damn suitcase downstairs. WHO DOES THAT???? i insisted on tipping and thanked him profusely. and in case you're wondering, that suitcase finally died in London and i bought a smaller suitcase to fly home with. so don't worry guys, next time i'll handle my suitcase myself ;)

There is no parking, as advertised and I didn't think it would be as much of a problem as it was. In the end only parked 5-10 minute walk away and it was free. The outside of this place is one of the best in Llandudno let alone the street. It looks like it should be some where warmer, there are palm trees and everything is a sandy colour. The room itself is on the top floor, there were sloping ceilings and a very dark corner of the room but it is well decorated as is the bathroom. There is a bath with a shower attachment which cannot be mounted to the wall because of the low ceilings. The bathroom itself is large and airy with good lighting. The only pet peeve I have is it is fitted with a saniflow pipe system, this is when there is a box plumbed into the toilet and all pipes from bath and sink go directly into it and it pumps water out of that part of the house; usually used when there is no existing plumbing. The noise, oh the noise. I'm surprised we didn't have complaints when both of you want a bath and the water has to drain through that motor. The breakfast room was beautifully decorated with bay windows and a filling again like you should be abroad somewhere, the food was delicious and the portions good considering that it was free. Staff were friendly and courteous. I would stay again, but would think hard about it in the busy times for parking. I would also request a room on the lower floors.

We chose to only pay once, then leave. 4) very rowdy guests in beer garden was annoying and nothing was done about it 5) had to carry our own drinks and cutlery to garden, really, need wait staff to do this 6) smoking in garden was annoying as we ate. So food was great, but service needs to be better.

FOOD: The food was really good quality and there was a great range on offer on the menu (see my pics) for both breakfast choices and evening meals. The restaurant was in a separate adjacent room to the pub so it was less busy and more comfortable. For our evening meal, we ordered a Fishmonger's board to share (smoked trout, smoked salmon, peeled Atlantic prawns and beer-battered fish goujons) - it was delicious and there was enough for at least 3 people to share! For our mains, we ordered the 8oz sirloin steak and a mushroom open ravioli - both of which were well cooked and tasted great! BAR/PLACE: The bar was lively so beware if you're staying over the weekend and want early nights. When booking, I would suggest you ask for a room on the second floor. We were directly over the bar and the noise was gone by 1am and it wasn't so bad. There was also ample room to sit outside. There's a children's play area too. There's also a function room which has a mini dance floor - perfect for birthday parties.
