For £99 for two we had full use of the gym, pool sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pool, selected spa treatments and a light bite. Walking from Deganwy train station we soon found this and entered a large reception..she gestured that the spa was down the hallway.. the spa was decorated lovely and the bathrooms had everything you could possibly need. At the counter I stood there for ages, until I spotted a sign signalling for us to head upstairs. There we were handed a sheet to fill in for what treatments we wanted for our 15:00 booking. Before a masseuse could get their hands on us we decided to take advantage of the pool and sauna. the changing room were spacious, offering neat facilities like a swimming costume dryer, hair dryers and plentiful showers and lockers. The swimming area was framed by sun bed loungers overlooking the hydro therapy pool ( a blast of water would pummel you every 8 minutes), a standard pool, wet sauna and a dry sauna. This was a great place to actually meet people! Swimming done, we dried off and got ready for our massage. I had specified my achey areas and my mum had asked for advice on a facial. We lay seated in the chill out room which was dimly lit with fairy lights, soothing music and comfy loungers. We were called in by a therapist who asked me vital questions like had I had a massage before and tested various oils on my skin to ensure I had no allergic reactions. My mum lay beside me opposite me, and I have to say both masseuse were highly attentive and soothed areas I could not imagine. After 50 minutes of bliss we were given a sorbet and led back to the chill out room. The free steak sandwich deal afterwards was pleasant however my mum found a large hair in hers! I would not have paid the £15 quid for it, but as it was free and starving we were uncertain what to do. The waiter service was good but it lacked atmosphere .. Overall, we came here for the spa which I have to say was brilliant so if you are in the area give it a go, and check out the French restaurant opposite the train station on the way back!!

However if you can't get a room, you can just come in as a non resident and visit the extensive bar, or have your lunch or dinner here. Some of the rooms are a bit small and of course if you don't get a sea front room, it could be a bit of a let down. I had a junior suite room and it was really quite nice. Huge bay window with a couch and t.v. there. Twin beds, coffee and tea making facilities (they provide very nice biscuits, but only for the first night), nice soaps and shampoos (some bath salts as well), and this one had a whirlpool bathtub. It wasn't quite what I thought it would be, however I decided I would try it out... besides the fact it was so loud, it did the trick and it was a lovely bath. Breakfast service is a bit on the slow side, which isn't a big deal if you have the time, but if you are on a schedule like we are and they insist on the group eating all at the same time... it is a bit problematic. They are a bit inconsistent about the coach driver having his breakfast slightly earlier than the group because he has to go and get the coach and make sure it is ready... sometimes it is no problem, but sometimes they are a bit rude about it. However, the desk staff are always very friendly and helpful and the bar area is nice, plenty of seating. I do think the hotel could use a bit of a refurbishment, if they can manage that, I think they would be ready for a fifth star!

Affordable rates Cons: 1. Teeny tiny bathroom. If you tried to turn in the shower, your elbow will for sure hit the wall. 2. If you're sitting on the can, you probably can't shut the door as there's no room for both of your legs and feet! The pros definitely outweighed the cons, so I wouldn't mind staying here again in the future if I'm looking for something cheap, convenient, and nothing too fancy.

Map this out ahead of time, because we found that getting to one of these was tricky. There are lots of narrow congested streets in this city. The room was clean, but the beds were too firm for us. The two that were pushed together to form a king were almost okay, but the single (which was really a cot added to make the room sleep three) was really hard and short. If you're 5'10" your feet will hang over the edge. Like all of the showers in England, apparently, the Nadler's was designed by someone without physical experiences on Earth. It was one of those half glass doors--and hung loose so that you had to pull up and to close it. The drain hole and pop-up plug was right where one needs to stand to shower, so one keeps watching where she steps so as not to close the drain. The towel rack was dangerously close to pulling out of the wall, and the faucet handle was partly broken; this meant that you had to grasp and turn the lever and the device underneath it to change the temperature predictably. It took me a few alternately freezing and scalding moments to figure this out. This shower was dangerous! The air conditioning worked well, unlike the few other places we've stayed that have had it. This was a relief. Also, we loved the mini kitchen with microwave and fridge, and the other amenities: safe; iron; hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. So, mind the shower, but otherwise you'll do fine here.

Starting at check in, we arrived a little early and I understand check in is at 3 however in the 100s of hotels I have stayed in my life I have never been made to feel like such an inconvenience for being early. I then came back at the time they told me to be greeted once again in the same manner. The member of staff who had already made me sign the check in form made me do it all over again and we were never informed of anything other than the time of breakfast. We the get our room key, on the way to the room there are multiple unsettling stains on the carpets, we finally get to the room and the first thing that hits you is the heat, unbearable heat, it felt like the inside of an oven, then you look around the room and you see the carpet is coming away from the floor and the only air you can get is from a window the size of a stamp that opens maybe 3 Inches if your lucky. We have a night of suffering hell in this oven of a room on what I can only describe as the most uncomfortable bed I have ever lay on in my life, I woke up in the middle of the niaht to nearlv throw up due to the heat barely keeping my food down. We decide to get some breakfast and get out off the hotbox of a room only to not be greeted by anyone at breakfast and have to seat ourselves and try and find where the breakfast is however after opening the warming trays we find some scabby burnt bacon, some half cold fried eggs and some dry scrambled egg, no juice left and a few bits of fruit as well as a couple of crap aldi pastries We go off to get away from the hotel and come back on the evening, I went to the bar as its a friday night in hope of a couple of drinks however im then informed due to a event being hosted there I cant have a drink as the bar is busy with the event. There is no fridge in the room so you cant even store a cold drink in the hell hole I then decided after the very unhelpful bar manager did nothing to rectify this situation to leave and head into Chester however on doing so we heard another set of discrunteled customers leaving and decided to demand my money back and go home. The poor lad on reception looked about ready to have a breakdown and had a waiting room full of other guests with issues. On asking for my money back he told me he needed a manager but they said they would be a while as thev were involved in the same event that ment we couldnt have a drink so I threatened to go make it public infront of this event of just how disappointing the experience was, seconds later someones arrived to give me my refund and get me out of there The place isnt a hotel, its a hovel, I imagine there a prisoner of war camps with nicer stand and more amineties. For the love of god do not stay here The only one thing I can't have fault with is the bathroom was quite nice.. thats it.

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. It was very tasty and again the staff were attentive and friendly. Lovely spa facilities with a nice sized pool (with jacuzzi, sauna etc). Also very nice grounds. it would be a lovely location for a wedding. The hotel is located a five minute drive from Chester Zoo and is about two miles from the centre of Chester. Now that I have described the meaning of one of my favourite words to utter, I may continue on my merry way to review this hotel . Any how on my yelp inspired journey I bring to you my fellow yelpadres another chain of hotels in our fair greens of Kingdom of United by the name of Village hotels. Twenty be the number aye of hotels of the Village persuasion and this one has taken my fancy indeedeth!!! You see whether your stay is for business or for leisure this place does not dissappoint, as unfortunate as the name may be. There really isn't much not to like here you have comfortable bedrooms, a state of the art Health and Fitness Club, decent restaurant, ok pub, nice Café, Healthworks wellness and beauty, The Hub meeting and conference centre, VILLAGE live party nights and a Velocity Fitness Shop!!! God that was a mouthful wasn't it. Amongst all of that throw in free Wi-fi throughout the hotel and over 300 free car parking spaces, and hey presto you are in bob's your uncle territory!! There really seems to be a great package you get with this hotel chain which is going bit further and making more effort than some other hotels. It's location also isn't too bad either with it being only a few minutes from Junction 5 off the M53. Ideal launch pad really for exploring the Pool, Albert Dock and Beatles Story as well as the superb shopping on the Wirral, Chester, Marina West Kirby and nearby Cheshire Oaks. Despite having 117 bedrooms you'd still have to book well in advance as they are busy busy busy which is a good sign for a hotel. I like the decor of the rooms it creates a workable fusion between rustic and modern and of course as is the norm these days, all rooms are equipped with flat screen TV's with Sky Sports and other satellite entertainment channels. The hotel also boasts these Sealy ZZZzzz beds which are specially designed to prevent tossing and turning and relieve pressure points while you sleep. Hmmm the jury is out on that one but they are damn comfortable I tell you that because I am actually aware of the Sealy bed making company and yes they do make very nice beds!! I liked this Village hotel, and I'd definately stay in another Village hotel again might look it up when I'm next on the move.... Our room (#6) was small and the shower wasn't great but as a place to rest your head it is fine. The staff (including bosscat Brookie) were so nice and friendly and that made such a difference. It's a short walk into the centre of Chester and there's a bus nearby to take you to the zoo and into Liverpool. We'd go back if we were staying in Chester again.

I would have given this five stars if the free Wi-Fi had worked in the bedroom but the signal was too weak, although good in the lounge areas. Value for money is very good here, and I would certainly reccommend it. It is within walking distance of Bache and Chester stations, each about 15 minutes away.
